The Library would tick me off too. Do you remember how those Flood with Rocket Launchers fought? They'd run right at you and fire point blank. I always hated that.

Hello, Community!

Hopefully if you're reading this, it's because you're interesting in kicking your campaign experience up a notch by cranking up the Legendary with all skulls activated :-) Need advice? A guide? Maybe even a friendly community to cheer you on and help guide you through the process? Then give our Mythic thread a read, and Godspeed on your Mythic journey!

Best Regards,
The Tyrant

Honestly? After dealing with the Pure Forms in Cortana, I'll take whatever the Library has to throw! lol.

I'm free for most of the day, I might be able to join you guys on Squad Battle if you don't mind. It's fun as hell.

On a side note, I'm thinking of possibly doing a few levels on SLASO over again to reduce my time. I cut down my time on Sierra 117 by 40 minutes (From 1:39:00 to 59:00) and I might try The Storm next. I'll let you guys know how that goes. Obviously this depends on how much homework I get, lol.

  • 09.30.2008 10:19 AM PDT

Well don't forget, Cortana has tighter hallways and not very many areas are open and lacking cover.

The Library was filled with wide-spaces where they could get shots at you from further back. Not to mention the Flood would sometimes "play-dead". There also was no way to headshot the Infection form and back then melees were actually really ineffective on them. Don't forget the Carrier Forms! Those things were fast when you compare them to the Carriers in Halo 2 and 3.

Absolutely. I'd be an idiot not to let another all-star SLASOer in on the fun :-) I'll be on at the usual time.

And to Vince: Don't forget you had lots of columns to hide behind in the Library. It's where I always piyched my tent :-)

I can just imagine myself playing Halo:CE again:

I'm not in the habit of pressing X to Reload, so I'd switch my grenades for no reason every now and then.

How is work going on the Crow's Nest walkthrough?

I've actually done everything up through Floodgate, but the site is releasing them one at a time to help with bandwidth. I'm working on The Ark text guide now. And check the bottom of the Sierra 117 page :-)

I have played Halo:CE yes. And I'm only borrowing it from friend. And yes, it does work on the Xbox 360.

Also, I'm practicing on working down my The Storm time. I can currently get to the Hunters in 20minutes. I might try to attempt to beat Pahat Pojat's time of 28minutes. But I think I'm pushing it a bit :P

Not sure if its safe enough. There's like 4 Brutes out there and a Chieftan. And don't forget a few Grunts and Jackals.

  • 09.30.2008 11:23 AM PDT

To be more specific...two Brutes with Carbines and the Chieftan. Then some reinforcement is off in the back, including two more Brutes who have Spikers, additional Grunts and Jackals.

You could sneak past the Hunters, but that would be just be walking in to the Carbine Brutes...

I might use the Pistol Method, or the Spiker Method instead. That doesn't take long at all.

Lol! Nothing I do at the moment is recommended. I skip the first fight entirely. Blast the second fight and use the Marines to help. Smash the Lake Bed, with the Missile Pod. Rush the whole next fight completley, killing next to nobody. The next area you cannot really rush. When the Scarab comes, I jump straight on it and blast the Brute Captain with a Rocket Launcher and kill everyone else. Basically, I rush everything.

We may want to cancel our matchmaking plans, guys.

Here's a post from Shishka in the Optimatch Forum.

Some of you have already noticed, but it would appear that TrueSkill and EXP are not being properly awarded since Xbox Live's recent downtime. We're currently working with the Xbox Live team to investigate the issue. We hope to resolve this as soon as possible, and I'll reply here when we've got it figured out. Thanks for your patience.

Note: Do not be confused: This is not a global EXP ban or anything like that. If you have been EXP banned, there is an in-game message that tells you so, clearly. If you have not seen this message, you are not EXP banned.

Practice Tsavo Highway instead, maybe? I want to smash the...uh...blockade thing.

Well personally, I like to play Halo for, you know, fun. Not gaining experience after winning a game isn't an issue with me, I have enough as it is.

99% of other Halo people will disagree with that. Well, the Forumers (Is that even a word) anyway. They find one thing and complain like hell about it.

"ZOMG THE BR SPREAD IS MAKING ME MISS, MY LIFE IS OVER BUNGIE!!"

I actually like the BR spread. I killed those two Carbine Jackals in the bottom floor of the first tower on the Covenant with one burst from the BR. 1st bullet hit the Jackal in front, 2nd bullet hit the Jackal's head again, 3rd bullet hits the second Jackal in the head.

Can you imagine what Halo:CE would be like on SLASO?

Every Gold Elite fight would be like fighting a Chieftan, only worse.

Truth and Reconciliation after entering the ship...oh man...

yeah halo 1 has harder enemies especialy if u had the skulls on so that would probaly be almost as hard as beating number 2 with them all on i use 2 play through that with alot of them on but i couldnt imagine beating it like that. with out skipping through the level.

The main difficulty would be from a lack of weapons that can headshot. This Pistol and Sniper Rifle are alone in that regard. That and on some missions, Pistol ammo is already scarce as is, and seeing as on Covenant levels, you'll need it to take out Grunts, Jackals, Elites, and Hunters...you're screwed if you run out.

Since I have time, I think I am going to hook up my regular Xbox and pop in Halo 2. I want to see if every enemy gets camo for Assassins skull, or just the Elites and Grunts. I honestly can't remember.
