ok, even though i always had a basic idea of this, this thread was adopted from mjolnirmarkvi, who said this: (since im new here, someone please team me how to quote!)
"I want dual fire (not dual-weilding). like if you were in a narrow corridor and enimies were pouring in from both sides you should be able to pick up another weapon and shoot in both directions. The screen would split and each thumbstick would control the aim for each gun. I dont know if this would work but it would kinda be like some terminator -blam!"

Now, you know how if you step over a gun it says press X (or in halo 2 it might say press Y) to get it? Well, i was thinking that in certain situations (which Bungie designed. An example is when your back is to a wall of a large room, and to your right side, in the center of your right wall, flood burst in, and in the center of your left wall covenant burst in) it would say Hold X to Dual Fire (or maybe another button). Than, your screen would split vertically, and on the right side youd be seeing the right gun, left side left gun. Now, as soon as you hit X, or whatever, your HUD doesnt change, with an exception that theres a black line in the middle. To move right one, you use the right thumbstick. And obviously sane for left (using left). As for moving, you could use the + thing, although these situatuions will not require to much moving, because its obvious that were not used to the +. Once the 'situation' is over, you would press the same button, as it says " Hold X to Undual Fire." This could be used in multyplayer whenever the screen is divided into a one on one, one on two (only first player could do it), one on one using Xbox live or system link, or 2 on 2 using Xbox live or system link. But you usually wouldnt need it, i know i wouldnt.
So wat do u think?

Oh i get it your saying like if your in a tight situation where the enemies are on both opposite sides you could make the guns fire in different directions to handle both sides then put it back so both guns would shoot in the same direction. That would be knid of cool but also hard dont you think.

DAMM! Good idea! I don't think there's much point in giving any option for moving while "duel firing", though. With two screens of shooting (one for each gun/direction) there'd be too much going on to be able to move... Your attention would be focused on too many things and you'd get flustered.

It reminds me of some quote I heard (or did I just make it up...?) years ago that said something along the lines of: "Humans, if suddenly given extra arms, wouldn't be able to utilize them. The brain wouldn't be capable of performing so many functions at once."

Does that make any sense?
