In halo 1 humans can use covie weapons and u do see them use them when u come across packs of marines.
And in multiplayer the elite players can use human weapons.
So does this mean that eites can use human guns in single player campaign.

i dont think they would want to, to keep with their whole religious quest thing against humanity they are on, they would think their weapons are better, and they are....

they most likely will not use human weapons

at least thats what i think

I dont think they will use them in single player because covenant think that human thechnology is inferior and will never use them even if their life depend about it

but towards the end of the game the humans will be winning and maybe some 'stragglers' get stuck in a building (say) and they run out of ammo. Even though they are relgiousley against humans they arnt stupid enough to just sit there and wait to be killed so they would pick up any gun near them and take as many down with them as possible.

We've also seen it reported that Elites "like" our warthogs so we might be seeing a change of mentality, especially if Elites actually have limited ammunition this time around.

Elites in Halo1 never ran out of battery no matter how many times they fired.

They would rather punch their way out of that mess.

EDIT: In " Halo: The Flood ", an Elite killed Captain Keye's crew members with an M6D Pistol. Odd, eh?

I don't think any covenant would use human weapons, except maybe grunts, they don't seem to care much for any of the covenant, infact i'm pretty sure in one of the books it says something about grunts being kidnapped from their homeworld... (correct me if i'm wrong). Eevn the jackals don't seem to want to use human weapons. It says in Fall of Reach how a jackal fought with his bare hands when he could hav easily picked up a human assault rifle next to him?!?!

They probably woulnt because of the fact that they would have to lose their origninal weapon and to do that they would die. Or maybe they added a new feature for them to swap weapons too. That would be cool.

To sum it all up into one post, no. The Covenant would not use any human made technology unless it is necessary to completing a Prophet-given mission. That's why that Elite in Halo: The Flood used the M6D pistol. Otherwise, they would rather fight to the death with their claws (I belive this happened it Halo: The Flood as well, where a Jackal lost it's plasma pistol and, despite the fact that there was an MA5B Assault Rifle lying at its feet, fought with its claws). It is sacreligious for them to use any sort of "inferior technology."
