Just wondering, has Bungie ever publicly talked about putting the Marathon series on Windows? I don't have a Mac, and I never have, so I didn't get a chance to play Halo's predecessor. I'd really love to though.

Marathon 2 was the only Marathon released for windows. However, using Aleph One, an OpenGL version of Marathon Infinity's engine, you're able to play all three Marathon's on any up to date computer.

First, you need Aleph One:

Then, you need the Marathon Action Sack:
Marathon Action Sack

If you can't get the Action Sack right away, you can go ahead and start right now on the first Marathon by grabbing M1A1 (Marathon One for Aleph One) from bungie.org's Marathon File Archives:

That should be everything the hardcore Bungie fan needs to play the game that Halo was born from. =)

Sweet. Thanks a bunch, I'll be ordering the Mac Action Sack this summer. I'll get started on Marathon 1 as soon as I can download it. Thanks again.

This is cool because about two hours ago I downloaded the Marathon 2 demo for the PC, and I played it for about an hour. Even though the game is old, heh, it's still pretty fun. I liked the computer terminals you could interface with and talk to Durandal, the Marathon's AI. Try downloading the demo, just go to www.download.com and put type in Marathon 2 in the search engine. Of course you'll need to pick the windows one if you want to play it on the PC and not on Mac.
