Does anyone even read these?

I'm so surprised that you finished Halo on SLASO. One wrong move will make you start from the beginning.

I can beat halo 1 on legendary, halo 2, no, halo 3, yes.
I mean it's really not that hard if you just chill and go slow and take cover, but..having to melee to regain shields?
Damn..no thanks..

Hello, Community!

Hopefully if you're reading this, it's because you're interesting in kicking your campaign experience up a notch by cranking up the Legendary with all skulls activated :-) Need advice? A guide? Maybe even a friendly community to cheer you on and help guide you through the process? Then give our Mythic thread a read, and Godspeed on your Mythic journey!

Best Regards,
The Tyrant

You're right. This part was quite frustrating. So I took the game offline, set it to easy, and practiced the drive until I knew it by heart and my fingertips were bleeding XD

Sierra 117 and Crow's Nest were twice as difficult.

Couldn't you have left it on legendary when practicing, and jut go to the rally point? I mean it would have been more ideal testing conditions. That must've been hard with the skull where you have to punch to gain life.

Could have. But I also needed to practice the gravity hammer jump to the top of the tower at the beginning. It's easier to first master these maneuvers, then worry about getting shot at later ;-)

Lol, I can imagine you just about to finish it on SLASO and then a platform underneath yopu drops and you fall to your death. Hahaha.

Good eye! :-)

Yes I ran past him. The door actually opens when the second group of Brutes enter to reinforce the survivors from the first. This was a tricky battle, and I placed a mini walkthrough as to how I did it on the previous page. When that Chieftian starts charging and switches on that invincibility, you don't have much other choice with low shields. So I threw down a grav lift, jetted over him, and made a break for the door.

Try getting all the way to the end of Floodgate just to be pegged by a ranged for right as you're jumping into the ship...

Believe me I know. I'm still trying to figure out how to get past that dropship area without getting sniped. Even in the Warthog I'm beam bate.

  • 05.28.2008 7:29 AM PDT

If you beat cortana.. IMO you're more than halfway there. Tsavo's highway could be tough when you have to get past the drop point and the next stage with the wraiths and choppers.. but it's do-able.

Little tip. On the drop point, go to the top of the dam and get the snipe and pick off as many of the fuel rod carrying brutes as you can. Then sneak around the drop point on the right side until you get into the next screen, when it loads, you can turn around and go back and all the brutes are gone. Also the ones you killed will leave behind their fuel rod cannons, which will be helpful on the wraiths.

Good luck.

That's an excellent tip! Thank you!

EDIT:

Cortana is actually one of the few stages where the Black Eye skull seems to be in your favor. You can control when your shields recharge a lot easier.

Yea I remember going through that battle on Legendary for the first time. Solo but no skulls. It was a beast! But I've also learned of a trick where there is a gravity lift where that sniper rifle is, and I can also possibly use that to get across and literally fly through. I'll try both methods if one doesn't do the trick ;-)

Just be ready to spend six hours at a time on a level (due to all the restarts).

Pahat's are a much better example. I'll see if I can dig up a link and PM you. He can do it in one run without having to start over at all. As for me? Put it to you this way. My shortest film is Floodgate. The successful run only took 8 minutes. The video? Nearly an hour...
