No CLASO tonight am I right?

Correct. We will resume tomorrow at 5pm EST on the dot :-)

On the dot, damn! Don't kill me if I'm 1.32seconds late.

I'll make you do Cortana seven more times solo if you don't ;-)

Sounds like a challenge.
Hope you finish your work, although Cortana is probably gonna be next to impossible to beat. xD

Dude if i was doing this i would probably slit my wrists, ingest a cyanaide capsule, hang myslef, and blow my brains out before i finished cortana......

Wow thats a bit extreme? Cortana isn't that hard. Especially with Tyrants vid its a pretty solid method. If you follow Tyrants walkthrough you should complete it "quite" easy.

So, I'm just about to cue "Quid Pro Quo" on Sierra 117 for my second time on SLASO. My first time I was under prepared as I didn't know I couldn't go back. This time, however, I brought with me...a grand total of five Plasma Pistols, two Beam Rifles, a Sniper Rifle, a Carbine, a Battle Rifle and just in case, a second BR so I have some spare ammo.

5 Plasma Pistols :O
Good job. Remember, take it as slow as you need. Don't make any stupid mistakes and let the Arbiter do the majority. In my run, I killed the Snipers and the Grunts. And stayed up the top while I long ranged PP'ed a Enemy on the Bridge and killed him. Then the Chieftan came and Arbiter killed him. Bascially, stay on that top ledge as long as u can. Kill as many enemies as u possibly can then once u killed them all. Stay on the ledge up by where the skull is and make sure everyone is dead. Then release Johnson and hide in the engine room untill it ends.

I had to save and quit since I need to get my car going. =/ It's about a half-hour drive, maybe more, and I need to get it there before 5:00. Campaign can wait.

It takes a real person to restrain themselves.

Ok, I have a few questions.

First things first do you have to be good at Halo in order to beat SLASO?

Second, what is the recommended order to complete the levels?

Third, in the Cortana vid how did you know what grenades you had?

I'm going to attempt SLASO tomorrow, (even though I didn't beat the game on Legendary yet). I could use all the advice I could get.

  • 08.20.2008 3:29 PM PDT

Loose talk is noose talk.

Yes to the first. I recommend completing legendary without dying first if your aren't. Also, try Halo 2's legendary. It's a good teacher.

1) Floodgate 2) Halo 3) The Storm 4) Cortana 5) Sierra 117 6) Tsavvo Highway 7) Crow's Nest 8) The Ark 9) The Covenant

You never know.

  • 08.20.2008 3:41 PM PDT

1) You have to be good enough to know what gun you're holding simply by listening to the noise it makes when you take it out. Able to aim despite no reticule. Know where weapons and ammo are. How many enemies you'll be encountering and what they're wielding. This is not Legendary. This is beyond Legendary. If you have trouble with simple Legendary solo...SLASO will tear you apart.

2) Flood levels first, in specific: Floodgate, Halo, and Cortana.

3) This goes back to point number one: noises. When you switch grenade types, there is a noise that is made depending on which grenade you switched to. If you only have one type of grenade, there will be no noise. The respective noises are: Fragmentation Grenade (two clicks), Plasma Grenade (hissing sound), Spike Grenade (No noticeable noise), and Firebomb (sounds like a lighter igniting).

  • 08.20.2008 3:52 PM PDT

Loose talk is noose talk.

SLASO will tear you apart, rip your bones from your body (laughing), then throw the bones into a fire, put out that fire with it's urine, then eat the charred remains and -blam!- it out again. After which, it will erase every single knowledge of your existence.

Legendary... is different. It's like facing a couple toddlers and killer bunnies. No difficulty there.

If you want, you can play the Special peoples ASO. Like the Special Olympics.

Try E(asy)ASO, N(ormal)ASO, or H(erioc)ASO before attempting LASO.

So I am back at the Brute Ambush on Sierra 117. The Arbiter just died, and the text "Find Johnson before he's captured" has shown already. As soon as the Arbiter dies, I hear Johnson groaning in pain and he falls right by the Arbiter, needles sticking in him, running around with an AR. Looks like I found him before he got captured!

I wonder if he'll help me through the area...lmao. Two invincible AI...the Chieftan doesn't stand a chance.

Hmm, I'd recommend doing them in this order:

Floodgate
Halo
The Storm
Tsavo Highway
Sierra 117
The Covenant
Cortana
Crow's Nest
The Ark

It's different for each player I guess. I seem to find Sierra 117 harder than some people, yet I find Tsavo Highway and The Covenant easier than some.

I wouldn't rate them until you've actually played them, lol. I thought The Covenant would be the hardest before I tried it, but it was actually not so bad. The Ark, on the other hand, is simply ridiculous. You'll just have to see it for yourself.

Floodgate is by far the easiest level on SLASO. I did it on my first try. The Ark is by far the hardest, it took me about 100 tries to do it right, and I studied the level like crazy.

If it helps, I'm placing the videos in order of the levels I find easiest. So the first is Floodgate. That's the level that I (and most people) find easiest to do. The next is Halo, then Storm, next Cortana, and it goes from there. Watch the vids in order and just take them one at a time.

Firebombs are better. Instant Kill, even on SLASO.

Here's the order of the levels I would do from easiest to hardest. This is also the order in which I will be releasing the walkthroughs.

1) Floodgate
2) Halo
3) The Storm
4) Cortana
5) Sierra 117
6) Tsavo Highway
7) The Covenant
8) Crow's Nest
9) The Ark

Gamer Tag = ODST Panda
Feet first into heck!!!

All I have left to do is The Covenant, The Ark, and Crow's Nest and I will have completed my "quest for SLASO". Everything else is history.
