i think this could really fly, and it's fair.
before i start, though, i want to say this:
PROBLEM: rumble training and team training are flawed in that brand new players can be, and most often times are, for the sake of being new, which is not their fault, owned all the time because anyone/any rank can join. i'm a 13, was a 15, in team slayer, and me and a friend decided to try out some team training. well, we and everyone else got owned royally by the other team because they had 3 22's. YIKES! that was fun...
so here's a solution, and then some, to the problem of being matched up with players that are advanced, relatively speaking of course.
SOLUTION: i suggest setting up training in the same way, with the same idea, as regular matchmaking. i think you should only allow people into training game with approx. the same ranks. this way, we can really train at our level.
on top of the training BY RANK, i also suggest allowing us the oppertunity to train with, and only with, any of the higher brackets (once you go up a bracket, you can't go train with the lower bracket(s), but the catch is the lower brackets have the oppertunity to play with the higher). this will keep the less experienced players safe from ownage, and i think they will probably be more likely to stay in the game. at the same time, by allowing us to train with the higher brackets, (if we so choose) we will get better by playing better players. for me, i learn by playing better players, not players at my own level who think about the same.
chew on it, bungie. maybe even start a poll that expresses this idea.
later.
