surely someone who spends time posting in a forum revolving around a single video game can't in good conciousness tell someone else to get a life.

Feet first into heck!!!

I always get killed on The Covenant in the second sheild generator tower, after I kill the weapons Cheiftan and go down the elevator. I get swarmed by brutes and drones. Any tips on how to beat or skip this section? I was also wondering if the drones that swarm me here are the same drones that I always skip in the Hunter fight before I go up the elevator, and if I kill them there, will they be gone when I come back down the elevator?

My God...

I...

I just...killed a Hunter with melee attacks. While I had Iron and Blind Skull off for testing, neither of those has a direct effect on the health of the Hunters. Video later today.

But here's what I found:

Plasma Rifle does have a stun effect if it hits the exposed flesh.
The Brute Shot melee doesn't kill a Hunter in one hit on SLASO. It takes a good amount.

I just watched most of the Storm, skipped some of the parts fighting the scarab because it got boring, all I can say is wow, great job on your run, some of the strategies were really interesting and effective. I also died laughing at the Arbiter when he was fighting the hunters, I wonder how annoying it was having him stuck in a crate half the time XD

Loose talk is noose talk.

Let Arby n' friends "take care" of the Brutes and Drones.

I have a question myself. Why is it that when Elites mash flood combat forms, the flood don't crumble? In fact, an Elite will almost always lose a melee fight with a combat form.

Btw, Anyone got any hints/tips for The Covenant? I can reach the top of the 1st tower. But the Chieftan kills me before I can kill him.

I'd reccommend killing 3 out of the 4 Brutes the normal way, then using invisibility (at the bottom of the tower) to assassinate the Chieftain, then killing the final Brute. This way, you'll be able to save your laser shots and take his invicinbility. You're much better off saving your laser shots for the Armor Chieftain.

Hello, Community!

Hopefully if you're reading this, it's because you're interesting in kicking your campaign experience up a notch by cranking up the Legendary with all skulls activated :-) Need advice? A guide? Maybe even a friendly community to cheer you on and help guide you through the process? Then give our Mythic thread a read, and Godspeed on your Mythic journey!

Best Regards,

Thank you :-) Glad you enjoyed it.

This just in!!! Strategic Cortana SLASO is now complete and in my fileshare. I just sent the video to GameVee and am hoping to hear back soon. Like I said, this isn't a run through. This is fighting the whole way with a gamer score of over 64,000. It's far easier to do it this way as long as you practice ahead of time. Check the OP and enjoy!

I guess no one noticed that I claim to have meleed a Hunter to death while everything but Blind and Iron was on to test the Plasma Rifle and Brute Shot. I wish I could reduce the size of that video. It sucks you can't make Campaign clips.

Okay guys, Last night sorry for being late. But I managed to reach the Hunters in the Covenant. Any tips to take em down? Or just let Arbiter "help" kill them and attack them from behind.

I stock up on Fuel Rod Gun (There's a cache of them to the right of the entrance, plus the Armor Chieftain drops one) and just blast them. It's usually enough to kill one and weaken the other, then just try to nade the last one til it dies. Alternatively, you could give The Arbiter the Fuel Rod gun, I just prefer to kill my enemies myself.

Btw, I watched your video. Nice trick on using the Invicibility when the Chieftan chases you. I tried that method last night and It worked first time.

Good work! Now do it with Blind on :-)

For the rest, tonight as usual. 5pm EST I will be on. I won't be working on "Strategic" Sierra 117 until this weekend. Today we will warm up at rally point Bravo. No deaths! Once we are able to get through that area without dying, we'll move on to the real thing.

Congrats tho. you have successfully proven that you spend a lot of time sitting down. lol soz but you do play amazing halo.

It IS a legitimate strategy. Personally, I do prefer to fight every battle that I possibly can as long as it's considered doable.

ie. The first set of Hunters on The Ark or the battle against the jump pack brutes on Tsavo Highway are pretty much impossible to do on SLASO.

Very true. Some battles are more trouble than they're worth when it comes to doing it the hard way. Also keep in mind that these videos were compiled in such a fashion so that anyone would be able to watch them and beat SLASO, hence why they're so long versus just straight run throughs.

And for those who don't think I can battle it out myself, watch the Cortana video. My score was over 64,000 :-)

My problems [with Reach] are basically just full parties, mlg, and people who go out of their way not to get killed.

Well I did Floodgate, and on Halo I near the end, but when you are going through the tunnels and are in the air at one point the Sentinal Beams act like gravity beams. They throw you around all over the place.

I know, and I still think that's complete BS how the sentinel beams can do that, yet they barely have any effect on the Flood Carriers.

So I was doing the storm, it was pretty easy, I even did the gravity lift method on the scarab and then I was right at the end where I was gonna destroy the AA cannon with the turret.

But I had to go take a piss so bad and when i come back, the xbox is turned off because my dad thought it made so much noise.
