Halo 1 infection hasn't been around for that long. But it is probably now a very popular part of whats left of Halo 1. I've hosted a few infection games my-self and many people would ask "How do I play?" Here is a list of all the rules you MUST follow to play and not get banned from an infection server.

Rule #1-Red team is humans Blue team is zombies. When you first join a game when it has already started and there is people aready in it, and you start on blue team, Switch to Red. The moderator of the server might even remind you on the chat box on bottom left.

Rule #2-Zombies cannot shoot only melee. If a zombie is caught shooting he/she will be banned from the server. Only Red team can shoot.

Rule #3-If you get killed by a zombie you have to switch to Blue team. If you dont the host will bann you from the server.

Rule #4-Dont randomly switch to any team you like. If you get killed by a zombie than you HAVE to go to blue. But if you did not dont just switch to Blue. Same goes for Blue team (Zombies).

Rule #5-No heavy weopons. You cannot use heavy weapons to kill the zombie. Again if you do you will get banned.

Those are all the main rules of Halo 1 Infection. Now I will go through the steps of starting a Halo 1 infection Server.

#1-Make your game have a maximum 8 players.

#2-Make sure the game is Team Slayer

#3-Name the server somthing like Halo 1 Infection, Just an example.

#4-There should not be a password for the server

#5-You can make any starting weapon except the Rockets/Fuel Rods.

Hopefully this thread helped all the people who questioned how to play Halo 1 infection. I also hope that people will follow these rules so that they can have fun playing Halo infection. And also good luck with making an infection server.

Thus he came alone to Angband's gates, and he sounded his horn, and smote once more upon the brazen doors, and challenged Morgoth to come forth in single combat. And Morgoth came.

Stupid parents let their stupid children play games that are rated M when they should be playing Big Birds Spelling Adventures

Also the AR is actually good in CQB now and no longer a glorified baseball bat.

Sounds like the zombies I've been playing since Halo 2. :/

The only reason I never did this because I always have a hard time meleeing as a zombie because of lag issues in Halo PC.

The bungie.net community is the halo PC community that is renowned for being unbelieveably sucky.

Red reticle, leading, steady hand...it's all the same whether shooting or meleeing.

BTW, been playing Halo PC since 2004 and I've never heard of this gametype, but w/e floats the old boat I guess.

Right, problem is that you can't actually melee anyone if they are running directly away from you, unless you have godly ping.

Yeah, but no lunge or anything like Pet0sh was talking about. I've been playing since early 2004 as well, and I can say that I never say this gametype pop up 'til 2007, maybe before.
