Heh, you put up some valid points, but I must disagree with you.

Three_Shot, you say that you burst the AR. But why? I've explained this to many people in their posts. Most people who use the AR tend to think that it is more accurate went fired in bursts, but that is actually not true at all. In Halo 1, the game was designed so that all the bullets you fire fall within the reticle. This means that you can be half way across the room with an AR, keep your fire sustained and it will still be accurate as long as you keep your target in the reticle. Please do not be fooled by a myth that bad players started: the AR is equally accurate when you use burst fire and sustained fire.
And what is the point of using a weapon for the challenge? Shouldn't you stick to weapons that you are good with? And if someone has a pistol they will still take you out, regardless of if you are good with the AR. I will say that the melee attack is both useful and powerful and looks really cool.
I suppose those are all valid points, but I must disagree.
First of all, I readily challenge you on your claim that the AR is equally accurate when bursting or full auto. The AR is programmed to behave like a real weapon, not a cheap easy made gun (as is the SMG, for this matter, as they both behave similiarily). The first shot generally lands dead center in the middle of the target reticule, and the longer you hold, the more the shots deviate from target.
Second, the fact that the AR shouldn't be used as a challenge. For the most part, I was referring to Single Player, as it's still quite effective in campaign. In MP, though, it does have it's perks over the pistol, namely (and possibly, only) its larger clip. If you approach an enemy from the front, swerving and dodging and burst firing, you're probably going to reach them as they run out of ammo, while generally you will have about a quarter to a half of a clip left to unload on their unshielded little arses. Either way, though, it's a fun gun.
