Well, to tell the truth, I feel that the humans are directly connected to the Forerunners.
With 343 GS talking all that mad crazy about the MC, his armor, his last visit...

And with the covies only, mostly, having "adapted" technology... they could not have
been related to the FR.

So, did (do) we go back in time (or did the doctor?) and actually build, or cause another human like race to build, the HALOs?

Maybe ONI attempt to take out the covies 1,000+ years before all this, go back in time and mess up... thus the warning about "us".

The MC and the other Spartans did have feelings of the FR tech. being "familiar".(?)
How... dejavu? In reverse?

Please let us know your thoughts.

I...don't...understand

There are 10 kinds of people in the world: those who know binary, and those who don't.

look for my post titled halo theories(back a bit) it hihnk it has a more detailed and final approach to this. and as other people have told me, i'll tell u. not really a new idea. good to put it out there(again) tho cause its seems to me like a really important and interesting idea. i could rant about it for hours on end.

I just want to see a forerunner. I hope they look cool.

With B.B. gone, the passion of Bungie.net has lessened.

Idk... I just think it makes too much sense for Humans to be evolved (or devolved, depending on how you look at it) Forerunners.

Personally, I think that the Spartans were infused with Forerunner DNA (is that the right word? infused?... I'm not sure) during the augmentation procedure... Perhaps doing this "forced" some Forerunner memories (some writers use this unconcious genetic memory "theory" in their books) into the unconcious level in the Spartans... I know that this is a long-shot... But, its not unlikely that Humans have access to Forerunner DNA, since the Forerunner left ruins underneath Reach, on Sigma Octanus IV, and probably Earth as well. After all, ONI did know about (somewhat) the underground Forerunner stuff on Reach (they just didn't know how to open the doors). They could've found some fossilized or preserved remains of an actual Forerunner...

Again, I only think this because to me, it just makes too much sense that we're related to the Forerunner. And I wouldn't trust what 343 says... Methinks he's missing a few wires in his circuits... After all, he's been on Halo--alone (presumeably)-- for 100,000+ years.

good theory

I've got more... lots more. If you want to see some neat theories, go to Halo National's Index (halonational.com then click "forums"). There's some all over the place there. The big ones are usually from a guy named Texas Ben, and myself.

I have always thought the same thing

Saying that Forerunners are ancestors of Humanity is too much of a simple aproach for Bungie... They make very deep story lines... The truth will blow our minds away. And that will be a good thing.

Maybe simple, but again, what is a better twist in a good movie, a stranger or a close friend?

it is an interesting idea that humans and FR are somehow connected, but what if it is three sided. What if the FR are the ancestors of both humans and the covenent.

I was also thinking that the flood was created by the FR (kind of like how the humans in Starcraft created the Zerg). It would explain why they went through so much trouble to control the flood.

The biggest thing that bugs me right now is how much it is going to suck to play through Halo 2 and have even more queastions and theories than now. If halo 2 is a hit, you know that they are going to make a third.

*SPOILER*
I remember reading in the book "First Strike" that the crystal Dr. Halsley was looking for not only bent space, but time as well. Maybe a long time ago, the flood nearly wiped out all sentient life in the galaxy, so the Forerunner decided to create all of the Halo's to contain the flood. They must have somehow used the crystals to travel back in time, before all hell broke loose.

Just a thought...:)

Definitely. I remember most of the Bungie games were trilogies. I wouldn't be suprised if they had more stories to tell in the Halo universe...Here's hoping :\

Oh, right. Sorry about that. Won't happen again.

I wasn't actually trying to advertise... just saying that there are some more theories over there. But you're right.... I should've cought myself on that one.
