Ya it gets really annoying when playing with 5 or more guys and having to push up to talk sucks! I dont care if it will got to loud or wht eva, atleast 3 time ive died will pressing up to talk

Also, betrayal booting in SWAT is ridiculous. I'm zoomed in with the BR, shooting across the map at someone who is shooting at me. My teammate steps into my line of fire. "You betrayed xXSnIpEr45Xx". Black screen. "You were booted..."

Twice in a row this happened to me. I believe it was 4 times within 10 games. First-offence booting is the problem. If I were to deliberately betray a teammate I would expect to be booted, but when the betrayal is an accident (or dare I say the dead teammate's own fault) then I am being kicked out of a game for no justifiable reason.

A spawning system that doesn't make players spawn near you after you just finished a battle, and also doesn't spawn players behind you. (Highground is a very good example of this on the beach.)


Recently I lost a team slayer game because two enemies spawned 10 feet behind my friend in BR starts on Foundry. Needless to say they nailed him with BR fire and we lost 50-49.

I've seen several suggestions about this. I think it would be sound.
-Betrayal tallying - It seems kinda like a flag for Bungie.net, for every offense you have set days to wear it off. Repeat offense enough, and you are booted. Plain and simple.
The difference with tallying though is to tally those who do it almost every single time. Almost every game. Almost every playlist. And warn others about said person, or just ban them from playlisting entirely/temporarily. Which may also mean no games with friends to Bypass the Banhammah.
-First-offence Betraying - I have had some lucky breaks with first offence betraying - From my "One Many Army", where everyone on my team was on the same party, so booting one BOOTED THEM ALL, to betraying my entire team (why they didn't boot me was because I took out the entirity of the other team as well). Yet, every time I stick an enemy Warthog, with Plasma Grenade glowing wildly, I always seem to get some five year old kid to board said Warthog, wonder why the enemy has retreated from the Warthog, then get blown up, and yell at me. "You did that on purpose!"
BOOT. FOR AN ACCIDENT.

The I agree with your idea but, literally, don't you think the pistol would be alittle more useful if we can actually use them as any other weapon instead of using it for the last resort?

I could be holding a rocket, shooting at the ground, taking my enemies shield away. But, why use a pistol while you can easily get a headshot with a battle-rifle, and plus, the pistol doesn't auto-lock, like some of the other weapons do. I just need a longer range to it, with an even more damage effect to your opponents. :]

no more shield doors like snowbound and epitaph. 2 least favorite maps for me because there are too many power weapons. snowbound got better, but then kids just hide on the other side and nade the shield door so that you can not go through, or just randomly no scope for body shots. shield doors= more noobs getting ranks they don't deserve. speaking of ranks, 50's are way to easy to get. maybe add more levels like to 100 and more ranks past general. I also think that halo 3 was made to easy so that anyone can get kills. It requires less skill. i would also take off the invincibility with overshield. i hate when kids just camp it to run at you with a shotty or AR you and you can't do anything. I do like the beat down system. i think you guys are getting really close to perfection on that one.

In order of importance:
1) No random br spread, make it more like the H2 br
2) Lower the time it takes to switch weapons
3) Increased splash damage with the rockets (its not a shotgun kids...)
4) Bring back the beta trip mine

I agree with the SWAT betrayal...it shouldn't be there at all.

The other things I want covered are weapons or vehicles implimented into the game but never actually "implememented". I know that things such as the Flamethrower, Fuel Rod Gun, and Incininary Grenades cause lag a lot. But if the lag problem was not so big such as smaller scale games like a future 3v3 or 2v2, then I think that these things should be implemented. You have the Flamethrower only in one map, Construct, I think other maps could use one as well. I feel that these things that Bungie created for the game should be use equally.

