The simple option to ALLOW spawning with a carbine. Some of us enjoy accuracy without spraying. This is not a suggestion for matchmaking in any playlist, just allow carbine as a spawn weapon...unless you'd rather make the BR single shot like it always should've been.

Yours Truly,
Yarffa

SOme tings i would like to see:

1: Halo 2 maps like sanctuary, midship, beaver creek made into DLC for halo 3 but not changed too much like blackout.

2: BR spread fixed plz!!!

3: spawns fixed plz!!! it really ruins a game when the match is tied ay 49 to 49 and some1 spawns behind u.

4: Im not begging for recon or anything but i think alot of halo players would enjoy it if you guys kept making new types of armors and associating challenges or achievements to them so at least we know what we have to do to unlock them.

Thank you bungie for making an already great game and even if these changes arent made i am still a fan. I know there is no perfect game, everyone will always have their opinion but the community is expecting halo 3 to be a fun and competitive game for any type of player.

Honestly, I am speaking for about half the halo 3 nation, from montage kids to MLG pros when i am saying this. Believe me, I play halo almost every day and play with montage kids and pros, and they just want the game faster. And to make the game faster is to make the game like halo 2. I know you guys hear that a lot, but you will at least double the halo population if you do these things. Some might be hard or impossible, but at least consider.

1. Bring back nade launches (when you throw one grenade at a wall or something, and then when another grenade is thrown, the first grenade blows up, launching the second grenade in the distance). They were one of the only reasons i played halo 2. They can be so innovative. This was the kind of thing that distinguished people and how much time they put into the game. How creative they were. It was the most fun I ever had on halo.

2. Bring back button glitches such as BXRs and Double Shots. I know you hate bringing things like these back, because they are glitches and all. But with what we have now, the game isn't halo anymore. It isn't as fast. I know you guys tried to replace the bxr with the mauler, but it hasnt replaced it. You dont spawn with a mauler every game, and maulers dont take skill to use. Doubleshots were one of the most skillful things you could do in halo. It was one of the techniques you could use to Out-BR someone and win the fight. These werent just glitches, they were innovations into the game that took skill. I know you guys dont like the idea, but just please consider it. If you dont want to make a glitch, at least make it look like it isnt a glitch, like make master chief punch and then bring his arm back to a shooting position fast on the bxr.

3. We need smaller maps. Almost all of the maps you made are absolutely huge. This makes MLG really complicated and repetitive, and now MLG has to make their own maps. They shouldn't have to create their own maps, thats just silly. Back in halo 2, you had the perfect variety of maps. Huge maps for BTB, and small maps for MLG (hey that rhymed!) But it made team and MLG a lot better because of the variety of maps you could play on. I suggest remaking something like Beaver Creek or Sanctuary. I would love for you guys to remake Midship, that map was the best for FFA and CTF. But if you are going to remake maps, PLEASE dont supersize them like you did to Lockout, or change any important features. Lockout is a colossal map now, and it is a little harder to set up on it now that you guys have gotten rid of the window. I'm just asking for smaller and more MLG savy maps.

4. Multiple 1v1 games need brought back. Remember the old days in halo 2 when you could play 1v1s with anywhere from 2-16 people? Those were the days. I was horrified when i realized bungie didnt bring that back. It was one of the best things about halo because you could show your friends how good you were at 1v1s. Please bring this back.

5. The assault rifle is far too powerful from long and short range. It really needs taken down a notch. I am always going for multikills, I'll admit it, I am a montage kid. But everytime i am on an overkill or killtacular, some guy spawns with an AR and kills me. Not because hes better then me, put a BR in his hands and i will embarass him. Its just too easy to use. All I'm asking is that you either take the power down a notch or make the aim on it smaller so its not as easy to use.

6. The ever popular beatdown system needs a makeover. I hate the fact that someone can beat me down the same time i can beat them down even though i pressed the B button first, but they punched 3 frames later and they get a kill they dont deserve. I dont understand this. What i also dont understand is that you can shoot someone twice with a battle rifle and then punch them and it would have the same affect as if you wouldve just punched them to begin with. They go no shields. You should make the beatdown system a lot more consistent, becuase it is in shambles right now. I think you should go back to the host advantage beatdowns. It may not be as fair, but its a lot more consistent then this system. At least you know whats going to happen then.

