While I hate to admit it, I am yet to own Xbox Live. Reason being, I'm on dial up. With Halo 2's release on the horizon, I have to buckle down and make broadband a reality. After looking at local packages for DSL, I'm not sure if I should opt for the cheaper 384 kbps - 1.5 mbps or splurge and go for the 1.5 mbps - 3.0 mbps. Being as inexperienced as I am in regards to Xbox Live, lag and connection speeds, what do you guys own and furthermore, what/which would you guys recommend?

I greatly appreciate any help.

get either one it will be fine what ever is cheaper. You have to understand this game is not only going to work to broadband users with the best broadband they are definatley going to make it accessable to any person who just has broadband. Get the cheaper one and don't worry about it

SB-117

Get >/=T1 connection and your set. 1Meg and higher is a descent connection speed I think.

Anything below 1Mbps is worthless.

Also make sure to check the upload speeds. Upload is the most important for hosting. If you go with the faster package make sure they also increase the upload speed.

I currently have dsl with 600 download and 300 upload. With no problems using Live.

I have 3000 down, but still only 300 up...it's dumb.

So I have no trouble playing, but I can't host at all. You should definitely get higher upload if you want to host.

Both packages offer 384 kbps upload. Which is what I'm assuming you guys mean by 300... I guess I won't be hosting - I'll live. Again, I appreciate the advice.

Just wondering, you said DSL right? And you are SURE its not cable. With cable, you somtimes can get higher uploads and dls, but it fluctuates ALOT when more users use it.

Yeah, it is DSL. I'm staying away from cable for now.
