Have you ever noticed that no matter where you snipe MC, he dies? It could be in the head, hand or foot. I was once playing online and I zoomed in on one guy but he ran behind a warthog and all that I could see was his foot, so I just shot his foot twice and he died. At first, I thought that was a really good shot, but then it occurred to me that that was really unrealistic. Should the MC or any other characters in H2 be able to die from a gunshot wound anywhere on their body, or does it take the realness of the game away?

Um... I believe you need to switch sniper with magnum and Halo with CounterStrike. No, this has never happened to me. What you have experienced was some Really bad lag.

Well, realistically if you shot him twice with a sabot round in the foot... he wouldn't have a foot and he'd fall over. The third shot would easily finish him.

So... it's not all that unrealistic.

foot shots should be the weakest shots in the game... But I also think they should make the rate of fire lower and also make it like the rifle in Return to Castle Wolfenstein... I want to actually feel as though I have some skill when I snipe... (with a better set of crosshairs mind you... I dislike the wolfenstein crosshairs for the sniper rifle...

Oh yes... I'd love it if the scope turned off the moment you started moving faster then a walking pace, and if it had a jitter to it that settled the longer you remained still.

That's, another thing entirely though

oh! I thought you said one shot to kill them anywhere! Sorry, yes I do agree, if someone is shot in the foot, I don't think they should die (maybe in like 4 shots, but I highly doubt anyones going to be aiming for feet now are they? lol)

I killed people in the toe. It is possible in real life to kill someone with a leg shot from a large round. The bullet makes the body and blood vibrate inside and it damages some organs. But this is ridiculous

The Master Chief emerged from his code. After seeing his dynamically lit realtime shadow, he went back for 9 more months of development.

Behold the power of the Originals, the Gods Axeone-Neurone.

I thought about this too. That maybe they should decrease the health loss when shot in the extremites, but keeping the damage the same is very realistic.

The extremeties have the weakest armor. So it will take less rounds to penetrate. Where as the chest has the most armor, which takes more rounds to penetrate.

Example (no shields) 3 pistol shots:
Shot to the arm
* Armor would defelct first shot.
* Second and third would penetrate the arm causing damage.

Shot to the chest
* Armor would defelct first 2 shots.
* Third shot would penentrate the chest.

These would cause the same amount of health loss, 2 shots through the arm and 1 through the chest. The damage is balanced because the armor coverage is not the same.

if i shoot somone in the foot twice with a sniper rifle, i dont want them to die imediatly, i want them to limp away and slowly bleed to death

I'd like to see them die slowly, and in pain, also. It's more fun that way.

I could care less. The way I see it, if I can kill you with a 14.5mm APFSDS round to the foot, then I'll do it. A shot is a shot, as long as it kills.

erm.. one question for you guys..

since when is Halo realistic?

i quote a famous philosopher..

In the dictionary, next to the word "bull-blam!-", is a picture of Halo.

don't get me wrong. i love the game, or else i wouldn't be here.

but really.. aliens, the flood.. do you guys call all of this, "realistic"?

if you do, it's time to put the controller down.. perhaps, contact a psychiatrist..

Its a very slim possibilty and Halo is more realistic than some game i.e. super mario, jet set radio etc.

Aliens on other planets with our intelligance or higher IS a possibility and although I dont see the point to making a ring world just to seal away a species is practical it could happen. Theres alot of unknown mysteries in the universe but aliens are a probability.

ANyway I understand completely what you mean. However, its an FPS so pressure points should be as realistic as possible.

Ha, if you think that is unrealistic, than melee a guy in the back of his right heel. GO AHEAD!

TRY IT!!!!

wait wait! Do you guys know exactly how big that sniper bullet is? It doesnt show it but shooting master chief in his foot would take his whole leg off. The bullet in the sniper rifle on the game is about roughly 2 mm bigger bullet than a .50 sniper bullet. So this is a freakn huge bullet. I know it doesn't show the animation but master chief would be dead if he got shot in the foot with one of those bullets twice!

You couldnt do that because after the first shot your foot would be missing

Complaints like this are ridiculous, the gameplay calls for there to be collision points on the body where damage is dealt when hit by weapons fire, but subjigating body parts into points of less or more damage would be restrictive to the simplistic and amazing gameplay that Halo creates. If you want it to do less damage to health then he shouldnt be able to walkk on that leg either, limping into the sniper's range anyway. If it aint broke don't fix it, and Halo is definately not broken.

Besides, actually the shielding is at its weakest on the feet and hands so he can walk and manipulate weaponry, so it'd do more damage to him through the shielding there. And yeah, if you wanna complain about non realistic damage, smack someone in the right schin (spell?). Go ahead, stand below them somewhere on an MP map and smack their lower right leg, it'll give you loads to cry about.
