Just a theory. Here me out.

When Eric Nylund wrote "Halo: First Strike", he clearly knew some exclusive information about what would be in Halo 2 (only Bungie could've given him that information). For example: Jackals fighting in phalanx formations, surviving SPARTANS, Kelly being taken away, the Covenant finding earth, and maybe most importantly- all the new weapons (Battle Rifle, New Pistol, driving Wraiths, etc.,). He wrote that book a while ago. Most of that information was just recently released to the public (in the last 1-2 months), so maybe those parts of the game were already done. Maybe all the "new" information that is now being released is actually several months old. Maybe Bungie is screwing with all of us.

Just think about it. It sort of makes sense.

They might be done... with the story . That doesn't necessarily mean that they are done with the whole game. Like they said, what they are really doing is fixing small glitches and things of that sort.

Halo2 is probably allready Bungie is just making us wait so we will pay more and by the time it comes out more people will want to buy it. That and they are trying to make it the best game they can possibly make it.

I didn't realize that an entire game had to be finished for an author to write a prequel to it.

They said in one of the updates that you can do a complete run-through of the main game with everything where its supposed to be like theres walls, doors, and everything. No holes in the game. All they are really doing now is fixing up the graphics, fixing glitches, probably some character animations, doing more multiplayer maps, working on weapons. Whatever, theres still so much stuff to do. They are DEFINATELY NOT done with it yet.

I didn't say the whole game was finished. This is why it's called a "theory". It can't be proven yet. You may have heard of one of those?

Yes. I've heard of "theories" before. Perhaps you, being familiar with theories, are also familiar with "insubstantial evidence?"

And BloodWake's a good game.

Anyway, Bungie famously have their Halo Story Bible, which details the entire Halo world. Licensed authors use this to keep their stories consistent with the games and each other.

Yes, i'm familiar with that "insubstantial evidence" of which you speak. Proposed theories don't require substantial evidence. If I was proposing it as a fact, then yes, I would need lots of solid evidence.

i really think that they've already finished the game, an that they are now in the testing debug phase, i mean isn't it logic?, they need to print millions of copies of the game, also they need to ship them to all stores, i mean it's a huge labor, it's just stupid to think they are still making the game, and those "mews" in the weekly updates are just to get us all excited with the "new" features they add in the game. But maybe that's just me.

:)

Peace!.

Hey Shiska can you clear up the Magnum Pistol thing cause I keep using the First Strike quote to show that the Pistol is being changed in Halo 2 but people either believe that there is no pistol or that it will remain the same few actually think that cause it's in the book it doesn't mean it's in the game. Also the Battle Rifle is the enhanced Assault Rifle right not completly seperate guns right?

All you have to do is read the updates to know that they are still working on it. It may be finished enough to release, but not finished enough to meet the anticipation riding on the game's shoulders.

It could be possible, very possible, that the date is officially Nov. 9th in order to compete with Sony for the holiday season. A game like Halo2 at Christmas time would (and will) crush the competition. Also, Nov. 9th is really close to the 15th, time is needed to update and perfect Xbox live to handle Halo2, and I'm sure Microsoft is giving Bungie as much time as they need to polish ever last dust speck and grenade in the game.
