What is the deal with the new grenade, does anybody know. I know it seems to detonate on impact, but I heard it was just a stun grenade or something.

i dont think it dtonates on impact. in fact im sure of that. it does blow up quickly, thos, like the human frag. and its been speculated that its either a stun or flashbang. i go with flashbang, and thats why no one looked in the area when the nade explodes...

all this is from the E3'03 demo, if anyone doesnt know.

Here intead of the big fancy tank he was talking about how about just a variant of the scorpion (hey the warthog has like 20 variants now) thats called the heavy scorpion, black colouring, and double cannons in front, and mabey a lil' extra armour, and how about its more of a longer range weapon like an artillary then like the normal scorpion so the main cannon ammo lobs kinda like a fuel rod so you can hit bases from oer hills but its harder to hit things closer? i dont know woul dbe more balance dthat way.

It isnt a stungrenade nor a flashbang. Its a frag grenade. Now enemys that are near one are stunned for a little bit after it explodes. I know this because Shiska actually confirmed it.

Well since everyone is -blam!-ing about my cool tank, how about this: MA7B Battle Rifle: 2x to10x scope, elongated barrel for better accuracy, built in M208 grenade launcher which has a 4 grenade magazine on the side, 30 round clip. Fires semi-auto. Or perhaps you would like the M92 double barrel shotgun, 16 rounds, 8 for each barrel.

these are NOT my ideas, im not responsible for them.

Vehicles
WRAITH MORTAR TURRET

the turret would look like the wraith cannon on tha wraith tank, on top of a shade-like pedestal, but a whole lot bigger than the shade. tha wraith turret would have three wraith shooting barrels that rotate while firing. tha rate of fire would be alot faster than tha wraiths and would have no 3 second pause (because of tha multiple rotating turrets), but would shoot alot slower than an assault rifle and a little slower than a shade turret.

Tracker

(Covie)- floating 2 player vec, 1 drives, 1 shootz heavy needler cannon. The needler rounds explode on contact and track a lot longer than regular needler rounds and they cause splash damage when they hit.

Gargantua (Covie)-

very slow moving machine of death, seats 4, 1 driver w/forward plasma guns, one player manning beam emitter turret (equivalent 2 tank turret w/slower moving projectile that causes bigger explsion), and two pulse gunnesr (heavy plasma shotz)

Human Helicopter:

some kind of futuristic helicopter. tha pilot can shoot two sets of dual rockets every 5 seconds (these rockets seek fighters and banshees), passangers can shoot powerful, mounted heavy machine guns located in either side of tha helicopter. holds 4 (1 pilot, 1 passenger next to pilot [shootz equiped weapons], 2 gunners. All passengers can parachute out.

Human Fighter

Located only in large maps because of its speed. Very fast fighter that shoots dual gatling guns. The fighter has very little armor and can be shot down easily (2 sniper shots or ne equivelent does tha trick).

Pelican (modified):

seats 8, 1 pilot, 6 passangers, one back gunner (a gatling turret located on tha back of tha pelican that can point striaght down at tha ground, up, and forward, even more powerful than hog’s turret and has explosive rounds). all passangers can parachute out. Also serves as a mobile spawn point.
Offers lots of armor protection.


Orb (covenant):

basically a round orb thing that can fly in every direction (side 2 side, up, down, forward, backward) with a shade turret on tha bottom of it. Tha Orb doez not need acceleration to stay in tha air like tha banshee. Dosent offer 2 much armor protection.

Gatling Tank

Very Slow tank with a gatling gun in the front that’s as powerful as the hog’s but shoots slower. Alternate shoot rockets that seek banshees and fighters. These rockets are horrible against infantry because they move relli relli slow until they pick up a banshee or fighter as a target.

LEVITHAN

covie boat that is piloted by 1 person, has another person gunnning heavy artilery plasma cannons. Players of the team can spawn onboard and then go to a capsule where they press theyr use key and enter tha capsule. when they click left mouse theyr shot into tha air in some sort of covie glider. either that or when they go in tha capsule they choose theyr coordinates and then theyr launched there in a covie pod that's shot into tha air and then impacts on tha ground where it then opens to let tha player out.


Scout

Kind of a two seater hog with treads that can climb most walls without much difficulty. on back is sum kind of machine gun cannon with 2 barrels. they shoot explosive shells at a moderate rate that arent 2 powerful, but have a big and powerful shockwave. Think of tha artilery guns on a destroyer, kind of a miniture version of that.

Jackrabbit

A covie vehicle that can cover long distances quikly. tha way it travels is by creating a gravity rupture beneath it and bouncing into tha air to hop frum place 2 place. while in tha air it drops purple needle grenade, that on explosion let of a big cloud of needles. For balancing purposes, when it arc through tha air it moves slow, so it can b shot down. to give an idea of wut these will look like, they bear a strong resenblance 2 shade turrets.