7. The beam rifle isnt available as a primary or secondary weapon in custom games?

8. How come you balanced every noob weapon like the sword and the hammer but you made the shotgun a superweapon? When i punch someone and get sworded or hammered, they get hurt. But now when im killed by the shotgun! Its too powerful, too long range, and too uneven

9. Rockets arent very powerful at all. You could shoot a rocked 5 feet away from someone and halo 2 and it would kill them. Now you can shoot someone with a rocket and they dont die.

10. Assasinations never work. Ive punched somoene in the back countless times and they walk away from it. Come on now.

11. Bring back proximity voice!

12. Make the chat button less awkward! Up is too hard to press in a game.

13. The reloads take wayyy too long. Isn't it enough for master chief to have the clip in so when you press yy it is reloaded?

14. Why are there no multi-killionares? the multikills just stop :(

15. And last but not least, there are no clans. Clans were like having 2 friends lists, they were very useful. I beg you to bring them back.

As you can see, i have a lot of complaints. But they are all in good nature. I guarantee you bungie, GUARANTEE that if you fix the first couple things (Nade Launches, BXRS, MLG maps, Beatdowns) that you will get a huge rise in the halo population and it will remain that way. The only thing you have done with halo 3 is make a temporary game that doesnt show the skill differential between good players and noobs. This is not just from me, but tens of thousands of people who still play halo 3 and get on halo 2 constantly because they miss the speed. This is probably the best opinion you have right now because i am speaking for everyone who loves this game. Half the people who post here are noobs who dont play the game every day. Wont be on it for much longer either. What I am saying is you guys should look out for the more long term players, people who love halo. If you do the important ones (they weren't in any particular order, but you saw that they werent as important past about 7) I am guaranteeing you a happier halo population.

Don't be afraid of change, if it doesnt work out, you can always try again :)

dude i play halo 3 alot when im not at work or at school ok i play halo 3 alot theres more people looking for fun then there is people looking for skill and all of that in halo 2 there was a lot of people who were in custums then in machmaking, zombies, hide in seek, cat and mouse, brave hart, hog wars, these were played the same as people in machmakeing,
and not every one one here are noobs the are people to take the time and check out the game and bungie asked the fans not the noobs and not the skill freaks the fans what they think should be changed ok the kid

I know you are but what am I?

1.Forge Glue
2.Ranked Infection
3.Playlist where two people on different teams start off as moniters and have to build forts, and give support to their teammates.
4.Fix long-range BR spread.

That's all I can think of for now...

Wow. What i was saying was the people who played before make up the majority of the game, and thats what they should worry about. Because everyone who played h2 want those things. I'm not saying you guys are noobs as in you guys suck, because really i could care less about your skill level. Im just calling you guys noobs because a lot of halo 3 players are completely new to halo. Never played halo 2 or 1. Get it? New? Newb? Noob? Believe me, I'm not out to antagonize anybody. I just want to see halo 3 get better, it really deserves it. Bungie made a great game.

1. Fix the battle rifle spread. I understand that realistically it isnt perfect, but for a video games too many times the br fight is unfair.

2. Fix the melee system. im not sure how, but it just doesnt seem right. Melees are way overpowered. Maybe just tune them down some.

3.Spawn systems. They can be a little crazy sometimes, im sure we all agree.

other than that you have a good game

I'd like a bungie favorites playlist or something like that that could maybe change every week or so... maybe you could have a poll in the weekly update for what would be in the next week's, or month's, playlist. This would add a lot more variety to the game, and would be a fun way to check out the latest and greatest new Forge maps... you could even partner up with someone like Forge Hub and have then give al of their best... just a thought.

i think we need a sniper playlist, in hardcore, and it shud be added... NOT taking any playlists away.

taking off the "push to talk" wud make SSSSSOOOOO many ppl play more big team and customs cus i hate btb for that reason i guess the only point is so that wwhen u have a huge party u dont hear every1 breathing into their mics, so if u wanna talk u push. but it is still kinda pointless it shud def. b taken off.

add more playlists too.

also maybe fix the hosting issues online, they were much better in halo2

Ability to stack powerups: Currently you are unable to stack powerups which is just an absurd gameplay flaw, why Bungie thought this was a smart idea is beyond me, but it should be fixed. If you pick up an OS then a camo, you appear camo but you're flashing like a giant light bulb, however, since you're invisible, other players can't auto aim on you. If you pick up a camo then an OS your camo power up stops working and others can auto aim on you. If you manage to pickup both powerups, don't you DESERVE both the powerups?

