Similar to many other people's ideas on how to improve the game:
- Fix the BR spread, i.e. make it more accurate because thats what it's meant to be. This also will require more skill to use so wouldn't necessarily be overpowered as some "n00bs" might criticise this point. From my point of view this is one of the biggest flaws of the game, especially as I'm a competitive player, therefore the BR is the main weapon I use. However looking at posts in this thread, it seems people from all different sectors of the community want this BR fixed.
- Make reloads quicker, perhaps allowing the player to press "YY" for faster reloads as was used in Halo 2. This worked a treat for all weapons as it sped up gameplay making it more fun and sometimes more tense battles between players.
- Create larger and more accurate hit boxes. This is a problem even on 'LAN', where the game performs at its best, so it is not just an Xbox Live issue (similar to the BR spread). However hit boxes, especially for the sniper, are mucked up. I'm sure everyone has witnessed themselves shoot the opponent in the head, even if it's clearly a dome shot on the forehead, puts them only to no-shields.
- Create smaller, more competitive maps. No, not just for us hardcore competitive MLG fanatics, but for everyone. I'm sure maps such as Warlock, Midship, Beaver Creek and Sanctuary were popular for EVERYBODY.
- Implement a permenant Team Snipers playlist. As you can see from everyones posts, Team Snipers seems to be an extremely wanting thing.
- Host issues. In pregame lobbys, whoever is the lobby host, i.e. whoever made the actual party should be made host in game. The Bungie system that has a host memory doesn't always work. I personally have a 1 megabyte connection (don't laugh) and I used to constantly steal host and prevented me from playing as it ruined the game for everyone else. I know this happens to many people.
I've seen someone post (I can't remember who), about the game needs 'speeding up' a little. I completely agree. The points made in this thread for improvement seem to be largely based on the fact that Halo 3 needs FASTER GAMEPLAY. i.e. faster reload times, smaller maps, faster movement speed. Having faster gameplay makes the game more competitive and also more fun/exciting... and that's what EVERYONE wants.