ARACHNID

Like tha jackracbbit where it can climb walls but shoots a fast plasma gatling gun that gets more inaccurate in long range. Looks like a shade pod with spider legs.

ARC-RUNNER
A covie hover vec similar to tha ghost but in front is a big arc of electricity. This vec would be great for ramming, cuz whenever u hit another vec, the electricity sends it flying through tha air (this includes tanks) and knocks tha passenger out 2 b ramed into tha air or shocked by tha arc in front. tha primary fire sends out bolts of electricity that can shock multiple players at once and has a chain effect.


GROUNDSHAKER

A sleek human, three-wheeled vehicle that shoots flak cluster bombs (when they explode, they shoot out more flak bombs) that explode after about 1/4 of a second as it moves. The Groundshaker shoots tha bombs from 5 places, both sides of tha vehicle, out tha back and in between, at a rate of a bomb from all three dispensers every 3/4 of a second. The Groundshaker moves about as fast as a ghost and only fits one person. After firing out 5 bombs out of every dispenser, it has a 3 second reload. Secondary fire make blades come out tha sides of tha vehicle like tha Scorpian in UT 04.


SPEAR-RUNNER

2 person, triangular-shaped Human vec. One person drives, and to tha right of him is a mounted Spear turret which another player mans. The driver can shoot a machine gun that's only about as powerful as the scorpion tanks, but is more accurate. The spear turret has two barrels, one on top of the other, that rapidly shoot spears as fast as tha pistol shoots bullets. The gunner's alt fire detonates all spears. To detonate tha spears the gunner has to pause firing and hold alt fire for two seconds. Detonated spears explode with as much power as frag grenades.

TELEPORTER HOG (by furiousG)

Very fast hog with no guns and a teleporter in tha back. The driver can launch telebombs (grenade-like things that make a cloud of smoke that functions as a teleporter to the back of the hog.) The driver can only have one telebomb active at a time (when another is launched, the previous tele-cloud disappears).

SPINFIRE

a fast, one person, Floating covie vec that looks like the shade turret seat with spikes all over it. holding Primary makes the Spinfire spin, making it able to easily tip over vehicles. holding secondary fire makes the Spinfire invisible to all other players (well not completely invisible, you can still see tha glimmer, like when you pick up the invisibility powerup), but only for 10 seconds before having to recharge for 20 seconds. While the Spinfire is invisible, it also makes no sound to other players. Also while tha Spinfire is invisible, you can still see it, u'll just see a bubble around it to indicate it's in invisible mode.

STRIKER mobile missile platform

a slow moving 3 person truck with one driver, one passanger that can shoot out the window, and one gunner in tha back. The gunner can fire missiles at a rate of 2 missiles per second. the missiles have a big arc and only do about as much damage as a frag grenade but have a big shockwave with lots of splash damage that knocks over vehicles and sends infantry flying. The Striker has a very hard time climbing hills, so you wont see any games where the Striker dominates a map by just parking on top of a big hill. The Stiker can fire 8 missiles before having to take 6 seconds to reload (8 missiles in 4 seconds.)

BOMBER

Big, slow moving human aircraft that can hold 2. One driver who drops tha bombs and one gunner.

The bomber can drop 6 bombs one after another straight below it. The bombs are as powerful as a tank shell explosion but with a bigger shockwave.

The bomber also can hold a gunner on top that can bring down aircraft that chase it. The gunner can't shoot at the ground unless the driver tilts the bomber forward. The turret manned by the gunner shoot flak shells that explode when they come in contact with nething, or when an enemy is nearby.

Though the bomber is very powerful and can take alot of damage, it's bane is how slow it moves and how big it is, making it an easy target.

BEHEMOTH transport vehicle

pretty much a gigantic treaded truck that also functions as a spawn point for players and ATV's. The Behemoth will be about as long as a pelican and almost as wide. The truck has one driver, and one gunner on top of the truck. The gunner will man a rotating three barrled guass cannon which rounds have tha a lil less than the power of frag grenades. Players can spawn in tha back of the truck and then ride atv's out an opening in tha back. The Behemoth is huge and slow moving, making it an easy target, but has lots of armor. The Behemoth must have a driver to function as a spawn point, so a player can't just park a behemoth behind an enemy base and then leave or nething. Also, tha hellbender cannot function as a spawn point when flipped over.

ATV

An atv that has dual forward-mounted machine guns.

Weapons
Earthquake (Heavy human prototype weapon)-

Shootz a projectile that arcs into tha ground and explodez forward (causing a line of explosion). for exaple, a hog is driving at u 2 run u over, u sidestep and shoot 2 ur left causing a line of explosionz that tha hog drives into and flips.

