See, as good as that sounds, Bill Gates doesn't want you to do that, and so you can't. Which is another example how all xbox devotees are so totally owned by Bill, and they have no idea of how screwed over they are. You can't play Halo 2 with a modded xbox, even though you own your xbox? That's just sad.
The solution to you problem would be to get a system which allows you freedom and support to do what you want with your games, to make the most of them. A PC, that is. If you're unable to get a PC to do this job then you'll either have to be content with what your daddy Mr.Gates says you can do, or you can void your warranty on your xbox and disable the ability to play Halo 2 on XBL, which in a way would be a blessing because you wouldn't be paying Bill for multiplayer which PC gamers get for free.