Option to disable tips: Ok, in Slayer we have to kill the enemy and in CTF we have to capture the flag. That's great, but do we need to be reminded how to play the game every time we load the map? The tips aren't little bits of text in the corner of the screen, they appear in a giant blue box that takes up half the screen. More annoying is the tips that remind me how to dual wield. I understand Bungie wanted to aim this game at everyone, ranging from grandmothers to your pet dog, but can those of us who know how to play please have the option of disabling this useless feature?

Weapon pallet in Forge: Can Bungie let US decide what weapons we want on our maps? There's some maps I'd like to put Carbines on, but Bungie won't let me. Why? I can understand Bungie had to limit the amount of objects on maps for various reasons, but I'm pretty sure letting me put a Carbine on a few maps won't make my 360 overheat and explode.

Touch return: For some reason touch return isn't TOUCH return. Why? Who knows, but it's lame and it needs to be fixed. CTF is currently broken and I'd go as far as to say UNPLAYABLE. I'm not sure about you guys, but I think being able to return the flag by running above it when the flag is UNDERGROUND is an insanely ridiculous gameplay flaw and the fact that this managed to get by Bungie's game testers really makes me worry about the future of this planet and its inhabitants.

Powerups: Bungie thought it would be more appealing to the kids if they changed the powerups from little objects on the ground into enormous glowing energy balls that take up half the map. Ok, whatever, I can live with that. But WHY did they make it so you can't shoot through them? Currently I have Forged Narrows and positioned a Camo powerup on the middle bridge on the lower level. Cool huh? It's in a nice spot in between both bases. But there's a bit of a problem when your trying to shoot at someone on the opposite side of the bridge with a massive glowing ball in front of you, besides hindering your aiming ability, you can't even shoot the person and grenades will bounce off it.

Hitboxes: The autoaim/hit boxes in Halo 3 still leave a lot to be desired. Bungie should either lower the autoaim/make hit boxes smaller or give us the option to lower autoaim when making gametypes. Maybe let us put it on 75/50%

Flag throwing: The flag throwing is one of the things that set Halo apart from other games. Remember watching the old videos of TDT on BC capturing a flag in 7 seconds because of their awesome flag setup where they'd throw the flag up to the top of the base, run it through the teleporter and throw it up on top of their base? Well Bungie obviously thought that gave good players too much advantage over bad kids so they removed it. Perhaps give us the option to reduce the flag weight or something.

Red reticle distance: Bungie, fix the BR and Carbine so we don't have to zoom in every shot just to make sure the shots connect. It doesn't matter if you're aiming at someone's temple, if your reticle isn't red there's a high chance most shots won't hit. The Pistol in Halo 1 would hit players fine from the other side of Hang Em High, now in Halo 3 half the bullets won't connect from one side of Guardian to the other. Halo 2 also had this problem, why wasn't it fixed?

Melees: In Halo 1 if you stood still and melee it would do weak damage, a running melee would do moderate damage and a jumping melee would do the most damage. In Halo 3 Bungie decided this was another thing good players would take advantage over so they screwed the entire melee system up. It only takes 2 melees to kill someone, there is no damage variation and one melee takes off an entire shield.

Apparently when 2 players melee each other at the same time with low shields, the player with the most health will prevail. ALWAYS. Ummmm, why? Why not reward the fastest player? If both players melee at almost exactly the same time, here's an idea - BOTH players should die. That's how it is in every other game and that's how it should be. In Halo 1 there were many moments both players would die at the same time, for some reason Bungie thought this balance was a bad idea and removed it in Halo 2 and 3.

Sword/Hammer delay: The Sword and Hammer is now useless against good players. Sure, Bungie n00bs can run around with their Swords out advertising it to the world and get some kills against bad kids, but when it comes to good players, if you advertise your Sword/Hammer you're a massive target saying "SHOOT ME" and no one is dumb enough to go near you. If you hide it until you're ready to use it, say on a player coming around the corner, there's no way to pull it out in time to get a kill. The Sword isn't even a power weapon anymore, hell, the Mauler is better than the Sword.

Sniper delay: The delay between Sniper shots feels like an eternity. Seeing multi kills with it is now rare. Getting those clutch no scopes is almost impossible because in a close range situation you can barely fire off one shot before getting killed. The delay between shots should be the same as Halo 2.

