My suggestion would be to change the BR spread. It makes for faster games and more competitive game play. It definitely helps out team games when you are able to shoot at other players across the map without half of your shots missing when you are accurately shooting at their head. I would also like to see the push to talk function taken off, it's just plain annoying. Oh yeah, and the BR spread. Did I mention that already?

-Make the pistol more like it was in Halo 1(scope,more powerful,faster)
-New forge canvas-Bigger, completely square, symmetrical, and flat geometry/texture
-Bring back some old competitive symmetrical maps in a classic map pack(Beaver Creek, Midship, Sanctuary)

-Halo 3 beta carbine PLEASE
-Take out the limitations in forge. No budget, no limit on how many objects, etc

head to head needs to be changed drastically...why would only the winning person have an indicator above his head? it evens the playing field no matter the skill difference because you could be absolutely horrible and be down 1-0 but you can see where he is is at all times and he can't see you. it's even worse because there are so many power weapons, so they can just go and get rockets, snipe, shotty and unless they are really stupid kill you very easily, no matter how good you are or how bad they are. plus the spawns need to be changed. a player could be winning by 1 in the last 10 seconds and the losing player could spawn right behind them. unless the losing player is blind and/or has a mental disability, they will tie it up. it would be great to finally have a good playlist besides the mlg playlist. after all it is ok to have good players and bad players ... that's just life. give them a br start, no power weapons on map and have them spawn a fair distance away from the other player. don't give any disadvantages or advantages to anyone at any time. if you want people to play the list and for it to be a good list, those are my suggestions

The BR Spread needs to be less random and more like Halo 2's.

Find a way to make games less laggy, all my other games far out-perform Halo 3 in terms of a smooth game.

And a completely empty Forge canvas would be awesome.

I'd like to see the number rankings to be a little more lenient. I mean, I had a 3-game winning streak without ranking up, then I went down a rank by losing one match.
I think the free-for-all multiplayer achievements take away from some of the competitiveness, but that's just my opinion.

another issue that is in every single game in all of h3 is shot recognition. what is the point of shots hitting the player but not doing damage? Even in green bar games people can snipe a player in the head and blood will come out of the players head but no damage will be done.. that does not make any sense to me. especially when it happens so ridiculously frequently. even with the br some shots will hit them but not do anything to them... a player with no shields can repel shots off of their face like u were shooting a water gun. EVEN stickies will stick someone then disappear and do absolutely nothing. these are all inconsistencies that can frustrate anyone and because its so frequent, fixing these problems will greatly change the playing experience for the better... and i know u may be thinking its just lag but really its not, even on LAN sniper headshots hit them and blood will come out of their head but twon't do any damage.

Make a LOCKOUT. Blackout is -blam!-.

The main problem is when I shoot people with a sniper, I expect it to hit them given my crosshair is on their head. The shots just never 'register'. Even when I see blood, no kill. I think that's what needs to be taken care of first.

Lower how quickly the bubble shields and power drainers and regenerators spawn or don;t put them on the maps at all.

Make a better forge map. On foundry I quickly found myself begging for more head room. Maybe make one outside?

The Assault Rifle needs to be lowered in power. Its not fair to get shot with 4-5 bullets then beat down for the kill.

Divide some of the playlists up into Slayer and Objective, let's say,...Head to Head?

-fix the BR spread....lower the hitbox/lower autoaim...better yet give us a choice to lower autoaim!
-splash damage with rockets and grenades leaves much to be improved on...Shoot someone point blank with a rocket and you don't die? needs to be fixed (Halo CE splash damage anyone?)
-fix waypoint indicators (if blue team controls objective it turns blue etc.)
-is the giant wall on KOTH necessary? and I think during games the hill indicator can vanish. all it does is mess with your grenades anyway
-stacking powerups picking up camo and OS and looking like a giant lightbulb is just plain stupid...
-give us option to decrease flag weight. probably on of the greatest thing about the old halo's was the teamwork it required to flag throw properly. if you gave us the option to decrease it in customs at least you would make a lot of people happy
-MELEE! the system now is ridiculous. you fixed it from v1....but why not add the physics side back into halo? (running melee, jumping, etc.) right now you get AR'd for a second and you get melee'd and you're dead.
-powerdrain in SWAT? wtf....
-sniper delay between shots = too long
-screenshots taken offline don't have name attached to them...why not?
-spectator mode for customs would be great!
-why do you glow when you pick up OS? it screams shoot me!
-dedicated servers! this would give your game SO much more potential...it would improve the entire MatchMaking system and really just make the game more about skill rather than who has Host
-the AR and Needler are WAY too overpowered....same as the SMG. they used to be weapons you'd be ashamed to use and now they are way stronger than anything else in the game....
-spawn system.....why do I spawn in the other base all the friggen time? or in the middle of a fight?
-custom glitch (picking up a custom OS with no shields means you don't get the custom...why?)
-why are powerups giant glowing balls of energy? you can't shoot through them or even toss grenades through the little suckers
-hit registration is a joke....even on LAN with close to NO LAG. I've seen headshots hit where blood comes out yet the person is still walking like nothing happened....WTF?
-why is the aiming cursor not in the center of the screen?
-power drainer and regen are WAY too powerful. maybe make it more gradual instead of instant....
-shots fired/shots hit?
-more sensitivity options (1.5, 3.2, 4.8, etc)
-theatre fast forward maybe? why do I have to watch my whole video for that ONE wicked shot I want to save?
-ricochet? how often does a bullet bounce off something and hit someone in the head in RL? I mean bullets bounce off of EVERYTHING in Halo 3! annoyance IMO

