1. Fix the BR Spread and make each shot come out at the same time like the Halo 2 BR style. and make the BR sound like Halo 2 it sounded more beastly

2. Set preset damage for the melee system, similar to the Halo 2 system.

3. Fix the netcode or hitbox inconsistencies. Improve the registration issues.

4. Bring back the Halo 2 button glitches. even though they were hated they did take skill to pull off in situations and it made game play faster and more exciting to watch.

5. Bring back quick reload and quick switching because the sword is useless with out that switching.

6. Bring back some classic maps like Beaver Creek, Warlock, Sanctuary but do them as they are dont try to change the look like blackout with the added barriers to block off some line of site and giving it a human look. just keep them the same

Fix the BR spread please, also if possible, get rid of the new melee system... it is more flawed than the old one. I could see the new one staying but please tweak it... 300 ms is far too big of a time window please adjust it to around150 or 100 or figure out a way to get rid of it on lan/system link. Also, consider lowering melee damage if possible. the beatdown is way too powerful as is.
WE NEED BETTER MAPS!!!! we have way too many gigantic sized maps with man cannons and grav lifts and opening gates and buttons and "fluff", which are just fillers that have no tactical reasoning behind them but are fun to look at, please consider making some small sized maps(asymmetrical and symmetrical) with smooth textures, long lines of sight, and NO STAIRS. You made two other games with AMAZING maps and there is still hope to fix the third. Foundry maps just dont cut it, im sorry. and if you're all out of creative juices why dont you reach out to the competitive community and ask what they want instead of abiding by every twelve year old who comes on this site screaming "I WANT RECON AND MOR FLAYMTHROWIRS PLEEZ!!!

I agree to alot of these.
Like being able to choose a certain map & a certain game.
Or the X, Y, and B to select a map instead of the regular vetoing thing.
It would be cool
if you could cook the frag. That way you have a better chance of killing someone.
Also, the frag grenades now: they stick to whatever they roll on. They need to be configured to where it doesn't stick. But insted, keeps rolling until the time to explode.

-Thanks.

Huge list of things that need to be fixed.

I think that there needs to be less objective games in BTB, or even better, make 2 separate BTB playlists. BTB slayer and BTB objective. Also, get rid of objective games in Lone Wolves and Head to Head. Make the hornet a lil bit more powerful on Avalanche, put Incendiary grenades into matchmaking either now, or in the next map pack.

After reading a few other people's posts, I'd like to reiterate what has been said about the maps. It is unlikely that a map which is good for 4v4 will also be good for 2v2 if they are identical so far as weapons are concerned.
Let me explain. In Halo 2, Midship and Warlock made brilliant 2v2s, as well as great 4v4s. But that was because there weren't many weapons. Warlock had a camo and 4 shotguns which were generally not used much as they weren't the powerhouse there are on H3, and Midship only had the sword and a shotgun. This meant that it wasn't possible for one team to completely dominate - there simply weren't enough power weapons.

But on, say, The Pit, there is:
Rockets
Sniper x 2
Overshield
Active Camo
Regenerator x 2
Sword
Shotgun x 2
Mauler x 2.

Pretty much on The Pit, if you don't have a power weapon, you're screwed. It's quite possible for a team to control rockets, both snipers as well as maybe shotgun and the regens. That works fine for 4v4, because there are twice as many people on the map, but just because it works well for 4v4 doesn't automatically make it great for 2v2. I think for Doubles, some weapons should be forged out so that they play well for 2v2. Of course, like Warlock and Midship, some maps will play well for both 4v4 and 2v2 - Narrows, for example, is a good 2v2 and 4v4 map, the only change I would suggest for 2v2 is to take out the shotgun.

Another thing that slightly bothers be is regenerators in BR gametypes. When THC first came out, in the statement it read something like, "Regenerators will be taken out as they are pretty much auto-win in BR fights". Why are they still in for BR starts then?

Many thanks.

I think one of the greatest improvements that can be made to halo 3 is to allow party leader in custom games to be given host. This improvement would allow host to be manageable to the players in a given party. Host selection in customs can sometimes be frustrating when trying to create a atmosphere that is fair and balanced for all players.

GT: GelatiCruiser

Chaosr: I hate Sniper Rifles. Why should Bungie even have them!? The other players jump so I can't make a headshot and then they get into cover until I die.
doc h0lidday:Mabye you should ask the other players to stand still untill you stop sucking.

I would also like better maps in H3. I'm not suggesting symmetrical or asymmetrical or anything like that....but (don't take this the wrong way) Bungie needs to stop stroking themselves when making maps. I think a large portion of the community prefers playable maps over pretty maps. It seems that Bungie has the tendency to throw in unnecessary add-ons like pretty computers and radios and wall cladding in the form of electronics etc...
Most of the BTB lovers like BTB maps because aesthetically, they're very simple maps. They're MONSTROUS outdoor maps that don't allow/aren't conducive to all the "pretty" texturing. They're designed mainly for gameplay. With all of the cladding that goes into some of the relatively "smaller" maps, it makes it harder to see, not as smooth to move around, harder to bounce grenades,etc... The maps are(and makers) areguilty of putting pretty things on their maps because they can, not because they add to the gameplay.

