I was just thinking that every hero has a secret identity much like Master Chief.. but we always get to see their face. Just like Superman is Clark Kent. What do you think? Please explain your answers.

The Master Chief's identity is for all purposes in the video game not important. The reason is because the psychology that goes into the emotional link that they player has to the character that they have control of. The MC's name is John Spartan-117. He does not hide his identity to anyone in particular and certainly does not go grocery shopping in his MJOLNIR armour, although some forms of grapefruit could be better picked using night vision and infrared.

Ahh! MC's true Identity is Martha Stuart! AHHHH! (JK) we know his name is John, and he is Spartan 117. I don't want to see his face. (in the book, he's all pale white from lack of sun)

The MC's face is supposed to be your own. Why else would they have not let you see it in Halo. It was before the books, before it was a big hit. Not many games do this. I am glad that they didn't show the face.

actually, if you read the books, most of the spartans stay in their armor as much as possible, they consider it a second skin and feel vulnerable and exposed out of it. and yeas, john's face is very pale because he never takes his armor off.

What Bungie was trying to do was make the player think he (or she) is MC. That's why we'll never see his face. So it makes us feel like we're saving the galaxy and human race from destruction.

I would say yes, if you had a scene like in Halo The Flood book, were he was taking temporary down time, and talking to some COs. That would be cool, but you would totally ruin a movie, though cause no one could do MC like the digital MC. But it would be good to see him and the other spartans, that way cause even though they seem invincible they are mortal just like us.

It would be a good scene and I like the idea. Still, you woudln't need to see his face. Excellent camera angles and proper applications of shadows would serve to make the Chief that much more mysterious.