Overshield: The OS in Halo 3 is a joke. Not only are you a giant fluorescent target running around shining like a light bulb, the OS is also weak as hell. Why did Bungie reduce the effectiveness? Now, we can make our own custom powerup, which is cool because we can make a Halo 1 OS by giving it 5 second duration, invulnerability and 3X's shield. But we shouldn't have to. The OS should be brought back to Halo 1 style, then we could use the custom powerup for something else such as increased speed or increased damage.

Toggle shield doors: Give us the option to toggle shield doors in Forge.

Explosives: I'd like the option to remove ALL explosives from the maps, those fusion coils that respawn on the walls are extremely annoying.

Description: When editing game types, when you save changes it deletes your description. This doesn't seem to happen for Forged map variants, only game types. Not too big of an issue, but still annoying when you just want to change something simple and quickly, then you have to re-enter your description.

Spectator mode: Apparently it was in the Beta but Bungie removed it. Why? Near all FPS on PC have it and it's a great option. Especially for 1 vs 1, you can have players spectating, the winner plays on and the loser switches places.

Custom game list: This would be great, especially for players outside North America who find it hard to get players at certain times of the day for a custom game. Bungie didn't include this because they want to FORCE US to play match making. The think players won't play match making and it'll take longer to find games. Well GOOD! If players want to play customs over MM let them. I don't know why Bungie wants us to play the game their way.

Dedicated servers: Every multiplayer game on PC since Quake 1 has an option for dedicated servers. I can't think of a multiplayer game on PC that doesn't have this option, many games on Xbox also have this option, some of the first ever games on Xbox Live had this option such as Return to Castle Wolfenstein and Unreal Championship. Halo 3 would benefit so much from dedicated servers.

I'm not talking about dedicated servers for MM, or dedicated servers run by Bungie, I'm talking about being able to setup our own Xbox's as dedicated servers. This would get rid of host advantages and it would be awesome for online competitions and tournaments to make sure players are on a level playing field and aren't cheating. Bungie should be ashamed of themselves for excluding such a simple option that would give the game so much more potential.

These would run off a map/gametype cycle and companies with fast internet connections such as ISP's would host servers which gives the ability for bigger games with more players.

Rockets: If someone shoots me with a RL next to me, they should die as well. I'm sick of people using the RL like it's a shotgun. In Halo 1, the splash damage was huge. This meant you had to be careful with the RL and make sure you're far enough away from your target so you wouldn't kill yourself. This was perfect. In Halo 3 you can pretty much shoot someone point blank in the face with it and lose a bit of shield. That's ridiculous. Players should be punished for being careless with the RL.

Shotgun: The shotgun range should be increased a tiny bit, right now it really doesn't have an advantage over the Mauler and it still seems inconsistent at point blank range.

Camouflage: It would be nice if the camouflage was nerfed just a tiny bit preferably to match the Halo1 camo. At the moment it seriously is like an invisibility. When someone with camo melees the air they become visible for like, half a second, where as when you're shooting a camo guy they turn visible for only like 1/10th of a second. When shooting a camo guy they should turn visible for half a second after each shot.[/b]

FOV: Why are we still playing in tunnel vision (70 degree vision). Halo 1 had 90 degree vision and it felt natural. In Halo 2 and Halo 3 it's like your looking through a telescope the whole time you're playing.

Objective Times Objective times NEED to be fixed. Why the hell did Bungie get rid of times for points? The max points we can have is 250 which is only about 4 minutes. WTF Bungie? Are you trying to aim the game at kids who can't read the time now? Give us the old times back or at LEAST give us the option for more points. 4 minutes is too short for KOTH and Oddball. Halo 1 and 2 gave the option for 15 minutes.

Reticle: Why is the reticle in Halo 2 and 3 like, 2/3 down the screen instead of in the centre of the screen like every other FPS ever made? It feels more natural to aim in the middle of the screen, I can't understand why the reticle is so close to the bottom, it just doesn't make sense.

Halo 1 spawns: A Halo 1 style spawn system would be a cool option, it would save people doing all the mucking around with crates in Forge and we could fix the powerup spawns as well.

