LIFE'S REALITIES
Disclaimer: The following list has been attributed to Bill Gates. However, there is no confirmation that he wrote it, nor can it be found on any of his websites. It was more likely written by someone else as a response to Gates' book which listed twelve new rules for business. The following list is therefore posted here on HarrisOnline.com with no attribution (until the author's identity is verified), merely for your enjoyment.

Here is a list of realities that many high school and college graduates did not learn in school, which they may want to take to heart:

Life is not fair. Get used to it.
The world won't care about your self-esteem. The world will expect you to accomplish something before you feel good about yourself.
You will not make $40,000/year right out of high school. You won't be a vice president with a car phone, until you earn both.
If you think your teacher is tough, wait till you get a boss. He doesn't have tenure and he doesn't have to put up with you just because you stay in your seat.
Flipping burgers is not beneath your dignity. Your grandparents had a different word for burger flipping. They called it opportunity.
If you mess up, it is not your parents' fault. So don't whine about your mistakes, learn from them.
Before you were born, your parents weren't as boring as they are now. They got that way from paying your bills, cleaning your clothes, and listening to you talk about how cool you are. So, before you save the rain forest from the parasites of your parents' generation, try delousing the closet in your own room.
Your school may have done away with winners and losers, but life has not. Some schools have abolished failing grades, allowing you as many times as you want to get the right answer. This doesn't bear the slightest resemblance to anything in real life.
Life is not divided into semesters. You don't get summers off, and very few employers are interested in helping you find yourself. Do that on your own time.
Television is not real life. In real life, people actually have to leave the coffee shop and go to their jobs.
Be nice to nerds. Chances are you'll end up working for one.

Nice.

Can I request that you stop copy-pasting from HarrisOnline.com? If we wanted to read everything there, we'd just go there. No need for 5+ threads on it.

sure, no problem, I though it was an effective way to start topics other than "skip 3 objectives" and "halo 2 atv", its the same kind of stuff that gets posted all the time, I just found a good place to get some odd stuff, but in the same instance, how many things from albinoblacksheep get posted each day? couldnt we all just go there? we could, but we couldnt discuss it together could we, unless someone started a topic about it, then were back to square one, so thanks ,

That's true. But at least space them out somewhat - Not one right after another, it just gets tedious.

You are on a forum to read people's posts and respond. So that is what this person is doing. Giving you something to read.

/Sigh. I'm going to stop posting in this thread, because apparently people are interpreting what I said wrong.

Five Tenets of Bungie.net Forum Life:
1. Trolls will always be well fed.
2. Blame-ability thy name is stosh.
3. Bungie has no control over retail prices.
4. Watch out for low-flying defense drones.
5. Seven is not optional, but rather, an inevitability.

That very list is posted in at least six places in my computer classroom. It speaks the tru7h.
