How ironic, you call him a moron and you're the one that gave the link to a you fail website. If you've ever read the rules you would know that that is against the rules. Maybe part of the reason you are good at Halo 3 is because of all the players playing. With so many people on Halo 3 you are more likely to run into the unskilled players.

YF (This is all opinions. Ergo, this quickly becomes a fight over difference of thought.)

You know, I just love starting big arguments on the forums, even if I have to contradict myself. Anyways, yes the many people that play could contribute to that fact. This thread isn't as extreme as I was hoping to make it.

lol who cares which one is better.. it all has the same name.. HALO!
halo rocks! just play the game and dont critisize it..
How do games get better if we don't criticize them? There are significant flaws in each game and it's important to acknowledge them so they're not made again.
Yeah, didn't we just have a...what, 5-6 pages long topic about that?

Listen to Mr. HimM Oone. It's Halo folks. Sure, criticize THE game, but there's no logic in comparing the amount of skill needed to master one or the other.

  • 06.09.2008 8:15 AM PDT

Isn't the fact that it's not extreme good? I'm sure the mods don't like to see opposing sides facing each other. But I guess if you're into that sort of thing...

Everyone is different, maybe not in your world, but in real life its true.

  • 06.09.2008 8:54 AM PDT

I'll admit everyone is different but that is not my point. My point is why would you purposely create a thread for the sole purpose of argument. It has already been established, and admitted that these are two different beasts. Comparing the skill it takes to master one over the other is equivalent to comparing whether muffins are better than brownies. There is little to no basis for factual evidence as to which requires more skill. Therefore, the mere existence of this thread is purposeless in nature.

However, according to you, we are here to argue, debate, and fight. Why this would be your primary goal is beyond me.

YF (I'm out of here. No more argument from me.)

Less auto-aim makes it easier to aim on your own, although that may not be true for every one, but its sure true for me. I am good at halo 3, and i suck at halo 2, but according to your logic I should be better at halo 2? Considering you think auto aim = less skill?
I find the contrary to be true and you to be the moron if you think auto-aim creates skill instead of substituting it. It's aim assist that successfully allows players to hit their targets easier, and thus there would be less skill and effort involved in shooting.

Discussion can lead to difference of opinion, and that leads to enquiry and argument, which leads to the truth. If you want to create a thread to state an argument, that's fine, but if you don't expect any refutations and deny them then you're lacking an open mind and don't understand that forums are created for discussion. I would consider that arrogant and narrow-minded. (Personally, I think it's possible to determine which game takes more skill than the other.)

Oh and you forget that Auto-aim isn't the problem with halo 2 its actually the bullet magnetism that everyone hates, which everyone in this thread think I'm talking about. Bullet magnetism is what makes "sweep-sniping" possible, not auto-aim. They are two different things.

Auto-aim may be used as a catch-all phrase referring to bullet magnetism, automated reticule tracking (and occasionally large hit boxes). You think reticule magnetism is a hinderance, and it can be, but it's not that severe and aids a player most of the time and I would have to say trying to compensate for that would not be something I would consider a skill. it would be you who needs to differentiate between the two, I hope we don't have to argue about semantics. wow, halo 2 doesnt take more skill. your just garbage and wish that you could actualy kill people. halo 3 and halo 2 are both hard and take skill, i played halo2 for years and thought it was hard, but i got halo 3 and got alot better and halo 3 is way better.
anyway halo 2 DOES NOT take more skill than halo 3.....unless your garbage. And in that case you should stop playing and go play some other game.

  • 06.09.2008 6:28 PM PDT

Why are you talking about differences in the game mechanics?

How do you people even think? If we would use your theory, this would mean that all good MLG players from Halo 2 would suck balls in Halo 3, but then don't. Why? Becuase they got THE skills. Not H2 or H3 skills, they adapt to the game and use every trick they know and mix it with a sick aim.

Both games takes skill, in diffrerent ways. This is a stupid topic.

Greatest of all time

Can't we all shut up about this and just agree that Halo 1 requires a million times more skill than both of them?

Everyone is entitled to their own wrong opinion.

I'm part of the Bungie.net Minecraft group/server called SeptaCrafters
We're a Bungie.net group that goes to our very own Bungie server. Most players are from the Halo community either off Bungie itself or through word to Halo friends.

halo 1 more skill well the first game i ever played out of halo trilogy was h3 and i got my self to a brig on that i then went on h2 and to be honest i must say i think h2 takes most skill but h1 most skill to be honest i think that has lest skill i put that on legendary on campain and it still isn't a challenge

For me, there was just something about h2 that I prefer over h3. The BR spread and maps are a lot better in h2, and I just like the skill and level system better in h2 also. h3 seems to just have a lot of unnecessary items, being weapons like maulers and spikers and buble shields. The weapons in h2 created an equilibrium and the maps allowed for many strategies.

Phoenix is dead, long live Phoenix!
Is it?

I actually prefer the Halo 1 maps, I really enjoyed the randomness of them. How you could get lost if you took your eye away for a second.
