With B.B. gone, the passion of Bungie.net has lessened.
Good to see you, too, Texas Ben...
Anyway, my next concept is a Covenant mini-sub. Very fast, relatively weak, a bit smaller than a Longsword, blue, can't strafe from side to side, and has two weapons. One is a small plasma charge (a little bit more damaging than a plasma rifle blast), which has two mounts, one on each "fin" of the vehicle. How the hell can you fire plasma in water, you say? Well I think that all Covenant "plasma" shots are encased in relatively weak electromagnetic fields to contain them (think personal energy shield-type thingies). These plasma charges, however, are encased in strong fields, to allow them to exist under water without dissapating immediately. They are weak enough to break open (releasing the plasma charge) whenever they hit something solid, so you can hit enemy subs (or divers, for that matter). This gun would have a rate of fire slightly slower than that of the Battle Riffle that we saw in last year's E3 demo.
The second weapon is an semi-kamikaze attack. You hit the "boost" button (it will be capable of boosting), and get it on a collision course with whatever you want dead. Then, so you yourself don't die, you hit the eject button, which sends you (inside of the cockpit) "flying" towards the surface of the water. The rest of the ship, however, will continue on to collide with your target, and once it hits, a massive explosion (the size of a Scorpion main shell's explosion), which will pretty much kill whatever it hits.
This is merely a somewhat creative thought, since I'm aware that Bungie has not said anything about underwater battles, and probably won't include them in Halo 2 (if they don't, I won't be disappointed).
