I took up H2 again yesterday and started by getting 2 skulls, blind and sputnik, then restarting from Cairo Station. I forgot just how much of a blast it is to not have the HUD on the screen. It makes you play smarter, and my aim is back where it should be now. Without the reticle, you really have to play more realistically, and your aim gets brutal very quickly when you take your time and do it right!

Yeah, Blind made me a better player and it carries over to other games, such as GoW no scope.

It's not realistic, though. In reality you would see your gun and gun sights. But it is more fun and seems more real with Blind.

Thats hard core! I haven't done that in a long time.... I think the next moment I get I will go back and do the same thing !

I would have loved it if you could still see the gun but everything else was gone. It's cool but it looks kind of silly to me to be firing out of thin air.

I really hoped Halo3 would have fixed that, Marine view would have been so much cooler. Is weapon really a part of HUD?

ARBITER, I CAN'T BELIEVE IT'S NOT BUTTER!!! WORT WORT WORT.

Yeah mate, I love using Blind on Halo 2. Halo 3's sucks because it doesn't tell you to swap for weapons, so I'm always looking at the ground trying to figure out where the desired weapon is.

It keeps you more alert of what you've got, and that kind of focus makes you a better player. No HUD rocks, especially for sniping. If only I had time for this anymore.

Totally agreed; I think it would have been awesome if it would only have eliminated the HUD, and you could line the gun up by eye to pick off your opponents.

It is an interesting skull though, and it has a particularly cool visual effect when combined with the energy sword, which of course you can also pick up on Outskirts.

I believe it helped me be a better player by forcing me to use instinct. It certainly helped me when using no-scope while playing GoW. After using Blind for the last three years, the reticule just gets in the way. It also took me off of relying on the motion sensor while playing Campaign. Plus, when scoping, you see things around the area your scoping instead of it being obscured.

(Bungie > 343i)

The blind skull made it more fun at times.

It did. Without the complicated, not to mention obstructive HUD in the way, you could truly see the expansive world in front of you. I do believe it can be useful for machinima purposes as well. Or at least in Halo 2...

In Halo 3, it helped me learn to visualize an imaginary targeting reticle instead of resorting to "pray and spray." In theory, playing campaign with the Blind Skull active could take away some of the difficulty of SLASO.
