Of course, Master Chief !

No seriously though i know what you mean. This has been mentioned many times, and when i first thought about it i thought it was a bad idea. But now im not so sure, if they where just like marines but obviously much better AI better shot and smarter etc. But imagine them on easy mode, a few marines kick ass on easy mode, so a bunch of spartas would complete the level for you, while you watch the battle.

But yeah i think its a possibility,

Im not sure if they will be in there. After all, they all died, with the exception of master chief, in the defense of reach. And its spartans not spartins.

There is one major loose end from "First Strike" that I think will play a part in Halo 2. If you haven't read "First Strike" or the other books or intend to do so, I advise you stop reading. Spoiler warning. OK, here goes:
Just before the mission to the Unyielding Hierophant, Dr Halsey abducted Kelly and took a craft which later jumped towards an unknown set of coordinates that wasn't in UNSC-controlled space. But it's reasonable to assume that those were the coordinates dr Halsey gained from colonel Ackersons files, back on Reach. The file in question lay in a folder named SIII which, as said, probably stands for Spartan-III. But what I think is more intresting is the file withing the folder.
That file contained only text with the letters CPOMZ followed by a set of spatial coordinates. Those coordinates should be the ones dr Halsey jumped to. But what of the letters CPOMZ?
Suppose they stand for Chief Petty-Officer Mendez? MCs, and the other Spartan-IIs trainer?
This has probaby been found out ages ago, I only finished the book days ago. But, if those letters stand for him, then is he in league with Ackerson? Are the Spartan-IIIs friend of foe? And why would Ackerson train a new set of Spartans? It would be cool to meet him, and Ackerson in the game, though.
