I'm sorry if this has already been done, but I tried and couldn't find one.

I would like to know which one is more popular and if and how it affects your gameplay in Halo.

I personally use the controller-S and am better than my brother. It is a close match, but I constantly win. However, if I switch to a regular controller nicknamed "hamburger", He will win by quite a large margin. I find that the joysticks are so different that I find it hard to switch.

the regular control? you mean the one they designed for either giants or octopuses? man those things SUCK! in my opinion. they are wayyy too big.and i have small hands. so the controller s is definently better for me. I have the green one, its cool!

Me: "OMFG, Dude... wtf!"
AbolitionofMan: "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to betray you."
Me: "That's the 4th time in this game alone!"
Chris: "Third, besides he had the flag I was trying to stop him, how was I supposed to know you were there."
Me: "I said, 'I got the Flag, don't shoot.'"
Chris: "Well those Wraith shots take a while to reach you."
Me: "You were right next to me, I had killed him and a minute passed before you decided to shoot."
Chris: "Hahahahaha, yeah... that was great."

The Duke was the best. It was PERFECT.... those Crappy S suck. I can use the basic buttoms ok... but try using the White and Black buttons, it's so hard. And you have to completely move the hand to press the Back or Start buttons. They only made the S cause in Japan the people thier, (Naturally smaller) could not use them. Here... they should've continued making them. That was the best Controller I ever used, it fit so well, and was so comfortable to use. Never have to move your hands, just easier move your fingers and all the buttons are easy to reach and use w/o having to over extend a finger.

I liked the S because it felt more like a ps controler wich was my first console and I grew used to its size (i hate ps/ps2 now but it was cool when the XBOX didnt exist)

The size of the original controller was what put me off buying an xbox at first, definitely prepare the S. Its the best console controller in history i dont like the psx, ps2 or ps dual shock controllers i always feel like i'm gonna break the damn things and you know what? i usually do! i have so many dual shocks that dont vibrate in a box at home its untrue. Also what were nintendo thinking with the N64 controller, not too bad (first ever controller to implement the trigger feature!) but still the shape was a little pointless, dont know about the gamecube cos i have never played it and never want to!

I definatly prefer the regular controler. Why? Because controller S doesn't make sense to me. The regular controller works better, and I've found that it doesn't break as often. I have small hands, by the way, and I can still use the regular much better than the S. I will admit that at first it was a little awkward, but as soon as I got used to it it rocked!! But, hey, use what works best for you.

I prefer the bigger controllers but I'd use the small controller too.

I started out with the DUKE and i loved it, ofcourse my analogs got loose after a good 2yr bashing and so i got the S controller....at first i thought it was too small thought i was gonna brake it...but then i got use to it and NOW i HATE the duke...S is so much better, all the buttons easy to reach...better control.

About 2 months ago I broke my official XBOX controller (The wire had pulled out of the control, and it was frayed).

I had to resort to using the crappy unofficial versions that are usually given to you for free in an XBOX package. It wasn't long till the right thumbstick started to stick and be unresponsive.

I went out today and bought 2 controllers. One the original and one the S-type. Already knowing that the original was a cool controller (having it for 2 years) I plugged in the S-type and played a level or 2 of Halo. Its absolutely fantastic!

I must say that I think both controllers are equally as good, I like the chunkieness of the original because it fits really good. But I like the smallness of the S-type because it's kinda like the Play Station controls. I'm not a Playstation 2 gamer but I'm sure like many of you I was a Playstation 1 gamer when I was younger. It is quite instictive when you put the S-type in your palms. I adapted to it really easily in about 10 minutes.

IN MY OPINION, BOTH CONTROLLERS ARE EQUALLY AS GOOD AS EACH OTHER

I've really gotten used to my green Controller S, so I like it a lot better than the original controller. I tried the original one at a Halo party a little while back, I could barely kill anybody I was so uncomfortable with it. It's S all the way for me.
