Thanks for choosing to whine over being a productive member of the community and possible element towards advancing Reach.

Great I haven't even gotten Contact Harvest yet. Now that's two more books I need to get.

all these books are getting to me. i dont think that more books would benefit fans of the series i mean it was bad enough that halo 3 got huge publicity then the story was not up to the hype. Now 6 books!? the first three was just enough to explain the game and loose ends OF THE GAME. now there making all these sub stories: the missing Grey Team, jonhsons past life, and spartans that are never mentioned in the games ( i think).

All in all: its not benefiting the halo experience its benefiting microsoft. what do you guys think?

Awesome! I've actually wondered from time to time where Gray Team was, maybe this will be another Covenant Team up of sorts.

Oh, and is this where Frankie has been, or is he still going to possibly help Ensemble or Peter Jackson with the next Halo series games.

whooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo ooooooooooo

can't wait to read this sounds cool, it would be cool if they as in "gray team" go back to onyx and frees the trapped spartans there but if not then still cool, and hopefully they will make a direct sequeal to GOO after this one

ps i also which it was nylund, contact harvest sucked really bad, no offence joe (hope i don't get banned hahaha) but maybe this guy will surprise us, also as a halo fan he prob do a good job

Aww, no Eric Nylund... :(

Look on the bright side- It can't be worse than Contact Harvest.

Contact wasn't that bad, at least Sarge got his nuts milked! anyway all of the books are great some better than others in different ways, I have read loads of sci fi from Arther C.Clarke, Stephen Baxter and Issac Asimov and they are all good in there own ways too!

Just give it a chance!

  • 06.16.2008 5:09 PM PDT

Great! I still have to read Contact Harvest though.

Silence.. I Kill You..... At the end of the day the Halo universe is so big with so many different arcs and pathways you could write another 6 books and still grip a real Bungie / Halo fan!!!! (Put it this way books are cheaper than games so thats better on your wallet and you can still get entwined in the haloverse!!)

HALO BOOKS FTW DEFO

I wish it were written by Nylund too. I think his books are most interesting because they describe the nature of the legacy of the Spartans. Ghosts of Onyx and Fall of Reach are amazing.

My second favorites are First Strike and Contact Harvest. First Strike fits Nylund's style but was not quite as good as his other two. Contact Harvest was a completely different style that I don't like as much, but I still enjoyed the story because the story itself was well-written. Plus, Contact Harvest has an awesome ending (no, I'm not talking about Avery and Jilan, but about Mack's logs in the last few pages).

Halo: The Flood was not too entertaining to me because I had already experienced the same story with Halo 1. Sure, it was enriched, but it still lacked the sense of fresh appeal that all of the other books had.

Anyway, I'm willing to give Mr. Buckner a chance. As long as it stays true to the Halo Universe and manages to entertain, then in my eyes it is a welcome addition to the Halo Universe.

Awesome, can't wait.

I wish that Joseph staten (author of contact Harvest) was writing it though. He is the only one that accually brought to life a totally new story line. Ghost of onyx did alot, like explain why the spartans disapered, but Contact harvest really is the prequel to all of them, and the best written.

Hope this one can achieve my expectations and hopefully more, keep up the good work bungie

"Seems to me you should spend less time on that article and more time working on that novel you've been working on!!!"

Awesome! Always up for another good read. Wish we had like an excerpt or something from it though, like the other ones. That always got me more pumped.
