Something that would make Halo 2 more realistic and cooler, both SP as MP, weather control(MP) and effect on all behaviour(Both)

So if you look in the sun you will be stunned, you can be covered with snow, cars will behave very bad in bad wether and so on..Cool or what?

That would look pretty I must admit but would probably be too processor intensive. So long as wheather affects me "visually" I'll be quite happy.

I'd go further though and ask for environmental controls. That was you can select day, night, moonless night, cloudy and overcast, light rain, heavy rain and thunderstorms...

There's so many possibilities and each one would change the way the game is played. Setting the game to randomly select the environmental options just before each match would be awesome too.

Thanks Zamamee. Flamechu, you're not using your imagination. Think about playing Blood Gulch at night (Preferably without sniper rifles) skulking about in the darkness, searching out your enemies.

Think of that warthog with its halogen lamps blazing through the night. What a target!

There's a lot of strategy involved when you take the environment into account. Armies have lost battles entirely because they were attacked at just such a time that the sun was in their eyes.

yes, imagine a sandstorm in a desert how different you would play in it compared to if the whole area was calm.
now imagine a sandstorm at night.
there would be so many possibilities

A good example of how the weather affects the games is the operation Barbarossa(1941) and Napoleons crusade to Russia

i think this is a really good idea, being able to set the weather on random sounds like it would be pretty awesome.

ive always wanted a night time level for muliplayer where you have to use nightvision

I mean come on its earth we have weather everyday so why would it be different in the future. So we need weather in MP for a realistic earth.

Draerden, as usualy your ideas are great. Weather would be very cool. Just imagine Waterworks, sneaking around, with a Banshee flying around blind, and relying on your radar to make most of your kills. It would involve strategy, and it woule not be a twitch-shooter .

Nooooooo Halo 2 is a twitch-shooter. Why does everyone hate twitch-shooters they are so much more fun and in my opinion(at least on PC) they are much more skillful than tactical shooters. Not saying tactical shooters dont take skill but how much skill does it take to creep around and sit behind a box and wait to shoot someone. /end rant

there is a fine line between "twitch shooting" as you call it and "quick peak glitching"

i am SOOO glad you cant fire when peaking and Bungie realized people would glitch in multiplayer it wouldve been really -blam!- but Bungie is PRO

Twitch shooting taking more skill! Comon, I've played them! They're fun but it takes no skill more than reflexes. Unreal is not a bad game, but you hold the trigger, point it at something moving and hope you survive.

yeh weather would be sweet, what Draerden said about the warthog head lights in the night would be so nice, think about a couple of hogs roaring across a map toward an enemy base....at night, packed with guys. the enemy would be -blam!- scared, but it would such great fun! :)

Can you imagine being struck by lighting in the game. That would be awesome. It would make snipers think twice about seeking high ground!!!!!!!!

Ok not trying to flame so don't take this the wrong way, but if thats how you play then you arent very good im sure. I've never held the trigger down in any twitch shooter. Or any shooter for that matter. And since when was using reflexes not having skill? I don't play Unreal Tournament so maybe there is more just spamming in that than Quake 3(which is what I play). Its just a difference of opinion, I enjoy running around at blazing speeds and using reactions to kill someone. Where as you I guess like to sit behind boxes and pepper someone as they run around the corner. Anyway got a little off topic, yea the weather effects would be cool. I don't know how much I'd like getting struck by lightning tho, its a really good idea but it would piss me off everytime it happened, because it had nothing to do with how I was playing but I died anyway. Unless of course I was standing beside a lightning rod or something.

Lighting would be fuuny as hell if you weren't the one getting struck. And it would probably only happen if you were at a high point like sniper perch.

Camping pisses people off and since thats pretty much my goal in life I love to camp. In capture the flag I sit on the flag with a ghost. If anyone wants it I run them down. That's why people call me the camper.

I can DEAL with camping in team games, but in solo I don't understand why you would want to do it. :/
