I have used AutoCAD 2005, 2004, 2002, R14, R13 and R12; AutoDesk Inventor Series 9 and 7; AutoDesk Mechanical Desktop 2005, 2004, R6, and R5; Pro/E 2001 and Wildfire. I believe Wildfire is the best/most powerful that I have used, but AutoCAD is the most basic and easiest to learn.

EDIT: I have also used a version of Nastran, Solid Works/Solid Edge, CFdesign and I-DEAS. Never touched Fortran though.

Ive used all except inventor and some of the earlier versions of autocad, but i would have to agree that Pro/engineer is the best and most powerful once you know how to use it.

Yeah, I taught myself Pro/E on the 2001 Student Edition. 2001 was a nightmare in comparison to Wildfire. When my employers bought Wildfire for me, I could notice the ACAD/Inventor influences (more user friendly).