Cliff Notes: We want playable maps, not pretty maps. Simple structures, simple designs. It allows for a lot less opportunity to mess things up. Just a suggestions. Thanks.

Halo was a unique game, and like most people, Halo 1 was basically what brought me into the series. There are a number of things that were wrong with Halo 1 but it was far outweighed by the things that were done right.
To improve Halo 3, you people need to do more research. Play the Halo PC that you guys hired Gearbox to port. You can't base Halo 1’s gameplay over a few LANs. You have to go to a large enough community and see how people play it. You'd learn more about your own maps and how they are played and what type of maps the general population enjoyed playing. Also, take a leaf out of Gearbox's book. They added quite some interesting maps to Halo, all of which are good candidates for remakes in Halo 3. One example of this error is the removal of the tunnels from Avalanche because you felt it was useless. You guys need to probably get together with a semi-decent clan (I have contacts you can use) and you can learn how crucial the tunnels really were to Sidewinder.

The Battle Rifle
You'd also notice that spawning people with a battle rifle might not be such a bad idea. Sure, in Halo 1, the pistol dealt considerable damage and was a fast killer. But I know you guys are lying if you say you get 3-shot-kills consistently. I can't always do it and I've played this game for ages. A pistol fight was extremely different to a battle rifle fight. With a pistol, I can get 2 shots on someone and they can turn around and out-pistol me. You can't do that if you're 2 shots down in a battle rifle fight unless the other person has flippers for hands (or lagging).
Pistol battles were interesting since they taught a person to strafe and how to move, how to play smarter and it also rewarded people who worked hard to get good with it.
The battle rifle is the Halo 3 equivalent to the pistol so it stands to reason that this could be the replacement we need. One common misconception which causes the reluctance to this switch is that they believe that the other weapons would not be used... This is just plain silly. First of all, anyone who wants to use the battle rifle would crawl around looking for one anyway and thus would give the same effect. As people begin to get better they will begin to look more for the precision weapons. So by restricting them to annoying starting weapons, you're basically just slowing down the gameplay for them. Spawn people with both battle rifles and assault rifles and everyone will be happy.

The Spread
I have to admit it. You guys have no idea what balance is. You just don’t. The battle rifle is a precision weapon and thus if I aim at you in the same spot, there shouldn’t be a different outcome. Battle rifle battles are extremely random in Halo 3 and it irritates people. Sometimes the spread can be so bad, along with the terrible hit registration, so this can unbalance the game more than anything half the time. Try to keep the game consistent! The assault rifle is more consistent than the battle rifle and it doesn’t even require you to aim that well! Know who you are rewarding before you nerf a weapon before you believe that it is “balanced”.

The Grenades
You guys had it perfect in Halo 1 and they were alright in Halo 2. But you screwed up big time in Halo 3. I am of course referring to the damage they deal. Keep it more uniform and thus keep it more consistent. I have survived direct hits with grenades when I had no shields- this shouldn’t be. Also increase vertical damage because people jumping right over grenades and charging you should not be rewarded. Play Halo 1 and Halo 2 and you’ll realize how much better the grenades were. It’s a simple fix. Do it.

The Rocket launcher
You know, all rockets in Halo 1 was actually fun and so was it in halo 2. Now it just blows. Change the rockets back to how they should be – speed up the rockets and fix the splash damage to be more uniform.

The Man cannons and the Teleporters
Man-cannons just suck… Teleporters were fine in Halo 1 and you just decided to break them from Halo 2 onwards. Leave them as big things attached to the walls that you can walk through. The stupid little movable things aren’t cool looking (they look hideous) and they also don’t function the same. You can’t block a teleporter as you could in Halo 1, and you also can’t telefrag someone which is just just boring. Shooting a person across the map is just not as fun and messing around with teleporters. Stop using mancannons as substitutes all the time and use the REAL Halo 1 teleporters again for a few maps.

There’s a lot more I want to complain about but I’ll stop here for now.

Fight Together or Die Alone.
Fight the Best, Die like the Rest

More Carbines and BR's on certain maps.

On Guardian, there is one Carbine(above sniper) and one BR(yellow room). Put a BR in Green Floor(by the brute shot) and have a Carbine in Blue Room(by explosive boxes).

More BR starts, especially at highest skill of 45 or higher. There shouldn't be kids still using Assault Rifles at those levels.

