Forget the Campaign mode...if Bungie came out with an expansion to Halo 2 that was nothing but new multiplayer content (maps, weapons, etc) but still used the same graphics, engine, etc, would you buy it?

I ask this since Halo CE has come out, there is a lot of new maps and ideas out there. Since Bungie has already set a release date for Nov. 9 for Halo 2, they can't just add any extra content they want. No doubt they'll see a lot of ideas they like with the customer created content for Halo CE but won't have the time to add it to Halo 2. But what if they came out with an additional MP-only game that had the ideas that they couldn't put in Halo 2 or didn't have room for?

I'm all for it :).

Probably not. For me, the campaign mode and the story (coupled with the gameplay of course) is the backbone and the main thrill of Halo. The multiplayer mode, while fun, is more like frosting on the cake.

i would still buy a multiplayer expansion for the original halo if it had all of the content of the pc version like the fuel rod cannon, flame thrower, banshees, and a few new levels. id pay like 40 dollars for it.

To do that they would simply release it for download via Xbox Live and then later put the content into discs of official xbox magazine.

LIVE downloads would be more likely, but if they did do a multiplayer spin off (a good example being turok rage wars) i would still buy it because, well, its halo

I know Halo2 is going to be fantastic, but they wouldn't need to make us fork up more money for a few more maps, i'm sure they'll include everything that they want to

halo 2 may end up being the only halo we will get for another 3 years. i think that bungie will release tons of downloaable content. if nothing else new levels would be awesome.

I'm not talking about a few more maps that Bungie could leach a few more bucks off of us from...no, I'm talking about a full disk of content.

I like the idea of LIVE downloads...but I'm also talking about helping to finance possible future versions of Halo :).

They've had a few downloadable levels for Rainbow Six and Splinter Cell 1 in the past, I'm pretty sure they would release extra levels for Halo 2 dont you?

bungie is going to get all of the possible funding that they need from microsoft. they r not going to deny the developer of the game that singlehandedly sold a few million xboxes the funding that they need to make another stellar installment in their series. they will most likely distribute the downloadable content through live.

if halo 1 was live enabled im positive that we wouldve gotten at least five new multiplayer levels since it will be the only halo on the market for like 3 years. i am very confident that bungie will release downloadable content for halo 2

Yes I would. The only reason I even own Halo or Xbox for that matter is for multiplayer. My first time playing was at a 12 person LAN and I will never forget that night. The next day I went out and bought Xbox and Halo and have been playing ever since!

I think that an expansion won't be neccesary since the guys at Bungie will be working on it to make it great, though I might download a new map or mod.

if they included a map editor that would defeat the purpose for downloadable content.

Would I buy a MP expansion?
Two words: HELL YES!!!
Mainly because, first, Bungie said they would not release a Map Editor for the Xbox version (I think that was in the Pete Parsons interview...maybe somewhere else). Second, why not put the extra content onto a new disk? I'm sure they'll have small stuff for Xbox Live downloadable content, but they probably won't release entire levels. Why do that when there's profit to be made???

Also, Pooperscooper, don't flame. There's really no reason to, and it makes you look immature. Just state your opinion and move on.
