When i use a wireless 360 controller with a Reciever on Halo 1 PC, If I move foward, I keep moving foward, even if I let go untill i move a different direction. This applies to other directions too. Its like pacman, you know? It makes me sadface, so does anyone know how to fix this?

Although Halo PC supports gamepads, it doesn't have a walk sensitivity or auto-aim, so the slightest nudge on your thumbstick will send you running with no warning and it's much more difficult trying to shoot things.

Basically, you're screwed since you have no dead zone. I'd say you're better off playing with a mouse and keyboard, so you'll be winface instead of sadface.

Yes, I am a hypocrite, and I'm sorry. I really do mean well, but I'm not running on all cylinders.

Everytime someone buys a copy of Halo 2 Vista, a puppy dies.

You should be able to use a USB mouse on your laptop.

Now, in the quantum moment before the closure, when all become one. One moment left. One point of space and time. I know who you are. You are destiny.

Dude, I bought my very younger sibling a miniature HP USB mouse for $5.95 at a local PC store. Don't be -blam!- me with that 'I have no mouse. period.' bull-blam!-, it's easily optainable, it's just about not being a lazy ass.

All my opinion.

I had a problem with it when I used it. Get a gamepad meant for the computer. The 360 one isn't the best one.

The Xbox 360 gamepad is one of the best controllers I've ever seen and my personal favorite. No other gamepad will change the fact that you'll still be facing the same problems.

I have to agree the 360 controller rocks, but it's terrible dead zone problem makes it tricky for Halo PC.

The thing that makes it the best is the convenient button placement and the diagonal D-pad buttons.

I actually hate the D-pad. It's too "sticky". But the button placement is good yeah!

Maybe there are different versions and you got the good one.

Live for nothing die for something.

I've used a wired one and it works fine, no dead zone.

I tried my Logitech dual-analog gamepad once, and it worked fine when i configured the deadzone using the Logitech software. I still prefer the good ol' mouse and keyboard though.