Custom control layout: Southpaw, cool, boxer, great - But how about letting us choose what controls we want? It's been a standard in PC gaming since the dawn of time pretty much, so why must we be limited to playing the game with Bungie's control layouts? Sure, include Boxer and Southpaw, etc, for those who are happy with them, but what about letting us create out own control layout? Many other Xbox titles have had the option for custom control layouts, so why not add the option for those who want it?

Bullet registration: The main culprit is the Sniper. I've seen head shots where blood came out but the shot didn't register __ON LAN__ - This is not acceptable. What other shots aren't registering, because I bet it's not only the Sniper with this problem (This also happened in Halo 2).

Sniper auto aim distance: The Sniper Rifle auto aim distance is too far away. I find myself constantly zooming into 10X's zoom on targets that I should be able to hit at 5X's zoom, but at 5X's zoom the auto aim distance isn't far enough and trying to hit an enemy is like trying to head shot a moving team mate. (The BR and Carbine also have this problem when not zoomed it - If needed Bungie could make the reticles for the BR and Carbine SMALLER and increase the auto aim distance so we don't have to continuously zoom in to make sure our shots register)

Nerf the power drainer and the regen: At the moment these are too powerful. Shooting someone inside a regen is like shooting at someone with 10X's OS, there's no way to win. The Power Drainer takes away shields almost instantly. Both these should be gradual - IE: You have to stand in the power drainer for like 3 seconds to lose all your shield instead of 0.3 seconds.

Game types saved to accounts: This is a very important issue, especially at tournaments. Game types and maps are saved only to a single account. For example, lets say you go to a tournament and someone goes around to every Xbox and sets up the games and maps. If you make a new account on that Xbox, you won't be able to use these maps, you have to use the account that was used to create them. I can see this being a big problem at MLG - Hell, it was inconvenient at a tournament I went to with 16 teams, imagine 100+! Game types and maps should be saved to the HDD for ALL accounts on the Xbox to use.

Grenade throw distance: Ok, so Bungie took out speed based melees (If you're running melees do more damage than standing) but grenades seem to go nowhere if you're running backwards and throw a grenade. It's pretty annoying. I know it's more realistic, but having to adjust your aim for grenades depending on how fast your moving is kinda lame.

Invite all: Anyone else miss the "invite all online friends" option from Halo 2?

Customisation:

Why can't we just change variables by 5's across the board? It would have been less work for them and more enjoyment for us.

Host: Room creator should ALWAYS be host NO MATTER WHAT. I'm sick of spending 20 minutes (Yes, litterally) trying to get someone with a good connection to host because Bungie keeps deciding the guy with the crap connection gets host despite someone with a good connection (and open ports) makes the room.

Sensitivity: More options for sensitivity would be nice. We should be able to choose 1.5, 3.3, 5.0, etc, etc. A scrolling bar would be nice but it MUST have numbers so we know what the setting is if you want to use the same settings on another Xbox. (Many games have a scrolling bar for sensitivity, but don't display the number so getting the exact same setting on another account is hard.)

Splash damage: Splash damage for all grenades should be increased a tiny bit (maybe 10% or something). As I said before Rocket Launcher splash damage needs a lot of tweaking, maybe 20%, you can pretty much jump over rocket explosions and lose a fraction of your shield.

AR damage: The Assault Rifle should do less damage to shields like in Halo 1. The AR right now can take off your shield at short-medium range within a few shots, it should take longer to deplete your shield, but do more damage to your health (Like the Human vs Plasma weapons in Halo 1 where Plasma did more damage to shields and Human weapons did more damage to health).

Back of head hitbox: Hitting someone in the back of the head is too hard, the hitbox fox the back of the head should be increased just a tiny bit, you always seem to hit their shoulders, especially when people look at the ground while seeking cover so you can't finish them off.

Rocket Launcher autoaim: There should be ABSOLUTELY ZERO AUTO AIM for the Rocket Launcher. Aiming a rocket at the ground only for it to lock on to a player and sling shot over the horizon is annoying. Keep magnetism (Reticle locking onto players) but get rid of the auto aim (The Rocket homes in on the target sometimes causing shots aimed at the ground to fly off into the distance)

Objective indicator: If Blue team has the Oddball, the indicator should be Blue, if Red team has it, it should go Red, etc.

Needler: Please nerf it a bit, it went from a humiliation weapon to a over powered mid-range weapon.

Flag indicator options: Where are they?

KOTH indicator: Was it really necessary to make a giant wall around the hill? What was wrong with a small ring around the hill?

