This thread is being locked solely for the reason that it is "off-topic" for The Library. This forum is designated specifically for discussing Halo 1 on Xbox (not Halo 2’s Multiplayer, Campaign or XBL). There are other dedicated forums for those subjects.

If you look at the forum listing in the upper right corner of the page, you will see all 12 of the Bungie.Net forums. The more popular ones even have a brief description of the topics they are setup to handle.

Posting threads in the wrong forum almost guarantees that they will be locked. Going to the right forum and taking a moment to scan the first few pages of it for similar topics can (and will) save you time and make sure the effort of posting isn't wasted when your thread becomes locked.

hey, you should probably try the forum New Mombasa, even better Zanzibar (strictly for Halo 2 multiplayer), or even Optimatch (Xbox live) for better results (this forum is for Halo 1 not Halo 2).

Hope this helps.

Being killed by the Guardians (the true Guardians, meaning no one is using the name "the Guardians") just means that the game got confused when you died and was not sure who to credit the kill to, so it was credited to the Guardians.

Getting killed by the Guardians is much more prevelant in Halo 1. There were a lot of glitches with the kill counter, and when anything unexpected happened, like you fall while getting shot, or you get pushed off of a tower, or you get run over by a vehicle that has no driver (it was blown up and flies at you), or two people are shooting you at the exact same time, the kill would go to the mystical Guardians. My friends and I always joked that the Guardians were the Halo Multiplayer gods and that we should not offend them. In Halo 1 multiplayer sometimes you would here a loud buzzing sound similar to the portal sound when you were nowhere near a portal, and we joked that this glitch also was the Guardians getting angry at someone who was hording powerup or a cheap weapon. I have only gotten killed once by the Guardians on Halo 2, and it was when a barrel flew out of the end of the Ivory Tower elevator hallway and squished me. They have fixed most of the glitches so don't worry about the Guardians interfering in your Live matchmaking too often.

It is the soldier, not the reporter, who has given us freedom of the press. It is the soldier, not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech. It is the soldier, not the campus organizer, who has given us the freedom to demonstrate. It is the soldier, not the lawyer, who has given us the right to a fair trial. And it is the soldier who salutes the flag, who serves the flag, whose coffin is draped in the flag that allows the protester to burn the flag.Father Dennis Edward O'Brien, USMC

When you die but the GAME doesnt know who killed you. Like when a box falls on your head. It isnt suicide, and it isnt a kill

You are all wrong, the guardians kill you when you are exploring. Bungie spoiled the fun of exploring and created the guardians to stop you from going places you should not be.

Trouser, you are totally wrong. You can get to many hidden spots on maps without modding or tricking the code. The Guardians are a fail safe for instances when the computer does not know who killed you. You can get to many places by doing crazy things, but the Guardians don't kill you. For example, you can get up the side of the canyon in Blood Gultch by using a warthog or grenade jumping, but when you fall off the edge it does not say the Guardians killed you. The Guardions are merely a safety net for bungie. They come into play when something out-of-the ordinary kills you and the game hasn't planned for it. Another example of this kind of kill is when it says "Killed by a vehicle." Bungie just can't plan for every contigency, so they added the Guardians and other stuff to compensate them.