Plasmathrower (covie)-

shoots a cloud of plasma that is a lot more concentrated than that of tha flamethrower, almost like a hose, but shootz farther.

light saber

a super weapon like tha rocket launcher. When u pick it up u get force powerz: super jump, half-life-like running speed, lightning, force defense (block shotz wit saber), and heal. when u have tha saber u go 2 3rd person view. primary is a saber swing (left mouse) that aims for u (meaning if u r close enough 2 a person u can just click and u automatically swing towards them even if u were facing a diff way). tha secondary (zoom button) wuld throw tha lightsaber where it wuld then come back 2 u. if ne1 is touched by tha saber, theyre instanly killed, just like in jedi knight 2.

Anti-air rocket launcher

Extremly ineffective against infantry but great against air targets. Moves relli slow until it finds a bomber, fighter, or banshee.

CLOUDBOMBER (covie)

Shoots a blue plasma bomb that has the power of a wraith mortar, and also arcs, but moves alot faster. When the round explodes, a blue-purple cloud and more, tinier plasma bombs shoot out that have the same, but lesser effect. If the blue purple-cloud of gas touches anyone, the player's screen oozes and blurs like theyr on crack or sumthin, kinda like the start of maxpayne 2 and they are drained of their sheilds the longer the gas touches them. The gas spreads out slowly of its initial cloud and can suck all your sheilds in about 3 seconds of contact.The first bomb lets out two smaller bombs with lesser power that spread less gas, each of those bomb let out two smaller ones and so on and so forth. The second bombs have tha power of fuel rods and the tiny last ones have the power of a pistol shot if you're in a 3 foot radius of them. This gun will only have one or two shots, because it would be a very effective weapon, because it can fill about a tenth of bloodgulch with sheild sucking gas and minibombs in one blast.

FIREDUSTER

A hovering vehicle that shoots flames out from under it. To make it go up so u can flame something under it, u press tha jump key. 2 make it go down, u press crouch. A turret that shoots incendenary grenades can b manned by another player in the back of the vehicle. This vec could b either covie or human, but if it turns out bein covie, its gunna b plazma instead of fire.

Bomber Version 2

Another faster, sleeker version of the bomber where instead of the pilot dropping the bombs, the job is handled by 2 gunners on flak bomb turrets on either side of the bomber. The turrets face diagonally slanting towards tha ground. In this version, there is no flak cannon on tha top of the bomber and the pilot has dual forward mounted machine guns.

REAPER turret

A human turret that shoots lots of mini missiles. The player presses alt fire 2 launch tha missiles out of their pods and then presses fire to guide them to a target.

Tha way this works is that if tha player dosent press fire after tha missile are launched with alt fire, they fizzle out and fall to tha ground . When the player presses fire after the missles are launched, the backs of the missiles ignite to propel the missiles towards where they are being guided (think of machine gun shells after they are spent as tha rockets before they are guided, they fall to tha ground uselessly. When fire is pressed, exhaust shoots out tha back and they fly forward towards the target.

The Reaper turret kinda look like it has pipe organs on either side of its base, these are the missile pods. They shoot the missiles arcing up into the air, where they wait to be guided.

MODIFIED PELICAN version two (my favorite vec idea so far, read it)

The ultimate transportation vehicle. This version of the modified pelican is extremely heavily armored. There is a driver, a flak gunner on top to take out opposing aircraft, and six lifepods (3 on each side of the pelican) that can shoot troops down to the ground. This version of the pelican has no seats in back, the troops who ride it sit in the lifepods, waiting to launch themselves into a hotspot on the ground to help out with firefights or to capture an enemy flag. When there is less than 6 people in the lifepods, players of the pelican driver's team can spawn in them. When a lifepod lets out its passanger, it respawns on the pelican, waiting for players to spawn inside it. This version of a pelican can also have its pilot pick up and drop ground vehicles.

BATTLE SUIT

yeah i no itz mad generic, but it wuld b great in halo. Tha battle suit would b a big robotic suit (kinda like a mech, but alot smaller) that wuld greatly enhance tha cheifs combat abilty's. It can jump higher (and has a boost jump [when you press jump a second time after tha first, rocket jets will propel u into the air], run alot faster, and can take big falls (about tha height of jumping off a cliff in death island without taking any damage. The Battle Suit has a single barreled rocket launcher on one hand and a chain gun on the other (not as powerful as the hog's of course). To use the right hand you press fire and left hand is alt fire.








NADES

Tracer Bomb

Picked up as a third type of grenade. This little covie robot is guided by tha player into something where it explodes. when tha player guides this mini bomb he'z totally exposed.

