I am sick of seeing the emblems people have that blatantly look like a -blam!-. The ones with the rocket and the ones with the grenade are simply lame. Isn't this the reason that we are NOT allowed to have custom avatars on Bungie.net?! Bungie may as well let us have custom avatars if they are going to let this go on, if not then something must be done. It is foolish of Bungie to have overlooked such an obvious error, but I do believe some kind of repricussion is called for. Whether it be not being allowed to use their avatar, or even blacklisting for a day or more I would be content.

Thank you

Sorry to seem ignorant, but I kinda have an idea what you're on about but can you provide some evidence?

GT: FogFilledForest

1gage
Pronunciation: 'gAj
Function: noun

Etymology: Middle English, from Middle French, of Germanic origin.

1 : a token of defiance; specifically : a glove or cap cast on the ground to be taken up by an opponent as a pledge of combat.

Hey miles,

I think you should read that over one more time. Blacklisting them? Come on. There's people out there that will always find away to make something harmless into something rude. For example (_][_)... Now, we can't make the keyboard people take out those keys just because a select few use them in an inappropriate way. Everyone's avatar is a refection of them self. In thus this is no different. I say let the small and immature minded ones continue to us them for we will be able to know them before even having to socialise with them.

I'm sorry but I find that quite funny.

I look at it this way: If someone really wants that for their emblem, it expresses the way they feel I guess. I mean, it is funny. Some may take bad, but it just makes that person unique.

I would be even more depressed (hint: Frowny, lol) if bungie took away the option to have your emblem for your avatar. It's what makes someone unique on the forum, if you aren't a Mod.

And blacklisting? That is kind of ridiculous, seeing as if the person isn't causing problems, that person shouldn't be banned.

Exactly! If they have it like that, that's their choice. Stop whinging and see the funny side!

lol, I only mean that the entire point of not being able to use custom avatars was instated because of Bungie's fear of this outcome. I have heard every mod, including you Recon, say that we cannot have custom avatars because inevitably soeone will post some pr0n. Now, of course I know that this is very remotely phallic but it is still the source of the ban on custom avatars. I say that if they can have their, lol, 'Twig and Berries' as their avatar I want to use my ou\wn custom avatar.

PS I said banning if it got out of hand! Only as a final resort.

LOL Inkblots......I mean I never heard of such a test or an EGG or CAT scan or had a MRI of my head. Well then mabey an inkblot could be a cool avatar.

Back on topic.

Anyways if you are complaining about everyone useing the same avatar then just remember how it was before the XBL avatars or even the new bungie.net avatars. Now I have sceen some wird experments where people are blending the foreground color with the background color to make an illusion of a difrent emblem all together and I see nothing wrong with that. Why don't you just pick the best avatar that fits you and leave it at that.

Right, I have no problem with the blending of colors to form new-ish emblems. I only find it vexing that though people are finding ways around the "No custom avatars because we all know what someone will inevitably use" and nothing is being done. I am not saying that the emblems should be taken away, I am in NO WAY WHAT SO EVER saying that. I just feel that it is unfair for them to be using emblems of that nature when using avatars of that nature is the reason for our not being able to have custom avatars.

lol, inkblots

My psych class took a similar test (the teacher made her own ink blots that she'd used for years). I thought mine were interesting because I saw a ram or some kind of beast in every one, yet no one else saw anything similar.

I thought it was odd how something I was so positive was a ram no one else could see. The Egyptian god for male fertility was a ram. :P

I've never even seen/noticed anyone with an avatar like on that you are talking about, but if Bungie deems it as inappropriate then they will deal with it, but that would probably be much more trouble than it's worth.

They think it's "funny" and "original."

Just like all of those guys with the, "Deeznutz," GTs.

My question is, does it really matter? I mean, it's meant for a joke if someone has it I assume... And plus it's not that big of a deal. It's just a male body part...

No, its just a rocket.

  • 02.18.2005 4:43 PM PDT

I'm not that active, but never dead.

I completely agree with the: "you see what you see".

I bet those people make those avatars just because they know that people like you might see the avatars that way... you just being manipulated. When I see those avatars, all I see is immature humor, which is still funny though.

"A Rocket is a Rocket by any other name."

Besides, don't sweat the small stuff in life, and it's all small stuff.

I see nothing wrong with my emblem. I like to use Grenades. Therefore i thought it appropriate to have that as my emblem.

You are fully entitled to your own opinion but please do not insult me or my emblem.

One more thing. Custom avatars would be good.

No, they wouldn't. The average user maturity here is far too low for Bungie to take such a risk.

Yeah, this is living example of why custom avatars don't exist.

That grenade emblem above is not the type I am talking of.
