Even though most of the halo community has already preordered a copy, i think that with some international advertising, the ever growing fan base of bungie, will keep on rising. Therefor making it easier to take over the world.

Ofcourse this would cost a bundle, but how could bungie not afford it?

God what i would give to be walking around town, and see a huuuge poster of master chief somewhere just so i could laugh at all my PS2 owning mates.

WoG

"...have a killatalor!"

Why? They have probably close to a million copies PRE-ORDERED!

They will probably come close to breaking the all time first day sales record for a video game in the US. Why would they even NEED to advertise?

I think it would be cool, but pointless.

Once the advertising starts, a lot more chodes show up on this forum, which in turn causes more headaches for me. :'(

But seriously, I don't think they should start that stuff until a month or two away from release.

Umm...I think Bungie already has. You got the teaser trailer, the the E3 Halo 2 footage, and a making a Halo 2 Documentary. Plus the speacial edition of the Xbox that came out last week, magazine layouts and news articles. You walk in to you local game shop and I bet everyone of them have some kind of poster, sign or display promoting Halo 2. Not to mention the best advertising tool...word of mouth. Almost every gamer I know is waiting for Halo 2 to be released.

No the havnt started, i think they shouldnt yet because already people who know or have Halo1 know that Halo2 is comeing, and any way they only had like 3 to 4 advertisment's on the TV for Halo1, so it's not that big of a deal.

They could, if they wanted to. But I think the hype has already advertised this game. It wouldn't hurt to do alittle marketing overseas, especially Japan.

The main reason I said yes was because I'm that desperate to see some new footage of Halo 2. I have a feeling we'll see some very nice in-game action at E3.

I'd love to see posters of Halo 2 in local game stores (or in my bedroom), but start advertising now would be totally pointless IMO.
If they would advertise on every media only one week before release, I think pretty much every xbox-owner would still buy the game immediately after the release.

There is no reason for them to advertise. Bungie will do just fine with our without any help from advertising, it be cool, but it doesn't have to happen.

I'm going to have to say no for the simple fact that Bungie isn't in charge of advertising, or at least they shouldn't be. Microsoft being the publisher is who is responcible for advertising the game. And they just advertised it by releasing the Halo Edition Xbox. I'm sure once we get within about a month of Halo 2 releasing M$ will start running commercials and stuff, but they shouldn't be advertising until it's close to releasing. Also maybe they have access to see how many preorders there are and may decide they don't need to spend any money on advertising until after Halo 2's release.

Not just Bungie, but also i think that the XBOX has to be advertised more.

I hardly ever seen any adverts for the box here in the UK, i think microsoft could do a bit better.
