If you cannot complete that last bit of Cortana, the Ark will rip you apart with absolutely no mercy.

The toughest Flood enemy is a Combat Form with a sword. Every single Covenant enemy is a threat. There are much fewer opportunities to recover your shields, and because the Ark focuses a good deal around vehicular combat, that can be said to be even less opportunities.

If you're going to attempt a different level, go for the Storm. Next to Cortana, that is the easiest mission for you now, and it will give you a chance to adapt to the different fighting style. While it doesn't have any Sniper Jackals for you to get acquainted with, it does have both types of Chieftans, vehicles, Hunters, and a Scarab.

I actually highly recommend The Storm after Halo. Also, while the sword wielding Elite combat Flood is tough, the Elite form wielding a shotty is worse. At least he doesn't always spawn.

Someone get the ghost. I call warthog driver. We need someone to get the laser before the other team does. I need a gunner. . . . . No wait- . . . . I NEED A GUNNER . . . . oh . . never mind. I'll just splatter people. <"SPLATTER SPREE">

TSAVO HIGHWAY IS MY FAVORITE LEVEL!!!

I agree with Tyrant, The Storm should be done after Halo, but it's up to the player. I found it to be easier than the other levels.

Also, there are only Armor Chieftains on The Storm, no Weapon Chieftains, lol.

EDIT: Stupid me, forgot about the one after the Hunters, lol.

Actually there is one right after the Hunters. Forget? :-P

After the Hunters there is a Chieftan with a Hammer.

Anyways, this Brute hacked against me. He did a berserking charge while firing his weapon. While his weapon wasn't even pointing at me, the spikes flew straight at me.

Also, in reference to The Storm. That level is a great way for you to learn how to deal with Wraiths without being overwhelmed which will make Tsavo Highway a lot simpler.

My problems [with Reach] are basically just full parties, mlg, and people who go out of their way not to get killed.

Well fellow S.L.A.S.O goers... It seems as though my Halo 3 time is very limited now days and it has become a choice between getting my 5 Star General or completing SLASO. I will get my 5 Star General rank legit before SLASO comletion.

Rest assured, my friends... I will be back!

i just moved back into college so i'm not up-to-date on the info. hows the CLASOing goin?

Tyrant: im working through Tsavo Highway. i'm close to the beginning, at the valley where the phantom drops brutes. i'm doin a lot of PP+Br but the fuel rod brutes are destroying me. i'm going to have to look at ur video again.

  • 08.26.2008 8:32 PM PDT

Just died on the Covenant. My third try got me all the way to the final tower. Killed the Chieftan, but I was without a Power Drain for his friends. I made one of them berserk and was going to melee him for shields just because any other way would be a bit difficult, since all I had to use at that point was my Laser and a Plasma Rifle. He did a leaping attack, got stuck on part of a wall, did a second one, missed. Then he refused to attack me, so instead we kept running around in a circle until he eventually did a random spin which killed me.

I killed one Hunter with the FRG and the other I kept sticking until it fell over and died. I spent my remaining FRG ammo killing off Drones until they retreated. Killed the Brutes in the back room, then jumped my way up to the lift without triggering the second wave.

  • 08.26.2008 8:34 PM PDT

Argh, I forgot about that one. Maybe it's because I didn't kill him in my run. My bad.

I don't use a Power Drain for the invisible Brutes, I simply PP them when I see them. You can see them easier from behind the screen. And they usually don't move from there spot. Theres a PP in a Weapon Case to the left of the screen. And there could be some on the lift that the Drones dropped.

There has to be a better way to kill the weapons Chieftian in the first tower... I mean aside from using the laser.

BTW it takes 1-2 laser shots to kill a Hunter.

Kill 3 Brutes, use invis, assassinate Chieftain, take Invincibility, PP + BR final brute.

But even with invis he can still see me, so if I get the chance to kill him, it's luck based. How do you keep him from seeing you?

Want me to send you a vid of dealing the best way with the first tower? I simply kill the first to Brutes that charge me. Then kill the Chieftan. I PP him from affar then BR him. He doesn't move or anything. Then kill the remaining Brutes.

2 methods actually:

Use invis, hop over him, turn around in mid air and smack.

Plasma pistol him to stun him and VERY quickly turn around and assassinate him (Haven't tested this one yet.)

Method number two seems a bit gutsy... sounds just like something you'd do XD

Ah and remember 5pm EST tonight. The Crow's Nest is about to get smashed XD

By the way, I couldn't have said this better myself and every bit of it is true. Excellent work, Vince :-)

Essentially, the main reason why it is wiser to start out with the easier levels first is because it gives you a chance to build up a technique. Even if you watch my videos from start to finish 50 times, you will still develope your own little tweaks that work best for you. Doing this will simply the more difficult levels by quite a bit.

Nevermind, I died. I was circuling the first Scarab killing the enemies on it. And somehow the Chieftan on it shot me with his Fuel Rod Gun and blew up the Hornet. Also, when I killed all the Banshee's and went back for the Hornet somehow the AA gun on the Left Scarab shot me.

When you get to that area where the marines drop off the Hornets, you should grab one and hide it behind the ledge so it doesn't get taken or destroyed, then use it after the banshees are blown up. Plus you should blast the Brutes on top of the Scarab and try to make them fall off.

You mean blast them with the Scorpion? And yes, I hid the Hornet.