Needle Grenade

A purple grenade that when thrown, just hit tha ground and dont bounce or stick to nething. they have tha same explosion time as tha plas grenade. on explsion they let out a large cloud of covie needles that seekout ne enemy near by.

Flame Grenade

A human grenade that bounces like tha normal grenade and leaves a trail of smoke and flame when thrown through tha air. theyr detonation time is about a little less then that of a plas grenade and more then a human grenade. these grenades are rare cuz theyr gunna b powerful. instead of exploding, a lil sprayer rotates in a circle while letting out a cloud of flame over a radius of about 5 meters or more.

DISORIENTER 'NADE (human grenade)

When it hits a solid surface it explodes causing shaking on ne1 who is nearby's screen. This also lets out gas that disorients vision (an can provide cover). when tha gas hits a player, tha player gets temporarily stunned.

SHOCK GRENADE

On explosion, shoots electricity in all directions that drains all sheilds from infantry and disables (makes unable to move or shoot) all vehicles it hits. Explodes on contact.

ION BOMB

a human Super Grenade that will either be placed in tha middle of a map, like rocket launchers, or hidden. When you press left mouse, tha grenade will be set down and set up on ur current position. . Once tha bomb is set there will be an announcer voice saying "ion bomb set, detonation in 5, 4...". When the bomb is placed, it may be destroyed by the opposing team. Tha bomb explodes after 5 seconds. The explosion radius (which kills ne player it touches) covers about half of blood gulch and the shockwave, which at most will take away sheilds and 3 points of health, covers tha rest.

TELEPORTER GRENADE

Acually a pair of grenades in one package. The player places one grenade on solid ground in any location and tha other grenade in any location creating a 2-way teleporter system that may only be used by that player's team (when tha teleporter system is created, it will be tha tha color of tha team it wuz created by). If this becomes too unbalanced in playtesting, an update could be that tha teleporters can be destroyed or that tha teleporters can be used by both teams. Tha teleporters will look like tha one'z in monoxide's tha library mod. If tha placer of a teleporter grenade is killed before tha scond grenade can be placed, tha first grenade disapears.


GRAPPLE GRENADE

covie grenade that, when thrown, it drags tha player through tha air with it through sum kind of plasma-y link thing. When tha front of tha link hits a solid object (ground, player, vehicle) it electricutes it before draging tha player to it.


AIRSTRIKE BEACON

a super grenade (hidden somewhere in tha map) that you drop right at ur feet. After that the grenade shoots a beam of light up through tha sky and calls in a covie warship, like the T&R, to conduct an airstrike on the spot of the beacon. When tha covie warship is in position, it emits a big laser-ish column thingy that immediatly kills nething it touches. then after tha energy column has hit the ground for about 2 seconds (the ground shakes during this period) an explosion billows out from the spot where the energy column hit. The explosion is as big as half of BG. Think of independance day. Im pretty sure u can't do this with HEK, but its a cool idea.



These were ideas for HEK. thats why you might see "HEK" alot.

hey stealthcow good ideas but try to make them a little more conventional and realistic,and fit better into the Halo universe and not fall into Half-Life or some other futuristic shooter. did you see my ideas??

how about an old style Russian Soyuz rocket! you launch it near your enemy's base, and it explodes into a 2 mile high column of fire before it leaves the ground, obliterating anything nearby.

bah no chain guns.the LAAG is ok,but no M60's or MG-42's or M249 SAW's.that doesnt fit into the Halo universe. dart gun is more Splinter Cell. which people would like because theyre stupid and think that Halo 2 will incorporate stealth,just because lights can be shot out.

i didn't say it was a good idea, it would serve no purpose. the dart just hurts when it sticks in. It would be funny to watch a Grunt squirm in agony when I dart it.

or lets have a back pak helicopter so we can board banshees, pelicans and whatever else that flies

or a space ship that fires a full size energy progector that liquidates the entire map


on a more serious note a smaller EP mounted on a waith with a turet that is devestating against vehecles but is only pinpoint and slow firing so not good against infantry

or a ruber dingie so we can sail in big puddles with a mounted rocket launcher/LAAG that can carry wartys and scorpies

or mayby a jeep with 4 wheels, two useless tow hooks and a mounted weapon on the back and lets call it a PUMA or maybe a walruss

Last time I checked, those guns you named aren't chain guns! Besides, you cant
choose stealth all the time, like a bunch of Elites trying to kick your ass. That would be a good situation for a heavy machine gun. Or a gold Elite charging you,
you could slow his charge with the sheer power of the gun and kill him quicker.

Ya know what else might be cool: yanking a LAAG off a busted hog and using that. To make it fair you could only fire 100 rounds then ya drop it. The Chief's strong enough, he could do it. And Kelly did it in First Strike.