On the vehicle side I would like to see more "troop vehicles". Yes the Warthog is in there, but being a advant player of Halo 2 since the first day, I really do miss the Gauss Hog. It should be implemented into more objective games seeing as a little variety on Warthogs won't make every encounter the same. Although the Spectre was a slightly unbalanced equivelent to the Warthog in Halo 2 (IE: Plasma turret was weak), Covie varients could use the Halo 3 version of the vehicle, the Prowler, seeing as it's a match. Having the variety of carrying 4 players vs. 3 on the Warthog can really mix things up. I have to admit I am tired of seeing the same Machine Gun Warthog everytime.

i beleive halo is a great game, and i play it atleast 4 hours a day evry day,
playing this much i have seen the ups and downs of it, and know what i think could and should reasonably be fixed.
Halo should have dedicated servers, it lags ALOT more than any other major online console shooter. so much that i often just pop in COD 4 to escape from the stressful lag.
i think in matchmaking there should be a br and ar start together, one of the guns could be on backup
it would still appeal to the ar fans because the br isnt more overpowered than the ar, but it would appeal alot more to the hardcore players and enthusiasts, while also adding a deeper element of strategy. plus , face it. when your on a map like highground and all of the mid to long range weapons have been taken, how can a person with an ar help out their team. they are destined to die because they would have to get so close just to get a kill. the br adds extra depth and a new level of skill to the game, it wastes space having team br's and just team slayer when everything could have a br and an ar

Oversheild Invurnibility equals an immediate outburst. It really, really sucks when they just happen to grab the O.V, and your rocket hits them with pixels to spare. Nope, they're invurnible! Can't hurt me now, can ya? *Buckshot*
Sheild Doors are fine, I think. Most places with sheild doors have more than two ways in, although some areas (like Epitaphs Shotgun Spawn) are very bad. Even with the space between the spawn, and the space to throw your grenades, what's to say he doesn't take off up the lift, go through the corresponding door, drop down behind you and blast you away? Other trap areas, like Snowbound's shot gun spawn, are great, but a little timey. Snowbound's explosives take a while to respawn, the ones in Guardian aren't even at the Shotgun, let alone near anything real important to do anything, and the ones near Construct's lift really shifts the gameplay to control the other lift. Either remove those, or push them to equalize each side. I mean seriously, I tend to go up Yellow lift to go RIGHT(relative to looking towards Energy Sword), but tend to go up Purple lift Left to go LEFT. Balanced, but no.
EDIT: The Assault Rifle can actually be used for Mid range purposes, if it is Unaccurate. It also can be used for cover fire, when rarely used, which brings me to another point - a realistic gametype. No sheilds, a little more resistance because your in a suit of armour, and no regain. At all. This makes tactics like cover fire a little more reasonable, if impractical.

if we're talking improvements to the game specifically, not playlists, a must new respawn an beatdown system. H2 beatdows FTW. It helps gameplay so much. Better long range BR spread. Custom power up glich fix. Small, Symetircal maps. honestly its what halo needs.

looks like a lot of people hate 1v1 already. fix that and other game types such as team slayer. AR starts are too weak. an AR can not kill a sniper or a BR across map where they spawn. AR also brings about more spawn killings in slayer. i think AR is perfect for team objective game types though. Objective focuses more on vehicles and power weapons and power ups. Its more of a fun play list and not as much of a competitive play list.

Think and Execute

One thing I'd like to see improved would be more team-based games and adding in user-made maps into the mix, but mostly competitive maps. I have created quite a few competitive maps and variants of the Legendary maps built for team games as it has more variety in weapons. I always felt Bungie doesn't use all the weapons/equipment it can put in. Speaking of updates, would it be insane to bring back the M6C function for the Magnum? Make it a bit faster-firing and reducing power. I dunno, it's just a fun idea for me. Oh, making players' speed a bit faster wouldn't hurt. Prolonging respawn times and reducing extra clips in the weapon upon pick-up could really help have the player not go after the power weapons so often. It gets really boring after having to deal with a sniper every 5 minutes and it takes alot of the match to kill or get the bugger out of the way. Oh, another thing that really could help would be giving Recon to those who DON'T ASK for it. Since people are getting hacked because they have the armor, why not give them the requirements to get it and when you see fit, such as the next gameplay update. So, you guys don't have a million annoying e-mails asking for the armor, people don't get hacked, and everyone can be happy. It's not the ONLY Bungie exclusive thing you have, remember the flamy heads. Also, it's not like EVERYONE will wear Recon, but it also allows people who like the armor to wear it. And thanks for the chance to give our input.

