Subject: Forerunners CANNOT be Humans.

With B.B. gone, the passion of Bungie.net has lessened.

There are a lot of kids here. Even me. I'm only 16.

I'll act as an arbitrator in this:

First, no Bible- or Evolution-bashing. Although I personally agree with Bring the Noise, I still don't think its nice to say that the Bible is crap. Just simply say you disagree with it. We don't need any holy wars and religious debates here.

Second, lets get back to the Forerunner.

Third, nothing has actually been proven yet. Its a matter of belief. As Shael said (more or less), we'll just have to choose to believe in the one we want to believe in.... Or, if you're like me, you can not believe in anything.

Fourth, its inaccurate to say that there is very little evidence to back evolution. There's quite a bit of research that has gone into it.

And finally, this isn't a "religion" forum. Lets not come out and say bluntly that "there is a god" or "there is no god." People can get offended (I don't, but others can).

And for those who look in textbooks for their information, don't trust whats written in them. High school texts are of very poor quality, information-wise. Its better to use the internet. This is just a heads up, I'm not yelling at you.

We should try our best not to get angry at or to offend anyone... Can't we all just... get along? Now, back to the Forerunners (I haven't got anything yet)

And I'm very much aware of the fact that this post isn't about the Forerunners, even though I said we should get back to it. So don't point it out.

I agree. Bring the noise is on a touchy subject about the flood (the great water kind) their is scientific evidence that supports the flood. and i feel offended

"343 guilty spark said on the last level look at all our lost history"
the word being "our" he was made by 4runners so humans i think

I'll say it again. Don't trust 343's words just yet.

I hope we get to see what they look like in Halo 2. All the aliens in Halo look awesome, especially the Prophets and Elites. ... If only I could draw my concept the way I want to...

Offended or not all I did was state facts. Another one for you is that there is 0 evidence of that supports the flood. It's not a touchy subject. It has been scientifically proven that there was no flood. Not to mention the historical accounts, or lack there of.

I may have to wait till tomorrow to type up my forerunner theory. I'm watching the King's game.

Here is part of my forerunner theory. I posted this right after the site updated

Wow, imagine being inside of a giant room with various obsticles (like hang em' high) and having glass above your head like a bubble, and on the outside is nothing but ocean. Or maybe i'm just high. I do think what you said makes sense. Perhaps the reason Earth hasn't been glassed yet is because the covenent are looking for something. Something similar to the rock on reach? Bermuda Triangle? Atlantis?

I should explain a little better i guess. In "First Strike" The rock they found on reach had the ability to seemingly distort or transform space and time. If indeed there was a similar rock on earth, where is the obvious place? The Bermuda Triangle. Where does atlantis come in? Maybe the Forerunners are the citizens of the lost city of Atlantis, and they left the rock there. Right under the Bermuda Triangle.

All right, I've been reading other posts and I must say one thing. I did NOT come upon these forums to make myself look smart, or to start such big trouble upon subjects such as this. I came here for, hopefully, the same reason you guys have came. To share your own thoughts upon different aspects, to meet new Halo fans, and so on.

I was reading an FAQ, or something, I don't entirely remember -- stated in a form that they like for us to talk theories and such on the forum. So, I read a few threads, and I come upon the thought that I posted at the beginning regarding how I thought, upon my own belief, why the humans cannot be the forerunners.

If you don't believe this theory, I'm not forcing you to believe it. I just wanted you to post your thoughts on my own founding, and also share your own beliefs -- rather then get pretty dirty on it. Regardless, I'm really surprised. I never thought things would get this deep.

In fact, it's so deep, I can't really do a lot of replies, unless it's telling how amazed I am of them and how I somewhat idolize their intellect.

Hope I'm not sounding rude myself, now. LOL. Sorry if I am.

Hear hear. We should respect each others beliefs and get back to waiting for Halo 2. It takes WAY too long to type this -blam!-...

Here's my hypothesis on the forerunners, lifted from the other thread. It's long, but i think it's good.

I believe that the forerunners were human. Here's the reasons, and i'll be using examples and references from the first game and the books, so spoiler warning if you haven't read them. Oh, and it's kinda long. Sorry.

