I haven't heard very much at all about the Marine Special Forces who we've all seen in that screenshot of MC accompanied by two other soldiers decked out in black armor. I don't know how to phrase a question about them in any other way than: can anyone tell me any educational information about them at all? (that is if there's anything to tell) I suppose they could just be more A.I. in campaign mode, but has there been any official word yet on Multiplayer Bots and could these Special Forces Marines be those bots??

Those are ODST Helljumpers. Their stronger and meaner than the regular Marines. We don't know about bots yet. ODST stands for Orbital Drop Shock Trooper. They are dropped in from a ship orbiting a planet, and complete missions while groundside. Most of them hate Spartans, and they aren't too friendly to anybody not in their organization.

Thank you very much, Mr. Cannon. You've been most helpful. Are you a reader of the Halo novels??

Yes I've read the books. Anything you else you want to know about the ODST?

Well, there's not really that much to tell. I was hoping you'd ask a question about them, instead of being vague.

yea ..... yea - sorry about that; I think you covered about everything; I guess I was just wanting some background info which you gave me, but one more thing: Why do they hate spartans?

ODST's are also known as Helljumpers because of the method they enter combat zones.
They drop from one man drop pods and are the first into battle, the drop-pods get extremely hot hence their nickname.
ODST's dislike anyone not in their organization but hate spartans because of their higher success record and how they came to be, they see them as freaks. During a training session John (master cheif) killed some helljumpers so they bear a grudge. spartans have also beaten them in exercises such as John ringing the bell when testing his mark 5 armor

I see, thank ya much. Are these Helljumper pods similar to the ones we see Plasma Sword baring Elites jump out of in the 2K3E3 demo?