-better forge map (blank canvas, no budget, any weapons avaliable, etc)
-randomly dropped from games for no reason? why?
-to get rid of standbying (AND IT DOES HAPPEN A LOT!) I would say if somebodies connection dropped below a certain level they are booted instantly...I'm tired of getting lagged just because the other guy is losing....PLEASE FIX THIS!
-how is it with CTF you can stand underneath of it and still return it? this makes NO sense whatsoever...
-please please please lower AR damage or just remove it entirely from the game...
-when it comes to the rocket launcher......ZERO AUTO AIM....you can shoot around hills with this thing if you know how to aim it right (also goes back to the splash damage mentioned earlier)
-customs playlist maybe?
-either fix H2H or remove it...I understand what you guys were trying to do with this playlist but it leaves much to be desired
-a room leader should ALWAYS have host....I don't know why but whenever I play customs I always get stuck with the worst possible connection taking up the host....why?
-smaller reticles for carbine and BR?
-PLEASE bring back the carbine from BETA! it was great the way you had it...idk why you changed it...
-Halo CE field of vision maybe? Halo 2 and 3 seem like you're looking through a telescope the whole time... (90>70)
-fix camo.....its really like invisibility now....they appear for like...two tenths of a second when you shoot them now...maybe increase the time a little bit?
-the TrueSkill ranking system is CLEARLY not true skill....on team doubles I had to win 23 games for one rank when I was RANK 25!
-I also think that people who have a bunch of negative experience should get paired with others with negative experience. or temp banned or something! people quitting out constantly is just annoying because you have them convinced they rank up faster that way.....please do something about this

well thats all I can think of as of right now....please listen to your community Bungie....this is probably one of the smartest things I've seen you guys do since launch! Please consider everything here and weigh out what makes no sense vs what makes logical sense...Thank you

Bring back beta carbine
Bring back Halo 1 pistol (never going to happen but Halo 1 is just so much better than 3)
More small maps
No grenade jumping
Fix the spawn system to be more like Halo 2
Remove the option to be an elite character model (it is pretty unfair in BR starts, specifically MLG and swat)
More powerful grenades, a la Halo 1 and 2
Remove AR spawns. Or just remove the AR all together
Slightly more powerful rockets (only a little bit, don't go overboard)
Add a team snipers playlist
Midship
Warlock/Wizard
Chill Out
Damnation
Battle/Beaver Creek
Sanctuary
Allow players to spawn with a carbine
Fix the weak default Overshield
Bring back Melee glitches
Make Melees weaker, a la Halo 2
Remove Melee contests and make it first melee wins, a la Halo 2
Bring back reload glitches (backpack reload or grenade reload)
Increase the number of grenades that a player can carry to 4
Make maps to have less clutter, and more smooth walls for better grenade bounces
Bring back double shotting
New canvas map that is larger, has higher budget, and is a perfect square
Fix the hitboxes (they are pretty awful)
Basically just make this game far more like Halo 1 and/or 2 (preferably 1)

a mlg social playlist. and the melee system. if its melee then 1 br shot to the head to die, y not 1 br shot then melee and they die. also, regardless of health of each player, so long both are slightly damaged, first person to melee should win since melee does drain all shields.

We need to be able to spawn with every weapon. There's absolutely no reason why we aren't able to start with Carbines, Beam Rifles, etc.

1.Bring back Spectator mode from the Beta.
2.Have the ability to make somebody change teams in the lobby.
3.Have the team in a matchmaking game be able to vote to kick a player. (Either they be disruptive, or just not present during the match.)
4.Be able to put your gun down outside of a local match.
5.Be able to put all weapons on all maps. Be able to start with any weapon.
6. Put more vehicles on maps.
-Avalance: Be able to add a regular Hornet.
-Any maps with Warthogs should also have Gauss Warthogs.
-Any maps with Wraith's should have Scorpions.
7.Bring back a few of the older, FAMOUS maps.
-Blood Gulch/Coagulation
-Ascension
-Metropolis
-Foundation
8.Have an option for stationary turrets. (aka: ones you can't remove for games such as Tower of Power.)