BR only starts, not just Team BRs(With Assault Rifle as secondary). I'm not complaining about the AR being to powerful, i can win against AR most of the time(as long as i don't get right in their face), but if the noobies get AR starts, us good people should get BR starts

I've been a Halo fan since the beginning. I love it all, the story, the game play, the music, the easy online access. I love having so many vehicles in a battle with people, unlike most other games. I really enjoy seeing forged maps like in MLG and Infection. No two games are ever the same. There are so many game types so if I get tired of BTB I can switch to lone wolves or whatever else. And there's always new playlists on weekends now which is awesome. The ranking system makes me want to constantly be improving my score. It just never gets old. Halo 3 is one of the few games I have the 360 and it's the one game I play the most out all my games. I'd just rather be playing Halo 3 than anything else. I'm always looking forward to new downloadable maps too. I guess the only way to improve Halo 3 is to just keep doing what you've been doing. Occassionally I will put in Halo 2 just to replay some of my favorite maps from it. (I'm just hoping that in a few years when Halo 3 might be slowing down, that you guys will release a Halo 4 with all the maps from all three Halo games and then some!)

I would like it if you took the grenades off of sword games. Its about swords not nades. It would be even better if the pit had the turrets taken off for sword games as well.

I speak for MANY when I say we would love to see faster weapon changes (cycling) and reduced BR spread making it more accurate at long range much like the post patch H2 BR. Also a slightly increased rate of fire on the human sniper.

oh yeah and this thread sums it all up..

I think that having a duel style marker system in head-to-head is ridiculous. It gives the one who is losing an unfair advantage. My example being this. I played head-to-head on Blackout and soon as we started the other guy jumped off to have no marker his head then went and got the sniper and shotgun and camped where he could see the entire map.

I think the spawn system is in serious need of fixing. I think that if an enemy player can see and kill you when you spawn, then there is no point in even spawning. You can be running through a hallway just having cleared out that area, turn around to make sure no one is there, then all of a sudden BAM! You are now dead.

Lastly, a big complaint is dedicated servers. The lag on this game is very, very bad. It's painfully obvious is SWAT when you stand there and shoot someone in the head about ten times and that person doesn't die. o_O? It's very annoying. I often can't play anymore because the lag on my end has become so unbearable.

But, all that being said, I love Halo 3. Very fun when it doesn't lag. Some forge options could be improved. And we can always dream of dlc armor which won't happen. I'll still be playing Halo 3 a long time from now.

P.S. Some playlists don't need any grenades whatsoever.

Earl

Maybe if you had less ar starts considering the ar is the worst thing in halo 3, maybe then it would be more playable. Less grenades, no equipment, fix the sniper to when you shoot someone in the head they actually die. More use of BR starts and the BR all together.I think that Halo 3 overall would be a much better game without ar. Bring back the smg to take the place of the ar.

1. Tighten BR spread
2. Add in objective throwing, add some distance to the throws (flags, oddballs) like in Halo 1&2.
3. Rework the spawn system to make small/medium maps more playable and competitive.
4. Make the "Touch Return" for flags an actual touch return.
5. Improve hit registration, it's inconsistent even on LAN.
6. Improve melees. I know that they were glitches --and therefore unintended-- but both Halo 1 and Halo 2 benefited from a double melee glitch.
6.1. Make melees worth different values for different movements (jumping melee causes most damage etc.)

we'll call it a draw

i'd like to see the indicators taken out of head to head, ranked btb taken out completly, mlg maps and game types in head to head, and thats it, keep up the great job bungie =)

3: Mess with the beatdown system

4: Lower the AR power a tad bit

5: Make it were you dont have to hold that button down if theres more then 5 players

"Cry because I whore rockets, Cry because I use the Newb Combo, Cry because I use the sword, You mind as well Cry because I'm just plain better than you"

There a few things I think should be taken into consideration.

1. The vetoing process modified.

Problem - Right now you can veto the game on the screen by pressing X, and I think I can speak for all when I say that is an awesome feature that has been incorporated into Halo 3.

Solution - Why not incorporate a a X to veto the game type, and Y to veto the map. That way if we do not want to play slayer on say Epitaph, we can veto the map and get a different one; And if we don't want to play KOTH on the pit we can veto the game type and get something else. Having the option of vetoing the map or the game type would be a great addition to the vetoing process.

2. Tie a game and lose a level.

Problem - Currently when you tie a game if you have a higher level than the other players on the team you will almost always lose a level to the other team. I and many other believe this is very unfair. I.e. Me and all my team mates are generals, and so is the other team. My team is comprised of the following skill levels 47,48,49. The other team is comprised of 40, 41, 45. If my team does not win, we will lose a level in a tie or a loss. I am fine losing a level when I lose, but when I tie I believe this system is very skewed and needs to be fixed.

Solution - I know there was a similar problem in Halo 2 when the teams tied red team would get the win. Bungie fixed this with a later update in Halo 2. I know the ranking system is different in Halo 3 but I would like them to look into the matter and supply an update to fix the losing levels issue during a tie. Both teams could still get the exp, but the skill level should remain untouched.

3. Double EXP weekend polls

Suggestion - Create a poll every Monday with Double EXP weekend ideas or previously used DBL EXP weekends and let the community vote on what they would like to see for the upcoming weekend. Don't get me wrong we love the surprise DBL EXP weekends but it would be sweet to have option to vote in a poll for what we would like to see.

Bungie you guys have been great and we appreciate everything you guys do and the improvements you make in each update.

Lets hear what you guys have to say out there!
