Hm. The system favors the quick and pointless "QFT" or "LOL" statements over an occasional well-thought out response.

Eh, oh well.

What, you think that you have the highest trust?

Probably either you or Duardo has the highest trust, unless the mods get some extra trust boost that would make one of them have the highest trust.

If Achronos is part of the system and is considered to have the highest trust...

Blame Achronos! (for increasing his trust so much recently.)

Otherwise, I'm going to lay this one on Stosh...

YES!!!
and I love it...

In the past month I went from
normal - heoric - normal - heoric - legendary
I'm happy, but if this is a mistake by all means change it achronos

though when the ranks came, I was a very regular member, then recently I got promoted to heoric, then I didn't post for like a week (hence decline) but I've posted a lot the past week so I go up to legendary?

Everything will be gone long before me. When the first living thing was born, I was here, waiting. When the last living thing dies, my job is finished. I'll put the chairs on the tables, turn out the lights and lock the universe behind me when I leave.

I've noticed myslef jumping around a lot. Before I went on my 2 vacations a few weeks ago I was mythic. When I got back I was heroic, and now I'm legendary. I never realized how much 2 weeks of inactivity matters.

I,ve been blacklisted a few times, is that bad on my rank?
One 3 day managed to knock me from Legendary to normal member. I just recently got my Heroic back. I'd say blacklistings have a huge impact on the ammount of trust.

Reeeeeeeeeeeach, mmmmkay.

Yeah, there has been a rash of promotions lately. Yesterday I was "Master of the Universe". Now I'm back to Mythic. I was looking forward to unleashing the powers of Castle Grayskull. :(

Unfortunately i am not one of these people.
I have noticed a lot of jumping about lately though.

True. I was out of town for a week and I was back to Heroic. Now I'm Legendary again after a bunch of posting.

Hence why you're back to Mythic. ;)

In which case, we could safely state that there is no set number of individuals for any group, that there's probably a modifier that an individual gains X trust per day, Y trust for active contribution, Z trust for positive reporting and -W for bad reports, -V for reports against and -U for bans/warnings. I'd assume that only X and Z were 'set' values, with Z being set by number of positive reports, and Y is a subjective value attributed based on a mix between some unknown values of post counts/thread activity/post length?

-W would probably be a set value, probably higher than that of the Z, so as to discourage bad reporting, -V would possibly be static, although it may have the possibility to have multiple values depending on the infraction and -U would depend on the length of the ban.

I think I've missed several values, or oversimplified a few, but that seems a reasonable guess. It would need some work to be an educated one, mind.

So yeah, I think we can do away with the notion that people replace those who get demoted, as there doesn't appear to be a set number of individuals per group (it was 200 Mythic before, now it's 259), so it's an independent system with benchmarks (Interquartile ranges, if you will) in which someone passes a certain level on a moving scale.

Mind, I think all of this has been said before.

Today I just got up to Heroic
Wonder Why? :D

Must be based upon being a good user and just not flaming and following the rules ect

I guess I never really paid that much attention to it all. The titles don't really mean anything to me. I just go about my business lurking, posting, and reporting. Business as usual.

Hi I'm RT and I like to argue!

Posted by: Achronos
There are currently 259 users that are Mythic, 3848 Legendary Members, and 11351 Heroic members. That leaves a number of "member" accounts in the range of X, where X is a multiple of 1 million.

The system is designed to reward you quickly enough if participate positively. I don't continually adjust the formula, it has been constant for a long time now. Just because you think it is based mostly on time as a member doesn't mean it actually is. It is WAAAY more complicated than that.

Specifically - the system is a relative ranking. That means your ranking changes based on the maximum possible score, as defined by the person with the highest rating that day. So, if the max value changes, your title can change, especially if you're on the borderline between one or more levels.

Move along, nothing to see here.

How is a reward system supposed to function when no one knows what behavior is being rewarded? Oh, but I'm not supposed to care, right? Again, how is a reward system supposed to work if you aren't supposed to care about the reward?

The only time I was promoted was to Heroic.
But that was a glitch. :(

There's a guy who got promoted to Heroic in four days. I won't name him, but isn't that impossible?[/jealousy]

What part of "move along, nothing to see here" do you people not understand.
For me it would be the "move along" part.