Let's see, 343 Guilty Spark calls the Master Chief "Reclaimer" as if it KNOWS him, or at least beings like him, from experience.
343 is "the monitor of installation 04" right? So there must be AT LEAST 3 other forerunner installations out there. Plus 343 also says "Technically, this installation's pulse has a maximum effective radius of 25,000 light years. But, once the others follow suit, this galaxy will be quite devoid of life." Others? So logically, there must be a ring world spaced roughly every 15-20,000 light years in every direction from Halo, to ensure even coverage of the galaxy and ensure that there is no food (read:life) left for the flood.
BUT, the forerunners would like to exempt themselves from destruction, surely. When you put circles together on a map, you get gaps. So by putting some rings in the 'wrong' place, they could create a gap to spare earth from totally being wiped out.
But they'd want to let the flood die first, so they create a primitive colony in a 'Halo hole' on earth, activate the halo NETWORK, which is what it would have to be to cover the ENTIRE galaxy, in full knowledge that by the time we crawl back into space, the flood will be dead, all bar the ones kept in containment on the halos for study.
Hence 343 says "Why would you hesitate to do that which you have already done?" not only that, but in the books, several references are made to John-117 recognising the forerunner writing, but what he can't put his finger on is from where. Maybe a sufficiently advanced race could use a language based not on letters but on instinct, or one that speaks directly to the brain, or something like that. It would certainly be faster.
Also, Cortana "cracks the code" on the stone the brutes were looking at on Sigma Octanus IV, and uses the co-ordinates as references for the jump made while initiating the Cole Protocol at the end of the Reach conflict. These lead STRAIGHT to Halo, also, accidentally, leading the faster covenant ships there. The Covenant, being faster, get there first, and we all know what happens from there. More of these artifacts are later found on Reach, with strong hints that there are more, possibly on Earth, the worlds WE are most likely to reach, and therefore to explore fully, find these artifacts, and 'get back on our feet' as soon as possible, to give us a helping hand as it were, back to our former level of sophistication.

I could keep going, but I know you're all sick of reading by now, so i'll let someone else take over. Sorry bout the big post.

Don't worry about causing problems, Serpx. You did it indirectly, which isn't bad. Its the others who, for some reason, automatically assume that you think you're right. I've had these things happen to me, as well.... there's no real way to get around them.

Let me just state that perhaps (this is IF the Covenant got coordinates to Sol from the Crystal or another Forerunner artifact found on reach) the Covenant "unintentionally" found Earth. Maybe they were looking for Mars, Venus, or another planet in our solar system (particularly the Jovian gas giants, since it says in the Halo Documentary, "Forerunner facilities floating in the atmospheres of gas giants")? I don't think the coordinates could've pointed directly to Earth, due to its unfixed position (I know that the Sun also has an unfixed position, but its way more fixed than a planet). Cortana's assumption that they were headed towards Earth was logical, however. And the Covenant might've known that UNSC forces would be in the system, so that might be why they wanted such a large fleet.

If the Covenant got the coorinates from an unpurged/undestroyed nav database in ONI's Castle Base, then they were looking for Earth (found before Castle Base blew up, most likely).

I just had to reply to the guys on page 1 of this forum. If you have any senes of realizm, not to offend anyone, then you must come to the conclusion that humans CAN NOT travel through time in the "real world." If you agree that time tavel isn't possible, and that is a whole other subject we could debate, then one must come to the conclusion that the Halo universe isn't based on the "real," or our reality. If you've read The Fall of Reach, then you know about the time travel issues.(read the book if you don't get what I'm talking about) Because of this, the time traveling that is, one shouldn't base his whole theory on scientific research done outside the Halo universe, like the guy who started this whole discussion. It is quite possible that the Humans are the Forunners. The Halo universe is taken from the mind of Jason Jones, not from reality.

Actually I'd have to say it's based on both. I hope that in 500 years we will be able to travel to different galaxies. Remember the game isn't based in 2001, It's based in 2552. The physics and the space travel is explained very realisticly. That is why they got a physics major and a sci-fi guru to write their books.

think about it... why would bungie design such a realistic game? you know what I think... it's destiny... bungie were destined to make this game, but as we all think its fake, there is the possibility the universe presented in it may exist, and given the number of possilble universes out there(up to infinite as ive heard) means that our lives may already be laid out before us

you decide for yourself in your life? i think not, i am a strong believer in this stuff, believe me i have actually SEEN parts of the future at times, the experienced it days later.

you dont believe in spiritual stuff? then you dont belive in whatever spirits make us live!

sure our bodies can operate on organs(hardware for example) but without the soul/living spirit(software) what powers us to work? Ponder over this, its really interesting!

I agree with hikaru in what he said in the divine word of God.
i also agree that halo is just a game and it should remain that.

Defend others who can't save themselves.
What is more beautiful than selfless denial.

may we learn from our triumphs, and from our mistakes. may we always remember, and may we never forget, the importance of every moment, the value of a friend, the sureness of change, and the great price of peace.

end...

Problem is there is no way to prove those teories of man. That''s why I stick to the divine word of God....Also I remember Frnakie mentioning Halo 2 proving/disproving the exsistence of God....I go with the Proving for right now thank you very much.

Bring the Noise, the theory on Pangea would be a nice tie in to this, since Pangea was said to be around almost 200 million years ago, and the Earth's plates move quite slow, it would prove that the Earth is much, much older than we would all think.
