You know, wouldn't Halo PC be better if you could talk to people online instead of having to type? I think it would be a lot better to be able to talk to people using a headset or mic like on Xbox Live. Do you know what I'm saying? What are your opinions about this?

That is what the headset is for. Tell you what, how would you like to join my group? Just look for The Sheep Pasture. It's as funny as hell, well actually funnier but still, it is funny. Plus C men and I are part of a good clan called TOC, sometime you should tryout under their games.

Heyyo,

You kiddn' me? I play CS a bit, and on 1337 servers, if you don't have a mic you're ridiculed, and sometimes kicked. :p

On CS, for actual good teamwork you need a mic, or you get spanked bad. I usually say "dummies follow the guy with the mic.." and lead them into an ambush as I run around the back and flank some enemy's. High entertainment value, and I get some fools slaughtered... all inna days work. ;)

I don't care, I don't have teamspeak or a microphone so it's not I can do anything with it if there was a patch. If there was a patch, I don't think it should be mandatory becuase some people won't have the things needed to talk online.

Lol, leading people into ambushes.

You CAN talk to people on-line.

Teamspeak allows you to yabber on to whoever you want about whatever you want. Most games allow it it just runs in the background while you play.

Yeah really, Teamspeak is an awesome program.
I suppose a voice patch would be useful, but equally, everyone on XBL just spams the voice channels with meaningless garbage, or music, both of which ruin the game. Those of us who need voice communication (clans etc) already have it in the form of private teamspeak channels, were it can be admined and regulated.
Considering Bungie can't even be arsed to moderate serial team killers on their regular servers, imagine the kind of filth they'd allow on a voice server.

Heyyo,

Ya know what game had incredible support for communication? UT2k4.

Ingame text to whoever you want (1 person, team, all, enemy only.)
Voicechat (public, team, enemy, or toggle them so be like enemy & public only, etc)
IRC chat (ingame! w00t!)
Text-to-speech (teh shizzle).

:)

Of course it wouldn't be mandatory. It would just give you the option of either talking to people via a headset or mic or you could just type which takes longer and when you type you take the chance of being killed while you are typing and are helpless. In BF2 (Battlefield 2) You use headsets and or mics to talk and you have a general who sees the whole map from a birds eye view and he gives commands to his team. When you pre-order it you get the headset free. But it would be a lot easier to just be able to talk to people rather than type or having to use a seperate program like ts. I have ts and it has never worked for me. I think it is probably my motherboard that it is not recognizing my mic. or it could be that the mics I tried are too old. But I think it is the plug in the back of the motherboard that causes the problems. Also, all you need to talk online is a headset or mic to talk online. A headset costs about $20 and a mic can cost from about $10 and up. But it also depends on if the game supports it which I think Halo should, but if it doesn't you can just use a free program like ts. But some people like me would rather have it built into the game.
