'16 days! Thats nearly two weeks!'

Oh and a question to those who have read Contact Harvest. Is it actually worth the read? My friends say it sucked and reviews don't exactly support it so I'd rather have solid confirmation on whether or not it would be a waste of my time.

Contact Harvest is deffinatly worth the read. The only reason people say it 'sucks' or is 'no good' is because the information craving Halo fans were disapointed because it didn't expand on the events of the previous books or the cliffhanger of Ghosts of Onyx. It is a prequel to the events of those books telling us of the Human's first contact with the Covenant. Its a very good read and very well written by Joe Statten giving alot of information on past events and the forming of the Covernant and our all time favourite Sgt, Avery "kick-arse" Johnson.

I enjoyed it alot. I'm certain any hardcore fan would too.

what im thinking is something along the lines of because a ship with spartan grey team escaped from some covenant action and cause of the cole protocol they found another forerunner artifact. maybe another halo or somthing. im thinking of it being a fight between spartans and flood.

and to whoever said that 6 books is ruining a game and just sucking money out of it maybe you should take a step back and look at the halo universe as a whole and embrace them through all mediums. unless your just one of those people that play the game cause you can shoot people and dont care for the story behind it. (nothin against that but i personally find the story much more satisfying then game mechanics)

edit : and im so happy that i was just thinking about looking up info on a new halo book and it was just announced. how lucky is that?

Sucking money out of a game would be something which was done with Deus Ex, Or any DBZ game. Halo, a least at the moment is not Totally turned into a means for M$'s cash. The books from the few I've read, have all been ridicously badass and excelent reads. I personally think that their should be no limit to the books, I'd certainly buy any if they were available.
And as for this new book, I'll be awaiting for it eagerly-if it even is stocked near me... that is.

i cant wait for the next book to come out. i love the others and think they are awsome. i am shure this next one wont dissapoint. i would really like to know what happend to the spartans of blue team when ghosts of onix ended. maybe that oner will be after The Cole Protocol. and i have to agree with Captain jackKFC (three above me, the other long winded one). i feel the story line was kina rushed for halo 3. i mean you only get to use the hornet twice and the same with the spartan laser. personaly i think theat the game could have been streched out into two seperat games. one on earth and one on the ark. but i digress. cant wait for the next book and hope it lives up to the standerd the other books and set.

Bringing down MLG one noob at a time.

Awesome glad to see a new book is coming out I couldn't put the others down when I got them. This book should pretty much wrap up the only remaining mystery in the trilogy story arc (except of course where in the hell Master Chief is right now).

I read FOR and was so turned off by Nylunds wooden writing that i haven't read another one. Nylunds good for kids, but for the more well-read members of the Halo community it was dissapointing. This new guy shows some promise from the awards he's gotten, i may get this one.

2yrs ago you guys listed all your favorite sci-fi books and books that had influenced you. Thanks to you guys i've read Snow Crash around 7 times, thanks again.

How much does bungie actually input into these books? Do any of your staff help in the story line?

Nowadays we don't have much input to be honest. Microsoft owns Halo and will ultimately decide what to do with it whether it be books or something else. As long as we're working together though, we are both going to ensure that everything is consistent and correct. This is the type of thing Frank will be doing now that he has joined the MSFT team.

This particular book was started a while ago though and at the time, Bungie writing lead Frank and our resident Halo story expert Robt McLees were very much involved in helping to shape the outline and make sure everything fit properly within the Halo Universe and canon. We should still see periodic updates and copy as it's being produced but mostly just from a loose advisory/review role.

I heard someone say once (paraphrasing here) "Multiflag on Blood Gulch with your friends is what makes Halo, Halo." I GUARANTEE that more people agree with that sentiment than "Getting a 50 in MLG is what makes Halo, Halo." - Oboewan42

I hope it's better than Contact Harvest.. That was way worse than all the other Halo books out so far.

Should be another great read, Bungie; although I have yet to find Contact Harvest in small print, so I am both glad and sad.
When I spotted the big book at B&N, I wondered if I should get it since it didn't fit with the rest of the collection. If anyone has any info on if/where to find the latest novelization in a small 6.6x4.1 inch paperback, you would be very helpful.

I <3 Bungie.

Why isn't punching babies an Olympic sport? Curling's an Olympic sport. Maybe we should try curling with babies... Yeah. That could work.

Looks great. Can't wait. But...

When are we going to see a sequel to Ghosts of Onyx? =(

OOO! I'm so happy! But... this new writer better be up to snuff. I don't want another book like The Flood.

So I guess since Bungie had a three book contract with Tor, that Eric Nylund won't be doing another novel. If that's the case, I'm very, very sad.

prob between 2540-2552 and its the "lost "spartan 3 team from ghost of onyx

  • 06.18.2008 9:07 AM PDT

Here's my two cents.

This one I think will show how Spartan-458(AKA Nicole) from DOA Ultimate(I think) was sent in the past and maybe something happened and they were sent to enable to Cole Protocol on a base or ship??

And remember all Spartan II teams had color references. ex. Blue team(Cheif, Linda, Will and Fred and Kelly), Red team, Green team and Grey Team.

Spartan III on the other hand had Alpha(Team Wolf Pack), Beta(Echo Team, Team Foxtrot, Team Romeo ect) and Gamma(Team Saber, Team Katana and Gladuis)companies
