Actualy America was founded on Christianity and it is one of, if the not the, greatest nation on the planet. But with a majority of people forsaking Christianity and its teachings, things are quickly spiraling out of control and within the next 100 years I predict that the country will be void of morals and full of chaos and within a hundred years after that I predict our country will fall. We are resembling ancient rome in more ways than one.

holy cow this has gotten crazy

You guys went from discussing whether or not the forrunners were human to whether or not there is a god. That's understandable after reading the first post, but still, I don't think that this was what bungie had in mind for their forums.

Here's a thought... lets talk about something new and exciting.... HALO!!

Man....actually.........we dont know for SURE if we evolved from Apes........being as that is just a THEORY. And furthermore....what if the forerunners didn't come from earth in the first place but left some of their kind on earth way back when...........THE beginning of earth humans.

Just a thought

it all comes down to this, Halo is placed in a science fiction setting, so no matter how mow much modern day scientific reasoning (or religous reasoning) you put behind your opinions on the Forrunner, they are still just opinions, not fact. As far as halo is concerned, Bungie is god. :P

On that note i will offer up my own thoughts:

The Forrunners are not humans. I have no real reasoning behind this, it's just my gut feeling.

*Sigh* You continue to be wrong again and again and again. This country was founded on religious freedom, not just christianity. And is one of the most corrupt, power driven, crime ridden, countries in the world. To say that without christianity there would be no morals is ignorant. I'm not catholic, yet you don't see me getting smashed and beating my wife just to confess my sins on sunday. You also don't see me molesting children.

Forerunners must have discovered us before because forerunners can create and deystroy races as we please. They must have discovered us early on or, they made us. Correct me if I am wrong, didn't the forerunners create the flood to begin with?

I think the Forerunners are robots that create and destroy beings at their will.

Hahahahahah!

Hehehehahahahahahahahah!

HAH! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

This is absolutely insane! -blam!- insane! I knew relating the Forerunner to the evolution theory was a bad idea (no offense, serpx. I still think your willingness to research before you post is very commendable). This is turning into a mini holy war! Crusade, Jihad, Pogram (well, maybe not exactly a pogram), call it what you want. This is a Bungie-related forum! Not a religious forum. Not to be used for missionary work. Freedom of speech or not, saying that one thing is absolutely right over another is egotistical (THAT was aimed at you, kalisoldier. I specifically said that nothing has been exactly proven. I didn't say either view point was wrong. I didn't say either viewpoint was right.). Everyone stop. Lets stay out of eachother's business. Its going to get on everyone's nerves. Lets focus on Bungie-related theories. Not evolution, and not creation. Petty little squables like this is what starts wars. I'm beggining to hope Bunige blocks this thread.

Before we rip eachother's throats out, lets stop. NOW. No more responding to threats, or insults. It'll just get worse. I highly doubt that Bungie appreciates crap like this.

Bungie implies that human history is alot larger than it would seem.
All I´m saying is let bungie finish the story before we try to finish it for them...but then again the speculation is quite fun.

I must say, you people have way too much time on your hands. I am tought such things as evolution in a classroom, I come here to get info on games. The idea of forerunners is simply that, an idea. Pure fiction, lets keep it that way

With B.B. gone, the passion of Bungie.net has lessened.

The Forerunners created Halo to study and contain the Flood, as we all know. But where did they find the Flood? Did they create them? Merely find them on some planet? Or were they attacked by them?

Its hard to believe that they simply found them (for me, anyhow). If they occupied their own planet (with or without another species to feed on), it seems, to me, that they would've died out very quickly. They expand at an alarming rate, and unless they found something that can take them into space, they would've consumed all that they can very quickly... To me, that means they would've starved to death soon after (having no more food to get). It seems odd that a creature would deliberately go out and eat everything, knowing the food souce (organisms w/ sufficient biomass) isn't exactly renewable, thus dooming itself. Perhaps the Forerunners found the Flood at the right (well, wrong) time... before they died out. Or perhaps the Flood consumed native organisms with sufficient biomass at a late enough time to have access to developed spacecraft. That would allow them to journey forth to more planets and consume more things....

Or, maybe the Flood are actually smart enough on their own (through a host's mind) to develope space travel technology (even if the host originally hadn't developed it).

I kinda think the Forerunners created them (not neccessarily as a biological weapon... due to how the Flood work, but perhaps a biological self-preservation tool, which I'll map out for you later). I only think this based on what we know and don't know about the Flood. There may not be any hard facts to actually proove it, but its only a theory. We'll never really know until Bungie tells us, but we can hypothesize and theorize.

Just what I think. I am NOT saying I'm right. I am NOT asking you to agree with me. I am NOT trying to offend anyone.

Honestly though, I think that Flood can survive in a vacum.

  • 04.21.2004 8:03 PM PDT

With B.B. gone, the passion of Bungie.net has lessened.

Perhaps.... But can you not just say things like, "I am 18 and [in] college, you are wrong?" I don't really know what you're trying to say in that (no offense)... Are you saying that because you are older and a college student, you're right? Or are you just joking? I'm just confused a bit (pardon my ignorance in that).

Anyhow, its said that the Flood can alter the atmosphere, so I'm assuming that they can withstand atmospheres harmful to us and most aliens that we've seen (possibly excluding Grunts, since they breath methane)... Maybe they require no air to breath whatsoever, like you said. But even if they don't breath, I think that they'd still need a means to get off-planet, which means they need hosts to accomplish that.

  • 04.21.2004 8:16 PM PDT

WoG

"...have a killatalor!"
ROMANS 1:18

You think a covenant of alien races working together to rid humans from the universe with plasma weapons, slipspace technology, "smart" AI's, bioengineered soldiers, energy shields, cryogenic "sleep", etc. is realistic?

I hate to say it bro, but if you believe that, and also believe in evolution...it doesnt look good for the good ol darwin camp...

You want -blam!-ing third grade? Listen to yourself! You use age as an excuse for wisdom, and it's a bunch of bull! Not only is age not prerequisite for wisdom, but it often doesn't change a thing. Your religiocentric, irritating, absolutist philosophy is full of -blam!- (w/ a capital "S"!). Science is not anti-god, it is pro-fact. Religion is fine, it was originally created when mankind was EVOLVING and needed something to explain the world so that he could sleep at night. Faith in a higher deity is perfectly justifiable; but when a religious organization has so brainwashed the participants that they cannot see logic, it has gone too far.

can we please try to keep the discussion on topic-- Halo?
Thanks
-Aeoin

LoL, it was a joke bro. I was making fun of those 2 kids that tried to say they were 18, but couldn't type. I'm actually 22 but ehhh who cares?