lower your wepons on xbl for machinima purposes. also bring back classic maps like midship, ivory tower, turf, headlong, the list goes on and on. but dont do the whole reskin of the map but adjust one little thing that throws the whole point of bringing the map back off. for instince, that long halway on the bottom of blackout, its suppose to be a exact replica of lockout but idk why bungie offset the entrance to the walkway by bubble shield. just update the graphics of the maps but leave them as it is, make it so you bring back pretty much all the halo 2 maps since they all were amazing. but do it by like a monthly basis so it wasnt just one huge chunck of maps at you that cost 50 bucks even tho i would pay that kind of money for the old maps!

also bring clans back, some of my best memories of halo 2 were major clan matches on waterworks and headlong. i would love that if they did an update like that.

just do little things. do exactly what we want such as drastic changes that are exciting. not just auto updates that is hard to even notice. do things like update the design of ranks. not just white numbers. thats what i loved about halo 2 it had an amazing community with just the little things. halo 3 just doesnt have that "something" halo 2 had. and bungie needs to listen to its community when we ask for some drastic changes like lowering wepons and such. the competiton in games will only become greater and this is the last of halo. and there is a game called gears 2 coming out so they need to get going and make some changes PLEASE!!!!

Let me say first that I love the fact that you reach out to your community. I think there are a couple things that would make Halo 3 play smoother and make it more fun.

I like the competitive play of MLG so I have to support at least a decrease in the BR spread.

The hitbox/lag issue needs to be fixed. Though this may be because of the decrease in auto-aim from halo 2 to halo 3 I still feel that it is almost outrageous how "un-smooth" game-play is.

Whether possible or not I support the addition of an easier way to choose host. It is very frustrating when multiple party members are having NAT issues and it becomes hard to hold a custom game without trudging through yellow bar connection.

I also REALLY like the idea of spectator mode especially if a spectator is given host which would eliminate host advantage if you were trying to run custom games. I could see this leading to degraded connection quality as more spectators join but I'm sure something could be worked out.

I also wish it was possible to see who host is at any given moment. And a public display of host quality would be cute too.

Oh one last issue I have is with equipment, their re-spawns are too fast being that they can be compared to a power weapon or over shield.

Yeah, I guess you could say I play competitavely. (=

- Take swords and ball out of LW's and make slayer BRs heavily weighted. Since LWs is the only ranked FFA playlist it should be competitave. Connection has a large effect on the outcome of a swords match. Otherwise there should be a MLG FFA playlist.

- Remove DLC playlists, Add ranked Team Snipers playlist.

- Hit detection is a major issue with halo 3. Something really needs to be done about this. It has been proven to happen in lan games, so not all hit registering can be blamed on lag. I dont know if some of the hitboxes need to be moved around or what but its not just lag and it happens with nearly all the weapons. I think hit detection has a much larger impact on BR fights then the spread does, alot of people just don't realize it.

- I also think the 1v1 playlist needs some changes. There should be no objective games in a head to head playlist. All slayer game types but you could add variety by adding games like BRs only or just Snipers+ BR's, Just snipers etc. Theres alot of room for variety in just slayer game types so theres no point ruining the playlist with objectives. Also I think there should be icons above both players at all times not just the player whos losing. Another idea I think would be ideal for the head to head playlist is a 2 round game. A Player gets host each round so host doesn't effect the outcome of ranked games. The rounds would be 3-4 mins long, adding the points up from each round together at the end of the game to see who won. There would be no limit to your score.

- Beatdowns. I think the beatdowns need to be slightly weaker then they are. I would also like to see player speed having some effect in how much damage a beatdown will do.


- BR starts in all playlists should be more heavily weighted.

- Reduce Beat Down magnetism. Beat downs should require a little bit of aim not just press b and automatically get a beatdown if there on your screen. This would also add depth to the game.

- Make less detailed maps so grenades can flow around the map smoothly.

Spawns seem really really wacked. Id love the choice between the halo2 or even halo1 spawn system. Or just put the halo2 type spawns on certain maps only. example: The Pit, Blackout, Guardian, Foundry.. maps with really bad spawns. Spawns definetly need fixing though!

Battlerifle and Carbine need tweaking still!- BR spread needs to be greatly reduced and the carbine could use a more direct bullet spread (that way one doesnt just miss for no reason) I dunno theres just something wrong about the carbine.

Remove autoaim from rockets but make them have more power (so that people die point blank but its harder to aim them.. evens it out)

A custom game HOST OPTION!! Seriously if im about to play a 16 man zombie game or even an MLG custom game, id really love to be able to choose who gets connection.. especially when we all know whos got the best connection.. It never picks it and it always lags!

Also some kind of spectator host mode would be sweet. I heard people talk about some kind of spectator mode in the beta.. anyways I dont exactly NEED a spectator function but id love to be able to host a game for people so theres none of that host advantage. This is also needed for any type of competition where moneys on the line.
