I just bought Halo PC today mostly for the exp. of playing it with a mouse and board.. My only concern was my graphics capability of my laptop.. its a 32meg but it runs off the main memory?? whatever that means.. but ive had trouble playing games in the past such as ghost recon and such.. had to take those types of games back.. well i started it up and of course it told me i dont have the ability to play it but i said continue anyways.. i turned on the lowest graphics settings and it actually played smooth... kinda.. well my question is if i were to play this online with a fast,, and i mean fast connection.. (university connection) does it affect multiplayer game play.. will it still slow down becuz of my poor graphics card or will the fast connection pick up the speed a bit??

also i have heard this a million times that there is no way to upgrade the graphics card in a laptop :( but i just wanna ask.. does anyone have any exp. upgrading a graphics card in a laptop? im only asking just in case 10 pc stores were wrong..

Well i have a poor graphics card (on a pc) and it does slow down the play a bit, however with a fast connection it shouldn't slow down too much, i can play easily.

ive never heard that u cant replace laptp graphics cards.

I havent really had trouble with other games but when i put the graphics settings to the highest (my laptop is fully capable for these settings too) my zoom weapons scope blurs and i expierience a tiny bit of lag...
I have no clue why either...
Well sorry i could'nt help you but i kinda see what you mean and it sucks!

I have read in here somewhere that the better connection speed you have the more info the online game sends to you. So if you tell them that your connection speed is slower than it really is you will get a game that will be easier for your machine to handle which 'in theory' will improve your game play. But this is just a guess since I don't own a laptop and I don't have anything to test it on. Hope it helps!

Hey, ive got a laptop with a semislow processor (amd athlon mobile@512MHz) and a cheap graphics card, and halo online runs perfectly. It matters more what your connection is.

If something goes wrong, start deactivating feature after feature. I deactivate blood effects first (chief starts moving sporadically if i cross a pool of blood) then sound effects to minumum, then particles, etc, etc.

And as far as i know, there is no way to upgrade the graphics card...unless you bash your laptop open or dismantle it from the bottom.

If you turn graphics to low and particles to low or off, then with a fast connection your gameplay will be smooth. I have a Pentium 3 500MHz, 128 RAM, and an old GeForce MX440, and it can run Halo at thoise settings online without lag.

Really, the thing that will slow you is your integrated graphics. Because it shares sytem memory (the RAM that the rest of your system uses), it could be hazardous.

How much RAM do you have? If you have less than 256 i'd be very skeptical...

I ended up running gamespy just to get a taste of online.. it turned out ok.. but plenty of either lag or just my slow computer at work.. im gonna keep playing becuz its so much fun regardless

my zoom weapons scope blurs

Its supposed to be blurred. That gives it the real life experience, like this.

When I look through a real scope, I see a small circle surrounded by black :P

Oh well, it's Halo, in real life I doubt a pistol could own a sniper or a shotgun, etc.

The zoom is supposed to make it challenging to see ur target, but in cheap intergrated graphics it doesn't blur
