Thus he came alone to Angband's gates, and he sounded his horn, and smote once more upon the brazen doors, and challenged Morgoth to come forth in single combat. And Morgoth came.

Ok why can't people join my servers?

I posted this on another forum on another site and got this reply:

"unblock ports 2302 and 2303"

What are those, and how would I go by doing that?

Yes, I am a hypocrite, and I'm sorry. I really do mean well, but I'm not running on all cylinders.

Everytime someone buys a copy of Halo 2 Vista, a puppy dies.

If you use a router, make sure you have the brand, model, and the password to configure it. Then go here. Also, you may have to configure (or shut down) Windows Firewall. The only port you need to open usually is 2302, UDP.

But i don't really know where to start...
I have trouble understanding how to work with routers and modems.

Okay, i went to the control panel, opened windows firewall, went to the menu thing, selected exceptions, unchecked halo, and clicked ok.
It said other programs would be allowed through, or something.
Is that right?

Wait you unchecked halo? You want halo to be checked as an exception. You just made it even harder for people to join. Go check it again.

The other thing you need to do is to go to the portforward.com site n357 indicated above.

This is a quick guide of what you need to do:
1. go to command prompt (start - run - type in cmd and hit enter)
2. type in ipconfig /all and hit enter
3. Find the number after default gateway. Generally it's something like 192.168.1.1
4. Open web browser, type that in and hit enter.
5. Password, ask whoever manages the network in your house. If it's noone, probably just default password, which you can find online with a bit of googling. Need help, just pm me or post here.
6. In the router control panel, look for a section titled something like port forwarding, forwarding, or virtual networks.
7. Open the ports listed above, should be self explanatory.

If that didn't really make any sense, portforward.com probably does a better job explaining it, or just pm me.