Theatre fast forward: Do we HAVE to hold down the Right Trigger for 4 minutes looking for that sick shot we got near the end of a game? Can't we have an option for skipping ahead chapters without watching the whole film first?

2X's Sniper Zoom: Bungie probably won't change this, but we can dream, can't we?

Shots fired/Shots hit (Post Game Carnage Report): Please?

KOTH beacons: Those little KOTH indicators on the ground need to GTFO. They should obviously appear in Forge so you can edit the hill properties, but in game they need to go, just like they disappear for spawn points etc. They're just another thing on the ground that love to screw around with your grenades and they don't really serve any purpose except to show where the hill can spawn - Which isn't really a problem for anyone who has played the map before.

Collision annoyance: It's annoying when you run into another player and you both end up pushing each other all over the place. In Halo 1 you'd both just stop, but in Halo 2 and 3 it's like a tug o' war battle.

Power up hit boxes: Hit boxes for the power ups need to be fixed, they're freaking enormous. The power ups are already enormous and you don't even need to be next to them to pick them up!

Ricochet: I just don't understand why Bungie sat around one day and said "Gee, it would be awesome if sniper bullets bounced all over the place after hitting a surface". It's not realistic and it's really lame. Any human bullet weapons shouldn't be ricocheting off any surfaces except maybe shields and energy bridges.

OS Glitch If you pick up the Custom OS with no shields you don't pick up the power up.

- Updated 26th January.

Plasma grenade glitch: If you spawn on top of a Plasma grenade the game automatically selects the Plasma grenade instead of the Frag grenade. It's annoying when you throw a grenade shortly after spawning only to throw a Plasma grenade and we shouldn't have to MAKE SURE we have the right grenade selected off spawn. This problem was also in Halo 2 - WHY HASN'T IT BEEN FIXED?

Network difficulties: Sometimes in match making a player will be dropped from the game just before it starts. Sometimes I will be dropped from the game and my brother will still be in the game. How does this work when we're behind the same router and BOTH our NAT's are open. If someone's NAT isn't open they shouldn't be able to host games in match making - Why should other players be punished for dropping out a game because someone else can't setup their router properly?

I think that there should be more gametypes available. Their should be a Team Snipers playlist for sure, thats number one priority. Also like a Team Fiesta playlist would be really cool, i think alot of people would play that. NOT RANKED THOUGH. MAKE TEAM SNIPERS RANKED!! Add more gametypes and a different veto system like the kid was talking about putting 3 maps to choose from and everyone votes on it. Good idea. MORE PLAYLISTS!!!

spawning needs some work

some things peopl are suggesting are good you seend some variation in game play so even if i hate the type or map i dont mind

and the main thing that gets me

elites on swat
GET SPARTANS ONLY ELITES DO NOT DIE ITS A 1/3 CHANCE THAT THEY DO DIE FIRST SHOT

the reason I play halo is because it is competitive as hell. And I understand its a different game but you guys changed stuff that didnt needed to be changed, the BR spread( you say it makes it more realistic, halo its not realistic...if i want to play something realistic i would play CoD4), the glitch of the rocket and the sniper that makes you charge 2 times, that the sniper bullets registrate and actually hit the target. More permutations for the armors(cmon! you can make it happen!) and please if you guys introduce it, make it by ranks so not everyone can use them. Please fix the splash of the rockets its getting annoying..., fix the AR, make it weaker and please fix the range( ive had Br vs AR battles at mid range and the AR beats me...)Put clans in MM!!!!i am from costa rica and i have about 100 friends that play halo and we had a clan in halo 2 but we lost it cause of the change to 360 dashboard. Make more simmetric and competitive maps, you guys already listen to the casual gamers, now its time you start listening to the hardcore, competitive, good gamers, the ones that made your game what it is, and the ones that swarm the MLG tournaments.

Thank you.

