I just right now hate my parents so much....... Alright here's the story. Today from 7 pm to 9:30 pm. there was a school dance at my well school. I'm in the 8th grade and 13 years old and guess waht!!! After the dance, I was supposed to join my friends to an after party at my local Diner. There was no chaperone and lots of talking and food. BUT GET THIS. First my mom says it toooo late to be out. Second she says asks my dad and my dad says, "NO I DON"T TRUST YOU" and to make all worse, my mom says, "You got a C in LAL, you have to improve your grades and then I'll let you go" The next distribution of reportcards was gonna be in like MONTHS. I just hate my parents. They don't trust me and I'm a teen. My curfew is right Now. It's now 10:09 pm in my area. I mean I'm a great kid with high prodigy and talent. (slams fist onto keyword breaking it)

Well bummer for you. Notice how I put that setence in bold? Well that's because if you think your parents will trust you as a teen you are kidding yourself.

He's 13 man. That is still a kid, even if the word has teen in it.

In fact, many of us posting here at forums are about 13 years old as average . Some us are even younger!! But the majority of people here range from 13 to I don't know about 15? Only a few are like 30 years old or even older!

But he said there'll be parents there anyway, it's not like he's going to meet up with his buddies at the local crack house to shoot up and fight over who's next to go out and sell their body for more drugs.

Three different posts aimed at me... It's 1am... Nuts to this, I'll reply when I get on next.

I felt really old after reading this thread. All of you that still live with your parents, live it up. Once you move out and actually have to support yourself, you will realize how good you had it. Once you have kids of your own, you will know why your parents act the way they are now.

Sheesh, I can't believe I am 11 years older than the originator of this thread, something is wrong with me...

You don't see me -blam!-ing...

after you turn 13-14 and have to start babysitting younger siblings/relatives for no pay, you really do understand why parents act the way they do.

Driving is overrated.

And you'll find that the "freedom" of adult life is really sucky compared to what you have. I know, even though I'm just 16... I don't actually get a say in any important descisions (well, a few, but they make the final call anyway), but I still see most of the descision-making process, unlike my younger siblings. Let me tell you two things:
* Being a teen is awesome. Enjoy it while it lasts.
* Parents rarely make unfounded descisions. Poor ones yes, but their intent is good.

So quit yer -blam!-ing.

Hey, I was in your position once, but I didn't care about a curfew when I was your age. Before I started to drive, my parents (or friend's parents) had to drive me everywhere. Do you think that it is OK for you to keep them up late? Once I started to drive, my parents didn't care what time I came home, because I proved myself to be responsible. There was a couple times that I didn't come home until 6 in the morning, and my parents called me on my cell because they were worried about me. That's all, your parents are worried.

And don't call me a lucky 24 year old, I think you are the lucky one. I have a $1,500 mortgage, $400 in car payments, $300 in car insurance and a hole mess of other bills that round out to another $1,000 per month!! How many bills do you have to pay? Or are your parents keeping food in the house that you live in with your heat and cable and internet and water? They do a lot for you, and all that they ask is that you follow their rules.

[/grownup rant]

EDIT: I think this is the first time that I agree with Texas Ben. ;)

Wow. first time I've learned a lesson... from you guys. So i guess there's more to my teenage years than being an adult. No bills, no nagging wife, and no worrying about your life and jobs. I can just sit back and relax. THanks though for reminding me what the pros about being a teen is and the cons of adult. Still there are some cons of being teen and pros of being adult. BUt your right. The pros and cons of teen outweight the pros and cons of adult....

OK, but it will be kind-of hard for us to get a drink together. I mean, we do have the Atlantic between us. :)

Heh, I had this problem a while ago...I just went anyway. My grades are terrible and I would rather be hanging out with my friends then staying at home sulking over how strickt my parents are...Oh and welcome to the first year of your hell. That is unless you take charge.
