Face it, Halo 2's campaign sucks, just a remash of part 1. I still play part 1's campaign because of the sense of freedom and originality it has.

Yeah Halo 2 just reinforces how GOOD Halo one really is, i think we take it for granted, especially since we thought it could be bettered just because of a new story, duerl wielding and... LIVE. Halo 3 will probably make up for it.

i wouldnt say that halo 2 campaign sucked, but yes halo 1 was alot better. I think that is becuse you had no idea what was ging on you picked up a new wepon you looked at the elites and in halo 2 you already knew everything

Halo 1's campeign was extremely fun the first time but lacking replay value. You go through a course once, then you turn around and go through it again. Lather, rinse, repeat. Halo 2 on the other hand had more levels and environments and has more replay value.
This is all my opinion so up yours.

Halo 1's campaign has a lot more replay value than part 2. I still play part 1. I have not played Halo 2 campaign since I beat it, because it just sucks.

The thing that H2 Campain has over H1 is the fact that there's no level that you revisit{except in the oracle}.

I think that both games have a fantastic campaign, I do prefer the Halo 2 campaign though as most of the environements are different from each other. In the Halo campaign 3 of the same levels were used twice but just reversing the path, Truth and Reconcilliation / Keyes, Pillar of Autumn / The Maw, and Assault On The Control Room / Two Betrayals. In the end I just found myself playing T&R, The Silent Cartographer, Assault On The Control Room and The Maw. Whereas in Halo 2 I play the game from beginning to end without skipping any levels.

s monk3y, you need to realize that Halo 1 used two of the exact same levels. And a lot of the levels are just a series of corridors leading to large circular rooms. In fact some levels get so monotonous that I would rather play Halo 2. At least Halo 2 has huge environments that don't really have a predictable pattern.

Six levels used the exact same enviroment with some difference{Darker,burn marks etc.} and one of those levels{Truth and Rec.} was using the same texture over and over. The Library used the exact same texture over and over to. Not much originalitly compared to Halo 2.

Halo 1 SP SUCKED my opinion. The halo 2 campain has more story, more lvls, more vehicles, and higher replay value ive played it 3 times already.

Halo 1 campaign is so epic, and way harder and more enjoyable than H2 campaign. Who cares if the rooms are similar, its not like you fight the same guys over and over.

Invincible. Two shots two the head with a carbine kills them. Also what do you mean you don't fight the same people over and over. There was four species and one of them wasn't that commen.Also you say Halo 2's campain ain't epic. Sure you got the right game?

Halo 1 is harder then Halo 2? I'm on the 4th level on Legendary whereas I beat Halo 1 on Legendary many times. Halo 2 is harder.

I agree. Halo 2 just did not have a "moment" like Halo CE. When I first played Halo CE campaign the first time the Flood started rushing at me, I nearly crapped my pants. Halo 2 was just missing that, and I'm sorry but playing as the Arbitrator just did'nt do it for me.

Once you left earth, Halo 2's campaign was one long linear corridor crawl. With the exception of the Library, there was always different paths to reach the objectives in Halo 1. Hmmm, looks like the only level designer from Halo 1 that worked on Halo 2's SP was the guy that designed the Library. Gee. There's an interesting coincidence.

This linearness is compounded by the fact that the weapon set in Halo 2 lacks the differences that Halo 1 had. For example the Plasma Rifle doesn't stun anymore, and takes longer to overheat. This pretty much makes it an SMG with flashing lights. The Plasma Pistol now has no reason to exist except for the overcharge. The Carbine is an ugly BR.

Dual wielding and the Jackal Snipers means that every encounter is one of two things; spraying or sniping. Either that, or it's a boss battle. Not having boss battles was one of the fundamental things that Halo used to stand for, oh how the mighty have fallen indeed.

I got bored with the Halo 2 campaign in less than a month. I'm still playing and enjoying the Halo 1 campaign.

I completely agree. The weapon effectiveness completely altered the feel of the campaign. There's also something different about Halo 2's AI. All enemies will just stand and shoot instead of strafing and shooting like they did in Halo:CE, which made it harder to aim at them. The only time they will move is when you shoot them. Their stamina also grows when you increase the difficulty and yours decreases, which isn't very fun at all. Even the Flood, enemies that were SO ANNOYING have been watered down to the point of where they have no personality. In Halo:CE, you often died because you were outnumbered and the AI used their brains. In Halo 2, you die because the AI is stronger than you. Big difference.

Dude, your probably one of those people who have never picked up halo1 and say it sucked.
If you are a big halo1 fan (like me) you would be saying the same thing as me.

halo1 does give you something new to play but isnt fun when you go back and play it. Personaly i love halo` single player just because its original and you have more freedom and theres more to like, even though you go back to the snow level, that doesnt matter its still basicly a different level. Halo1 SP pwns, halo2 falls short..

Halo 2's SP was very linear. It was point.. shoot .. kill.. move on. Nothing in Halo 2's SP was like the Halo 1 level "Truth and Reconciliation" where you could sneak up and kill them.

I still love Halo 2 though