I think that some of the spawns are pretty lame as well. like i was playing this one game and this one guy spawneded right behind me and assassinated me when i was trying to kill some 1 on team slayer..plz fix it bungie

I think you should first fix the BR spread. Next, if you're going to consider 1v1 as part of the Hardcore playlist, I think it should be BR start like MLG and SWAT are. To expand on that, i think 1v1 should be map default settings; maintaining control of the power weapons takes skill and is the object of the game. Plus, there's a plethora of equipment. The 1v1 gametype needs some serious work; right now it's a noob's paradise. I'm sorry if whomever it is I'm playing gets frustrated because i have the sniper. At the start of the game it's up for grabs for both players and i think that's fair. Also an indicator should be over both players' heads at the same time the whole duration of the game or none at all and incorporate radar in the duel games. I go back and watch film of the people i'm playing and they camp too hard when they're losing; the game is too predictable and lopsided when one person knows where the other is and the other doesn't. I see what you were goin for, but I think overall it's made a lot of people unhappy. I do like the idea of selecting from 3 maps rather than the veto system and being stuck with a map you don't feel like playing after the initial veto. On the subject of ranked playlists, i think their nature should be competitive; leave hammers, zombies, swords and the rest of that noise in the social playlists. You're competing for a higher rank hence the name "ranked". For the MLG playlist, I think it should be a requirement to be a spartan before you play. MLG rules state that each player's default settings require them to be a spartan before entering a match. If you're going to have this playlist, please make it authentic. I don't know how you would go about enforcing this, but it would make me feel better. I like how the gametype works A LOT so don't make any changes to it. I really enjoy halo 3 and you guys have done a fine job so far overall, but a few tweaks here and there would definitely keep me playing for years to come!

Negative 1

I agree with having more game play with the LAAG in Matchmaking cause I like it it batter than the LRV. Maybe more ranked games, and hopefully SWAT without: grenades, infinite ammo, an maybe not damage resistance but a damage bonus as I assuming its supposed to be more realistic

I think in the veto screen it should show you what you'd get if you vetoed. So all those instances where you veto something you kinda dont like and then get something even worse would cease to happen.

The ranking system.

  • 06.04.2008 2:45 PM PDT

1) A sniper playlist
2) The ability to have more custom content (100 is quite hard to keep.)
3) Better spawning on Narrows, too many times in sniper games you spawn on the side and immediately die.
4) Better fast-forwarding in Theater
5) 90 degree snapping in Forge (I hear that's coming?)
6) More Forge objects in certain maps (such as large boxes in high ground)
7) Remove the ability to put in hornets on Construct (not that it's a bad thing, just kind of pointless)
8) Much more detailed RSS feed stories

Infection: Why would Bungie make a gametype and not even make a playlist for it. I love Infection and all the Living Dead weekends. Why are you holding out on us Bungie. Just turn the Living Dead weekend into the Living Dead Playlist. Please Bungie the community has cried out for this since the creation of the game. At least tell us why we don't have one.

Magic: Halo 2 was (maybe still is) the best multiplayer FPS. I would pick up this game and never stop until late into the night maybe the early morning. Back when local play was just as fun if not more fun than Live. With the launch of Halo 3, after I got over its graphic glory. I soon realized that this was not like Halo 2. The maps seemed more oriented toward large team Xbox Live matches, which are very fun. It took forever to cross a course and the assault rifles led to easy kills and little to no advantage to switching weapons. I miss the time when I could pick up a game at home with my frieds and play for fun for hours. These new maps just aren't oriented for few players. Bungie, I'm begging you. Bring back the magic that is now lost. Give us a map that is best for 2-4 players Bungie. I know you can't change much now, but this is some advice for your next release when hopefully this series will continue to revolutionize the industry and win the hearts of all gamers around the world like Halo 3 has failed to do, only living off its former glory seen in the earlier games. The community needs change

I think that they need to introduce a new type of infection game variant. Make it dual sided, as in red kills blue, blue becomes red, and vice-versa. Your kills would transfer over with your switching of sides, and when the game is over, be it all one team or time runs out, scoring, skill and experience, would be calculated as it is with FFA.

The battle rifle needs to be made less powerful, or make it more randomized so it would be more challenging to get a kill from a great distance.

We (community of forgers) need some sort of weather filter, like rain or snow, and they would have some effect on our enviroment. Rain would make the skys darker, and would screw with our radar systems, or perhaps even remove it altogether. The snow would make our movements faster, but would make us harder to turn, or change direction.

The matchmaking needs some flame grenades. simply put.

The elites could possily use some different types of armour, the spartans have 7 different types upon completion of the achievements, while the elites have a mere 5. 1 or two more armour permations would be kinda nice, and it might incite more people to be elites, thus evening out the spartan to elite ratio.

When it is a covenant playlist, starting the round off with a covenant plasma rifle and sticky grenades would be a blast.

Will update this list when new ideas come to me...