Even though Bungie have already said it "No More Armour Permutations," I still think a downloadable, compatible to the engine, Buyable upgrade to armour, whether it's Spartan or Elite, would really, really keep the franchise/Halo 3 community going.
Also, weapon upgrades. It may take a while *cough* decade *cough*, but it would be worth it (come on... bring back the silenced version of the SMG! Make no radar, little noise, but little damage too...)

yea i agree about the armor it would be great to have more of a customizable future when it comes to armor that way theres more of a variaty of what u look like but customizable wepons would just make it more like cod4 and i like halo for having set wepons it has

and a snipers playlist would be really cool

I think the grenade count needs to be changed. Call me a Halo 2 fanboy but considering you don't use incendiary grenade in matchmaking, only in forge edit and in my honest opinion spikes are useless. The spikes are for the most part only good when you stick somebody with them or they are right next to it, when you could get the same result with a plasma grenade. I think it needs to go back to 4 frags and 4 plasmas, seeing as nades are a key component of Halo i think this would be a great improvement.

hey people...

anyway, some improvements i think should be made...

1. Playlists:
DONT GET RID of ANY playlist. even to increase the POP of others...i think its fine.

More playlists, i think more would be great. who doesnt want more? Prefferably team snipers

2. Weapons:

Beam Rifle, i l0ved the beam rifle in Halo 2. there was about 15 shots in it, but now it has 10, i personally think it should be back at 15 and get on more maps...its only (?) on snowbound...and thats a horrible sniping map.

Fuel Rod Cannon, this weapon is pretty fun with its big clip and lots of ammo...i think the ammo should be reduced to 3-4 per clip and full amount of ammo to be 9-12

Incindiary (?) grenade, maybe atleast 1-2 on a new map so not to much lag. but this grenade is pretty fun to play with.

Carbine, im not saying there is very little of these, but the BR overshadows this great weapon, and some Carbine games would be fun (slayer + swat)

i can probably name more...but that would be to much...

make the bungie favorites into a social playlist so ppl can play other ppl's forged content to giv forge mor purpose than aimless fun with ur friends to aimless fun with any1 and everyone. i just think that if there was a playlist that only had the maps from bungie favorites or just player made maps, people might try to make sum wicked kool maps and it would make this game way mor kool than it already is..

An 'Officer's Lounge' is an idea that has appealed to me for some time. The idea is based on my personal experience, of having immense difficulty finding entertaining, competitive games on a regular basis.

With the Trueskill system and my own rank, it can take quite a bit of time for Matchmaking to 'give up' on me and dump into some game where I am grossly out ranking my teammates and opponents, save for one overleveled opponent. This is how the system works to try and create a balanced game, but in the end can punish those who simply want to play a game that is neither too hard nor too easy.

The Officer's Lounge would be a playlist made available to those that have proven themselves in battle. While such an idea could be measured any number of ways, the simplest would involve a minimum rank, say upper 40's, possibly even 50. I know the thought of an elite subgroup would chafe many, but the benefits would be immediate. Matchmaking could do its job and find equally skilled players for entire teams, and those who wanted to get their game on could play competitively with others right away.

The playlist could be random, it could be set to a mix, but either way it would be for either double, or triple XP. Once a person hits 45+, XP is the only way to increase status, and even with Double XP Weekends, the path is long and arduous. The reward system felt by players early on no longer exists, only the drudgery of playing game after game of Zombies just to accomplish something. This would in turn help maintain competitiveness across the board (both in the Lounge and outside, for those wanting to gain access), and coupled with a ban system set to remove 'Officer' status, could help remove griefers.

Thoughts anyone?

Ok. I straddle a fence.
Half of me wants COD4 upgradeable weps (you know it will be easier...)
Half of me just wants some better H3 weps (you know it will be easier on Bungie...)
Also, Idea!!! Considering the pistol is crap, why not upgrade that? Using what I've seen on the ViDocs (Et Tu Brute), you could use some sort of metal, or some object (i.e. body) as a sheild, using a dualwieldable weapon as a offhand weapon. Would go great in Objective types, where you have to either melee the enemy, or drop your item and attack the bugger, which could result in them grabbing the item and attacking you back.
EDIT: The Officer's Lounge sounds good, in theory. Yes, we need more experience awards (like for every medal you get experience, i.e. every head shot gets you one exp), but if that were to happen, we would need bigger experience limits.
