Lol, I have a GeForce MX440 on my old computer...

Yeah, read the 'buyer's guide to graphics cards' if you like options, but your best bet is the 9600XT. At $130, it is one of the best price/performance ratios I've ever seen and experienced (on another computer I have one, works wonders).

for a $230 you can get a 9800 XT. Or for $200 you can get an x700 pro. For crazy awesome performance get the ATI x800 XT or the nvidia 6800 GT. Those are like $500 though...

Heyyo,

sry to say, the 9800XT's a rip-off. Just a 9800 Pro with more expensive chips to allow higher clock speeds which's why the 9800XT has higher clock speeds. You could just buy a 9800 Pro and OC it to a 9800xt if you wanted to that badly... 9800 Pro cost over $50 less, so that's 1 good videogame right there. ;)

Is the nVidia GeForce FX 5200 any good? I saw it for $30 on TigerDirect and I'm... thrifty.
