Hey has anyone thought of doing this, or does play Halo PC with a controller, i was thinking about getting an xbox contoller with a PC adapter to play Halo PC like Halo for the Xbox. I thought it would be a good idea since i would then be able to actuall BEAT my friends who own Halo for the xbox. Any comments would be appreciated?

Well, a mouse has MUCH better accuracy than a joystick will ever have. It's just so much easier to get headshots. There is no atuoaim in HaloPC unlike Halo for xbox, so the joystick gets nerfed even more.

If you want to beat your xbox buddies, though, then yes get it. It will teach you to have better accuracy with the lack of autoaim and stuff.

Yeah, I use a controller. Xbox controller S. It is difficult as hell to use. But I had the same thing in mind when I bought mine. For the day I get an xbox I will be already really good.

Mouse/Keyboard, why would anyone use anything else? Like SLD said, it's much better for aiming. From my perspective, the only thing that would make a FPS game WORSE than a game pad would be a track ball or a drawing tablet. I've played both Halo and Halo 2 through on my Xbox, but I would have preferred to use a mouse. The only real benefit I see to a game pad is all your controls are nearly packed together.

actually i use a trackball and it is very good to use and alot more easier to aim and throw grenades because u can move it alot faster than a regular mouse. but my trackball broke and now i cant get used to the mouse.
