Yeah, it's the best PCI you can find. Framerates? Prolly about 40 fps on low res with most graphics on in Halo. If you like UT2004, you'll love it's graphics. Even on low cards it has phenominal graphics; same goes for Half-Life 2.

Don't expect to compete with AGP cards, but it is better than integrated. You'll gain the ability to turn on stuff like specular and lighting, although I recommend avoiding lighting and maybe specular, as Halo lags a lot with these on.

what about a 800x600 res i know i probably wont get good framerates with 1280 by whatever. im gonna use this card to plug it into my tv. lol. my monitor sucks. its max res is 800x600. but anyways, i want to play hl2 too its a nice game. they really should make the integrated better. its crappy. so could i play this at high or just medium?

You might get lower framerates, like 30 instead of 40, at that res. Integrated getting better? Nope. It's like there's a behind the back deal between ATi/Nvidia and the mobo companies. Besides, having integrated be the standard would mean hard upgrading. In terms of upgradability, cards are better.

very true but im tired of people not knowing and getting ripped off. getting your pc and then saving 100$ is not easy for a 13 year old.

As you can see, my average framerate was just aboot 41.76F/S.

I'd like to see that pci card get 40F/S on those same settings. Sry to say, but your framerate will probably be 35F/S tops on that timedemo.

Heyyo,

Yeah, screen rez gives your comp quite the beating.. then again, it forces it to render a heckovalot more pixels.
